"I would say The Grand Hotel, Nuwara Eliya is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in Sri Lanka. Perfectly located with a quiet surrounding still with in walking distance to the city center. Grand is a British empire era hotel and certainly lives up to it’s name. The look and the feel are undoubtably majestic. The staff was extremely friendly and I would like to mention Sasanka and Duminda from the front office for their excellent customer service, Mr. Bala from the Bar for the friendly game of pool and his vivid explanation on the history of the location ( the three pool tables are more than 100 years old and the building is a part of the original governor’s bungalow from 1800’s!) and Chef Augustus for the wonderful birthday cake (It was my son’s birthday a few days back, and the cake was complementary). The restaurant staff too were welcoming, warm and enthusiastic. The Indian restaurant is a ‘must-try’ ! "

"Beautiful place and very well maintained. Right from the point one enters Ramboda Falls, you are taken down to the hotel in a van. The hotel is well built and has a great location. Rooms are clean and the view from the room is good. Has a natural water swimming pool and one can walk down to the waterfalls. Would rate it 8 on 10. Only disadvantage is that it's cut off from Nuwair Eliya (around 20 kms from the city which on these curvy roads would be atleast a 45 min drive). But if ou have a cab/van of your own, then its good. The breakfast was good. I just hipe that prices dont increase as the ratings improve "

"We had a bad start to the trip bc of our driver. He only had one day in Nuwara Eliya and spent the entire time in the car. We were going to leave Nuwara Eliya without having seen anything until we met Yohan, the manager of the B&B. He heard our story and offered us another night's stay and arranged a beautiful scenic bike ride around the lake and tea gardens. It was so peaceful and right up our alley. We love seeing a country on bikes. Yohan also arranged a tour at one of the government owned tea plantations. Perfect ending to our short stay in Nurwara Eliya. This is a great place to stay. Yohan is a wonderful host and his staff is equally as hospitable. We definitely recommend Amaya Langdale."

"The property is located in Hatton & not in Nuwara Eliya as mentioned in the booking. Hatton is almost 50 Km from Nuwara Eliya which we somehow missed to comprehend. Since we reached very late to Nuwara Eliya, we did not want travel another 50-60 Km to Hatton & wanted to forego the booking. However, somehow we decided & went to Hatton and that was one decision we would not regret. This property is amazing and staff the best. Just enjoy nature which overwhelms you. The rooms were good & clean. The food was fresh and tasty with local Sri Lankan flavour. The whole family enoyed the stay. Hatton Summer House is surely a place to return if you need quality solitude. Just stay with nature & no one else. You can hear silence here."

"A slightly older hotel as compared to Araliya City Hotel but has still retained some of its charm. Quite centrally located in Nuwara Eliya. The rooms were satisfactory but it was alright as we had spent most of our time outside of the hotel. Staff are extremely hardworking and polite though I suggest that training the staff more will take the experience to the next level. The hotel has an impressive breakfast and dinner spread."
