Great stay with convenient location and friendly services! I stayed at Tokyo Plaza Hotel from April 8 to April 12, 2025, in a Twin B - Non-Smoking room, and overall, it was a great experience! One of the things I really appreciated was the free coffee and cold water available every morning—it was a nice little perk to have before starting the day. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice city view. The location was super convenient, right between two train lines, which made it really easy to get around Tokyo. Plus, there were plenty of convenience stores and restaurants nearby, offering a wide variety of options. Another thing I found really helpful was that the hotel allowed us to leave our luggage at the lobby while we took a short trip outside Tokyo before returning to stay again. That made everything so much easier! If I had to mention one thing that could be improved, it would be the lighting in the lobby restroom—it was a bit too dim and could use brighter lights. All in all, I’d give this hotel 4 out of 5 stars. I’d definitely consider staying here again next time I’m in Tokyo!
This our second stay at Tokyo Plaza Hotel. Last year we stayed for 4 nights and this year we stayed for 6 nights. The hotel is at perfect location, near to Shin Okubo Station - 2 minutes walk (not big station), which only has 1 exit and less stairs in the station. Valued for money, the staffs were very kind, friendly and polite. The facilities also good enough, but it will be more perfect if there is a in-house coin laundry. The room was cleaned up every day, they also changed the new towel every day. Also, thank you for end me a hair straightner, it was perfect 😊. The Hotel has a facility that we need, which is smoking area, located at 6th floor. Everything was good and will stay at this hotel again if we visit Tokyo in near future. I stayed one night here. I booked on line and got an offer for "check-in after 12 noon and check-out at 12 noon". I was alone but the room was a twin room, with one of the beds being a double. I was impressed by the size of the room. Bathroom was standard unit bath so not too big. Lobby floor (2nd) had a cafe and offered free coffee. I had to be in Ikebukuro for a meeting so this was conveniently located on the Yamanote line. Also walking distance to Shinjuku. It's not a luxury hotel but it serves the purpose of a somewhat comfortable place to stay in a busy area of Tokyo at a good price. I would stay here again.
We stayed at Tokyo Plaza Hotel as a family with two kids, and overall, we had a pleasant and comfortable experience. The location is excellent—just a short walk from the train station, with plenty of convenience stores, food spots, and even a small Don Quijote right next door. It made exploring Tokyo easy and stress-free. As expected, the room was quite compact, but it was manageable and clean. The beds were comfortable enough, and housekeeping came daily, which we appreciated. They also allow you to store your luggage until 3 PM, which was really helpful on our checkout day. We also liked the free water refill stations located at the café near the reception (2nd floor) and at the 6th floor lounge. There’s also free brewed coffee available at the café until 5 PM. However, just a heads-up—the 6th floor lounge also serves as a smoking area, and unfortunately, it tends to smell quite bad even if you’re not smoking. Overall, Tokyo Plaza Hotel is a solid and budget-friendly choice if you’re traveling with family and want a central, accessible base in Tokyo. The service is decent, and the amenities like daily cleaning, coffee, and luggage storage are thoughtful extras.

“Good hotel but could be better with a few tweaks”
Firstly I booked this hotel for the location which is amazing. It is less that 5 mins from both okubo and shin-okubo which were ideal. I went for the athletics so the (yellow) chuo line from okubo got me to the stadium in 3 stops. The JY yamanote (green) line was also a direct route for places like Shibuya and Shinjuku. Staff including cleaning staff were always helpful and polite and I loved that this hotel does luggage forwarding / receipt. Rooms were super spacious and had a fridge with a tiny freezer and a kettle. There are no lifts / elevators from street level to reception - just putting that out there for others but this was not a problem for me as I used the aforementioned luggage forwarding services so never carried anything up/downstairs. I went in September where there was an unprecedented heatwave so one thing that would have been nice (but not major) is an ice machine. I set ice but as the freezer is quite tiny you can only do small amounts so I spent a fair bit of change of buying ice from the local convenience stores. One thing that brought my score down. (I knew this before I went) was that the lounge is shared with smokers. If you want to use the vending machine, microwave or water machine it is located in the lounge which the smokers also use. Arguably the lounge was smaller than my hotel room! It's really unpleasant and the hotel would do well to find a way to separate them out. In other hotels I stayed in during my Japan travels some places had a sealed room within the lounge (similar to airports etc that have smoking rooms) and this worked far better. The rooms are a bit dated but that didn't bother me as I paid alot less for my nearly 2 weeks than I would compared to other hotels so I was not expecting 5 star decor but the shared lounge was a negative and I'm sure the cough I seemingly developed after a few days here in Tokyo was in part linked to having to share the lounge with smokers (i.e. I might be in there first , sitting to heat up food and someone / people would come in and light up).
