All staff greeted me whenever wherever I met them. They provided prompt service like robots. However when I asked a staff around midnight if he was working alone, he didn't seem to know how to reply as this wasn't programmed. He just asked if I needed any help. It has given me that staff don't seem to have time to talk to me or help FURTHER. The air condition system is centralized. I could only adjust the ventilation but not the room temperature (meaning I've to contact someone to fix that) . Toilet flushing power was weak and the curtain couldn't be opened and closed by pressing the button. I had to call the housekeeping to help for the latter.
Luxury hotel on the highest level: top location, lavish property, Immaculate service, outstanding cuisine. A must-see rooftop bar, an amazing restaurant, outstanding concierge service...and much more. All of this comes at a price, but it's totally worth it!
Extraordinary in every sense.
Peninsula is a special place where harmony, serenity, luxury and excellent service are all together as an evidence. The room are classic and luxury with a touch of modernity, the spa and the swiming pool are great, quiet and class. The quality of the food whatever you are ordering is always perfect and tasty, and nicely served. The breakfast is a must to do in the Lobby with the music and the service. It is years I am coming since the opening I was never disapointed. It is definitely a top in Shanghai.
Everything's flawless. Concierge is exceptionally professional and helpful. We had very good dinner at Sir Elly, well taken off by Cathy. A memorable stay and I would recommend to anyone
First and foremost, the SERVICE. Outstanding! Love the little things they do like bringing up snacks and fruits. They're also incredibly fast at serving you, be it bringing you the room slippers you asked for or replenishing the water bottles in the room. The location, also great, right across the Bund. Our suite had a perfect view and we were so impressed by all the facilities! Of course, cleanliness was hardly a problem, and all the staff were polite and helpful. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and I wish we could have stayed for more than three nights...
Our entire experience has been a total nightmare from check in to check out. We are seriously appalled at how the hotel treats its guests. The receptionist laughed at me when I was trying to check in after a tiring journey. I didn’t feel welcome. We changed rooms 6 times! The server who took our order came with really bad breath. Couldn’t sleep because of how bad our stay has been. The WiFi internet disconnects automatically every time you lock the device. This is extremely annoying when trying to get work done. At check in, none of our requests were even acknowledged. The receptionist was rude and her duty manager was even more rude with a serious attitude problem. She kept giving us dirty looks. The rooms are old and smell like smoke, period. There is no denying that. It is obvious that it is from the furniture and old carpets with cigarette holes in them. All the furniture was damaged with scratches, marks, and cracks all over. The walls had stains and aren’t acceptable.
Fantastic
Very high quality of the service as always.
It was a great stay! The service, the facility and the view! C'est magnifique! We also enjoyed the afternoon tea at the lobby and it was so cozy! We def would come back!
Very nice room as the peninsula hotel does it. Free idd call is indeed plus plus point
The quality of the service at Peninsula is outstanding compare to other top hotel in Shanghai. It isn't cheap but the quality is there.
The service and the location are the best. It's next to the amazing bund and surrounded by the best restaurants in Shanghai for those who don't want to travel to far for the best meals
best!
The Culture of service and Hospitality is genuine and at its finest ...true character ...always a pleasure ...exceptional concierge!
I have stayed in numerous 5-star hotels but my stay at the Peninsula Shanghai has highlighted the difference between a standard 5-star hotel, and a flagship hotel. The grounds and common areas are beautifully and tastefully designed. There is great attention to detail, and a lot of elements which please the senses while avoiding being gaudy which happens too often in these Shanghai properties. The pool, gym, and spa facilities are the best I've ever been to. Service at the pool is attentive without being intrusive. The design is immaculate. Music is played underwater in the pool. The rooms are the best part of the stay. Beds are some of the most comfortable I've slept in. In-room facilities are perfect. I also had the pleasure of using the inroom printer for work. Set-up is a breeze and convenience is unmatched. Even the most basic room is comparable to junior suites of other 4-star, 5-star hotels. The hotel is located at the end of the bund. This is an excellent location as it is further away from the very busy, tourist heavy areas and is significantly quieter than properties 2 or 3 blocks towards the center. If you are staying in Shanghai, and you have the budget, stay here.
room good view good price good
Great experience at a top class hotel. Only set back is me and my nephew paid top prices for two standard rooms and they put us at the back. Only my room has a partial view...my nephew has a room in the back and that is very claustrophobic. Should go there when it is not convention season so you can have more room choices.
Can't be better. The hotel of all hotels
Great!!
The hotel is great - one of the best in shanghai no doubt. Except when it comes to standard as high as the peninsula it is disappointing to find the bathtub drainage not working, which foil our attempt to go back for a second and third soak. The swimming pool. First of all be careful when walking along the pool side. For some reason no thought was spent to consider the slippery marble floor with no easy drainage. So water accumulate and staff have to come back to remove water periodically. Even when staff are at it the slightly wet floor is a trap. What were they thinking? Second the pool being indoor is a little cold. It's good for the swimmers but kids who play in the water get a little chilly after a little while. Then there is the legendary (the legend probably came from the Hong Kong flagship property and it is being replicated in shanghai) peninsula afternoon tea. On weekends it becomes such a popular "thing to do, place to be seen" thing for (newly) rich locals that the lobby cafe transforms into a bit of a zoo (or Chinese wet market) - point is its crowded and noisy and it's outright unpleasant. Takes away from the whole peninsula experience to be honest. I'm seriously thinking of writing the general manager a friendly letter to talk about these but have been too busy...
good staff, nice restaurant and comfortable room, gd for business trip as well
Very enjoyable stay at the Peninsula - was upgraded to a larger room on the first night. Everything was extremely well appointed, clean, staff friedly, room was great. My only slight quibble was the fact that the wifi did not seem to work at all, but perhaps this was an issue with my phone.
It's a wonderful luxurious weekend. It's worth visiting the spa, has fantastic products.
It is many times already I had the chance to stay at the Peninsula Shanghai. It is not only a chain with a name it worth each star they have, even more. The Hotel is splendid from the lobby, rooms, restaurants,Spa, nothing is missing. The room are amazing, class, classic style with a touch of technology,3separate space inside each room (dressing, bathroom and bedroom).Everything is at the right place. The quality of the service is excellent, they are always available, efficient, nice, respectful. What is making the Peninula to be the right place, the touch of class and perfection.MY favorite in Shanghai.
room was great, staff very helpful, all spoke good english, right on the Bund, great view from the bar.
superb rooms with every possible amenity including your own fax machine. incredible views from the outdoor bar and wonderful room. the staff were very efficient and professional.
it was the best service i had ever received in my entire life. it was more than 5 stars hotel service blocation is right on the bond and right in front of iconic location. great food too!! definitely worth every dollar you spent to stay there!! spa is very small but also very good.
I absolutely have no complain about anything of my stay in Peninsula. From service to dining to the convenience! This hotel is always the best choice when you need to stay in shanghai. The room I got is facing Pudong river and had wonderful view from my window!! awesome!!! They have great SPA!!
The best of the best. Stayed at shangrila the next day and was disappointed.
Had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in the Peninsula again. What I love most about staying in Peninsula is a) All taxi drivers know the location, so no fuss with directions like other hotels b) Concierge - as I was there for a wedding, the concierge helped with several bookings of restaurants, bars and clubs - everything was managed excellently and we had fantastic tables because of the concierge. c) Rooftop bar - fantastic view of the Bund - great because there is al fresco area as well as indoor lounge. Service in the rooftop bar can be improved a tad though, but the front office and concierge are absolutely world class.
Well worth the extra cost. One of the best hotels I have been to.
I had a royal treatment by the most friendly staff
I went for a 3 days conference and I brought my wife and 2yo daughter, the hotel is so comfortable that they did NO complain while I'm away for business
Stunning new hotel with the most magnificent view of the Bund. Situated close to shopping and the business district is just across the river. The hotel is fairly new so it was a great time to stay. I would not hesitate to boom at the Peninsula Shanghai again or recommend it to anyone.
We travel to many different parts of the world and Shanghai Peninsula Hotel is one of the best hotels we experienced. It is located right along the bund and the services by staff members were definitely high standard.
The Peninsula is everything you could wish for in a hotel. Staff were very obliging in every way. The rooms are beautiful and restaurants well worth a visit especially Sir Ellys which was outstanding and worth the splurge. If you can afford a little extra you will not be sorry at the Peninsula. We'll be back I hope.
We arrived 3pm and could not have lunch anywhere so we had to order room service, which was not terrible, but also not what one expects is a five star hotel. We got an upgrade to a suite, which was of course wonderful, however we booked a kingsize bed and then got two seperate beds, also we booked riverview and did not see the river.
when i had afternoon tea at peninsula in hong kong, i didn't really enjoy it and so i was not expecting a stay at peninsula in shanghai to be that great. but it was betrayed, luckily. the room was very spacious and its bathroom was also big and comfortable. the only disappointment was that i could not reach them by email properly. i went to their website and sent to an email to the address shown to ask for special surprise for my wife, who spent her birthday there. i emailed them on the previous day of my stay, but my original email came back without reaching them properly.... therefore, we got nothing for her birthday. well, i should have made a phone call for such type of requests, really.
Peninsula has always been one of my favorite hotels in the world. This time I decided to try the Peninsula in Shanghai, and I was very glad I've made the right choice. On arrival, the staff were well-trained, friendly and ready to help, and they do have answers to all your questions. The bed of Peninsula is, in my view, one of the things I love the most about this hotel chain…they are so unbelievably comfortable you'd drift off to sleep in no time and always have trouble waking up in the mornings. Since the package I bought comes with spa credits, I used their ESPA for the very first time. My masseuse was very attentive and friendly, giving me tips and suggestions on how to release stress and body tension. Facility is complete, clean, and spacious. Overall, a great spa! I've also tried the hotel bar "Salon de Ning," located on the underground floor. The decor is fantastic with its glamour and decadence, plus the private alcoves designed with different themes. I usually don't like live bands considering the likelihood of them butchering the songs by trying to hard, but this live band was awesome, singing songs in many different languages to cater to the diversity of the crowd. The cocktails were well-made too. The location cannot be more perfect. Peninsula is located right off the Bund, with walking distance to many great restaurants and nightlife spots, as well as galleries and fashion boutiques. All in all, it was a very memorable stay at the Peninsula Shanghai, I will most definitely come back again!
I was contemplating between Waldorf Astoria and Peninsula and after reading reviews, decided to put my money on Peninsula and I was not disappointed. Located on the historical Bund of Shanghai, the Peninsula brought out the classy Shanghai with all the modern comforts as Peninsula is known for. Decor was plush and comfortable, and we were warmly greeted by all staff. Check in was a bit tedious as expected in China due to the medley of paperwork and forms that the reception had to fill in. However, the room was spacious and all amenities were in place. I was impressed with the finishings as having lived in Shanghai before, I am well aware of how hard it is to get good quality furnishing work done, but everything from elevator doors to the hidden drawers in the room which revealed a coffee machine, a fax machine, storage drawers, safe, etc are very well done. The bed was perfectly comfortable, firm but not hard and pillows are of the right softness. Concierge was very helpful with directions and the location of the Peninsula was great, near all the places that I wanted to go and within walking distance to most of them. Taxis are also easy to get and most taxis know the Peninsula as the best hotel in Shanghai. I was informed by the taxi driver who took me to the hotel that there is no better hotel in Shanghai, and I was not disappointed.
very nice new hotel at the rock bund. nice room finishing and spacious. it is at the end of the bund and easy excess to rock bund, bund, and walking street. peace hotel is around the corner which is cool for their historic interior as well. many nice restaurants, boutiques, and bars within walking distance from bund3-18. rock bund has a nice walk and ram museum.many high end boutiques just right underneath the hotel itself, chanel, prada, armani etc
帮客人订的,每年都会订这里,酒店非常好,房间可以看到黄浦江景
一个人的25m游泳池。绝赞。
