I went to a place with good reviews that I found in a hurry because I decided to travel suddenly. There was a reason why the reviews were good. First of all, the room had a wooden floor, so there was no need to worry about dust and it was clean. They assigned me to a high floor, so I could enjoy a beautiful view, and the kindness and accuracy of the staff's guidance were as good as a 5-star hotel. In addition, the food was excellent. The room service food was quite generous, and the prices of the drinks and snacks in the minibar were reasonable and not much different from outside prices. The breakfast menu was plentiful, and above all, the beef soup was very hearty and delicious. I felt that it was similar to the taste of Hyunpung Halmae Gomtang. However, one disappointing thing was that there was a strong smell of bleach in the bedding, except for that one thing, everything was satisfactory.

Despite being in the peak season, I had a very pleasant stay at a relatively affordable price (in the mid-200,000 won range) with great conditions. The room was very spacious and had access to Netflix, YouTube, and Disney+ (using personal IDs), which was a plus. If you want a high-floor room, it's recommended to check-in early. However, don't expect too much from the pool during peak season as it can get very crowded. Despite some difficult customers, the staff were always smiling and friendly, which was impressive. The breakfast was delicious with tasty beef soup, and the seafood soup I had for dinner at the restaurant was fresh and flavorful.

Recommendation for Tongyeong Hotel! This was my second trip to Tongyeong, but it was my first time staying at the Stanford Hotel. It was a very nice accommodation. The cleaning staff and front desk staff were all very friendly and tried their best to accommodate our requests. Thanks to them, we had a great trip. Thank you! The swimming pool and sauna were both great for relaxation, and the walking path was also very nice. There are also many places to visit nearby. However, there were some disappointing points in some places. We stayed in two twin rooms because there were three people, but one room (room 1204) had a disappointing bathroom. The bathtub was discolored (not a cleaning issue) and had many stains, and the silicone under the entrance of the bathtub was peeled off, and we also saw small bugs crawling around. Since we didn't use the bathtub anyway and all other parts were satisfactory, we didn't mention it separately, but we think something needs to be done about the bathtub. If we hadn't seen other rooms, we would have thought that this was just how the hotel was. As mentioned in other reviews, the cleaning was very clean, so it doesn't seem to be a cleaning issue. We will stay at Stanford again on our next trip to Tongyeong. We leave this review with the expectation of good improvements.

A relaxing retreat!”
I thoroughly enjoyed my 3-night stay at the Stanford Hotel & Resort. I had an ocean-view room with a gorgeous view of the nearby islands, and it was a delight to watch the fishing ships heading out to see each night and returning at dawn. The room had a balcony, a comfortable queen-sized bed, shower and bathtub, separate sink, mini fridge, hot pot for boiling water, an armchair and small table, and a desk with its own lamp and chair. Room amenities included a decent-sized TV, hair drier, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, 2 robes, and slippers. The small hotel fitness center is free for guests and includes 2 treadmills (only one was working while I was at the hotel), 2 upright bicycles, a padded mat, some dumbells, and a couple of weightlifting options. (No towels are provided, but there is a water dispenser.) While all these included features are very nice, everything else costs extra. The hotel has an outdoor infinity pool + 2 hot tubs on the top floor (10,000 won for adults; bathing caps must be worn; towel rental costs extra) and a sauna in the basement (6,000 won for adults). The buffet breakfast is ridiculously overpriced at 27,000 won for adult guests (I thought it was worth 10,000-15,000 won, maximum; maybe try it on your first morning and see if you think it's worth the cost). The hotel also has its own coffee shop and bakery, but the drinks and baked goods are a few thousand won more expensive than they are in most Korean coffee shops/bakeries. Fortunately, it's a short (~5 minutes) walk to the nearest coffee shop (Ediya; opens at 9 a.m. most days). Also nearby are a variety of Korean restaurants, mostly seafood-oriented, but Coupang Eats also delivers here (usually for a small fee). There's a CU convenience store in the harbor area as well as in the hotel basement; the hotel's CU doesn't seem to offer the same deals as other CU stores, so you might wish to head to the harbor CU to buy your own wine (+ opener) if you're interested in saving a little money.

checkin staff was friendly and hotel room was clean, except the bathroom smelled a bit so a cleaning staff came to inspect it and went above and beyond to clean it again, replace shower curtain and leave infusion + spray to get rid of the odor, which was much appreciated. view was great. however, i don't like hotel guests extra to use the pool or sauna. doesn't sit well. we enjoyed the beachside strolling road and the bakery on first floor. one thing i really disliked was having to take a number to wait in line for the reception desk. for a hotel in this price point, we should NOT have to pull a number from a machine. staff should ensure all guests are taken care of so they won't have to wait or maybe consider automatic check-in/out machines. the number is just tacky. also, most Korean hotels don't have a thing to put your carry-on bag on when unpacking. this is a big inconvenience. rooms for 2 adults should have two of those things! it was nice having a convenience store in basement. we didn't want a big buffet for breakfast so bought some yogurt and went to the bakery for pastries and coffee, which were good.
