"Best hostel per budget so far I’ve been to in Japan. You get fridges to store food, kitchen to cook, coin laundry and locker to store small valuables. Downstairs is a cafe where you can eat all day, Nepali chicken curry is very good. Note that you make your own bed. For access, take Keihan train to Kiyomizu-Gojo station and walk here, or JR train to Kyoto station and take the bus 86, 100 202, 207 to Gojozaka bus stop. The hostel is near Gion area and the entrance pathway to Kiyomizu temple. Other attractions are easily reached by bus and I suggest buying 600 yen one day bus pass from the hostel staff if you will ride the bus at least three times in one day, except for Fushimi Inari which is much easier to get to by train. For food, head left towards Gion direction for about 300 metres, there’s a 24 hr Fresco supermarket which sells much cheaper stuff than convenient stores."

"I've booked a room for 4 with shower inside. Staff good, facilities good. I reached Kyoto early in the morning, I originally just need them to keep my luggage for me and I will come back at 3 pm for the check-in process, but the staff just checked-in for me, so I get a good place to take a rest, so thankful for the convenience that I've been given. The nearest subway station is Gojo station, take the exit 2 and you will see a orange color Yoshinoya restaurant, keep go straight as the restaurant will be your right hand side, until you see a OC cafe ( I think is the second street) you turn right to the street and keeeep go straight again until you see a convenience shop (mini shop) on you left hand side, the hostel just opposite to the mini shop. "I did not stay at the conventional room since I booked a dorm type room. But, this hostel is really beautiful. Yes, you can hear the sounds of the footsteps and even people talking but it's because of the thin walls of the renovated ryokan house. You can walk from Kyoto Station to the hostel (i love walking) maybe about 20mins, or u can opt to ride a bus. Ministop, Kyoto Aquarium are walking distance from the hostel. This hostel was really nice and I loved that I met other solo travellers there too. But what I loved most about this hostel was the service of the staff. Aww Japanese are so polite!! I forgot the name of the hostel staff (Aika?) she was very helpful to me. They also recommended an Onsen to me and I was delighted that I tried it!! Thankyou and I will be back again next time 😁Kyoto is looooove :)"

"I get to know about K's Guest House while traveling in Japan, first I stayed in K's house Mt Fuji which I found a great value for money, so I decided to try K's Guest House Kyoto. The staff was very nice, helpful and friendly, always giving advice about the best transportation options, they also help booking my seat for the airport limousine. The hostel is strategically located near to ATM, restaurants, bus stops, and Kyoto Station, walking distance to many areas of interest. I really like the concept and ambiance o K's house. Thanks!"

"The best capsule hotel during my stay in Japan. Went to Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. This is the best among them or maybe I did not choose the right Capsule except for this. Staffs are fluent in English language, helpful, friendly all the good stuff. The facilities are always clean, the capsule is spacious. The most favorite thing I love about this Hostel is the Breakfast meal! Love their rice, varieties too. I even take away during my last day, of course, I asked for the permission first. There are a lot more things to say about this place but I will just stop here. This is the place I wished I stay every single day, next time I visit Kyoto I will surely stay here again. Thank you Piece Hostel Sanjo for the great hospitality."

BEST Hostel breakfast in Japan!! The owner & his staff are so kind..... they treated me like family both days I stayed with them. (Thank you again for the invitation to dinner...... it was incredibly delicious both nights!!) Last, but definitely not least, the Shiba-Ken puppy Giro is the cutest thing ever. Agoda should set it up so we can attach photos to our reviews. I have some good ones to post of this amazing Guesthouse. :-) Cons: ZERO Bottom Line: You should definitely book here while visiting Kyoto! "

"Staff performance was outstanding. Very helpful with maps and direction/travel advice. They provide luggage storage until 10pm. There's a bus stop right outside to take you to the golden temple and other key tourist locations. You can buy an all day bus ticket for 500yen. Common room was fantastic. Met some interesting travelers to dine and explore Gion with. Beds are comfortable and have curtains for privacy. Bathroom is clean. Best hostel I stayed in Japan. Really enjoyed my Kyoto experience "

"I have stayed in countless hostels over the years and Piece Hostel definitely ranks as one of the best. I would stay here over a hotel despite the fact that it is cheaper than just about every hotel in Kyoto. The rooms are Japan sized but everything is so well-designed that we had no problems whatsoever. They really have thought of everything and the hostel includes coin operated laundry facilities, cheap bike hire, communal apple macs, and fantastic kitchen facilities. When we checked in, they down played the included breakfast but to our pleasant surprise it was great. They also provide free tea/coffee. I haven't covered everything but you can be sure that you won't regret staying here."
