Sakae hotels & places to stay

Room is spacious, not like the other hotels at same price range in Japan. You can easily lay out a few luggage at the same time, with separated spacious sink and shower area, a small wardrobe area (not just a few wall hooks). Hotel is newly opened in 2015 and super clean. Hotspring is very nice, clean and only for hotel guests. Location is a bit far off from Sakae station though, the 10 minute walk is bit tough in cold weather. Fushimi station is closer and just 1 stop away from Nagoya station. Lots of eateries around. Staff is very friendly and helpful. So far one of the best hotel in this trip.

We booked a small double bed non-smoking room. The room and private bath are clean as is the rest of the hotel. The room has just enough space for two person. It's very easy to find. From Nagoya station you can take the elevator outside the JR sakura dori exit gates to the higashiyama subway line gates. There's an elevator inside the higashiyama line gates to the platform for your luggage. Alight at fushima station (higashiyama line), take the elevator at exit 10 to ground level, walk two blocks to the right towards fukuokaginko bank to hotel wing. The hotel has a restaurant and is near to 7/11 shops. Staffs are polite and helpful. They've let us leave our luggages for storage after check out for a quick tour to Nagoya castle. From fushima station, take the higashiyama line to sakae station and transfer to meijo line to shiyakusho which is the nearest station to Nagoya castle. From Nagoya station you can take the meitetsu line going to/from chubu centrist.

Hotel rooms in Japan are usually small but it's packed with everything you need. This type of room is just perfect for people with average height and built. The space to roam around may be limited so you have to be more patient when fixing your luggage abd dressing up. Our booking includes daily breakfast with fair selection of food. They are very strict in time so be sure to be there before the scheduled time ends. You can also walk to Sakae area from the hotel and there are several restaurants and 24/7 stores around the area.

Hotel is located within 10 mins' walk fm Sakae shopping district & Nagoya TV tower. Lots eating & shopping options. The room is very clean, organized and though small, made excellent use of space. The bathroom is highly functional with great choice of Grohe tap & rainfall shower head. Gd choice of green tea bath foam, shampoo & conditioner. We love the scent! Guests are allowed to keep their luggage with the reception staff upon checkout. This saving us much hassle & money to deposit our luggage at the lockers in train stn. The mark of an excellent hotel: we were reluctant to check out! Highly recommended. :)

Already greeted by a passionate Western staff at the entrance who led us to the front desk. The staff were well-trained with sophisticated customer services skills and provided us with the essential service for the physically less mobile. We later perceived that some allowance had actually been made to extend the scope of the service without letting us know as we could no longer use it that way on the check-out day. The free hotel shuttle to Nagoya Station was a plus! Great if there can be one to Sakae Station too. Our room on the Deluxe Floor was spacious, modern and clean, well within my expectation of a Hilton Hotel room but we could hear people talking in the corridor and running upstairs quite clearly. Fitness Centre staff seemed to be monitoring our every move in the pool and public bath but he didn't advise a Japanese guest not to use a hair-dryer to dry his feet, which I didn't find acceptable. Staff and guests didn't seem to welcome foreign guests in that area.

The hotel is easy to find. From the Sakae station you go to exit no.13 and walk from the station about 5 minutes. And due to the Sakae station is a big station.there are a lot of exit and connect to the shopping mall. You can use their elevator to go to the ground floor. But if you are check out early in the morning. It might be trouble if you have a big luggage cause the shopping mall is not open yet. You have to bring luggage down by stair. There are club around the hotel. But it safe. I stay with my sister and nobody disturb you. The bed is bigger than the the other hotel in Japan that I ever seen. Staff is very nice. It worth to stay here. If I go to Nagoya I will stay there again.

We used our stay at Lamp light books hotel mainly for a day of rest and sleep after a busy and tiring first week In Japan. It was perfect for this as our room had a gorgeous balcony and view of the park and the room itself was extremely comfortable and much larger than other rooms we had stayed in so far - especially the bathroom. The room provided pajamas, toiletries and tea making facilities too. The main lobby and cafe was cute and stylish and a wonderful place to have your morning coffee. We also loved the idea of being able to read books from the lobby although we didn't take advantage of this ourselves. The only Down side to our stay was that we were charged for wanting to check in early even though the room was ready. This is the first time I have dealt with this in my experience with hotels as usually, if the room is ready you are able to check in and go to your room. It was only 1000 yen per hour but we didn't agree with the principle. Late check out charges I can understand. I would highly recxomend the room with view for the extra money as it made such a difference to the enjoyment we got out of our stay.

I have stayed in this hotel for 3 nights & found it a great hotel. Good location, 6-min walk to Fushimi Station. Bus stop is right in front of the hotel - to Nagoya Station (or 15-min walk). Bus from Sakae will also stop outside the hotel. Airport bus is in front of Hilton Hotel which is just 2-3-min walk from the hotel. A supermarket & tax free shop are next to the hotel (left & right hand side respectively). There are also many restaurants (including one cafe in the hotel) around with various selections. The hotel looks newly renovated, facilities are new. Room size is definitely acceptable in Japan. Staff are very friendly, polite & helpful. I will stay here again if I visit Nagoya in future.

Pros: Own room, own toilet/shower with toiletries including shaver; same size as other hotels but space seems to be maximized better. Tully's and Family Mart are downstairs. Just at the exit (#2) of Sakae station (no escalator though). Just across tax-free shop Don Quijote. Best of all, friendly and English-speaking staff. And it is in Sakae, of course - Oasis 21, shopping, bus terminal. As a bonus for booking via Agoda, I got free bottled water. Cons: Exit from train station can be a hassle for those with big and/or a handful of luggage since there is no escalator. Minor suggestions: Probably add a hand rail in the tub for getting up easier. For better eco-friendliness, separate trash bins. Sorry, I just left the emptied water bottle on the table. :(

We stayed 2 nights. We booked 2 single rooms as the price is almost the same as 1 double bed room. In fact, both room sizes were the same. We were glad we did so as the room did not have sufficient space to open our 2 luggage. In each of our single room, everything was provided in pairs. Room Wifi was good and had all the basic amenities, such as toiletries (good quality), water boiler, tea bags, fridge, slippers, etc. TV had only a few Japanese channels plus a BBC News. Breakfast was Japanese and Western buffet style, with ample choices. Good enough for a decent breakfast. Staff was friendly, helpful and understood basic English. Location was good, 5 minutes walk to Sakae subway station. Overall recommended to stay here.

I was really impressed with the location of the hotel which is near the underground Sakae station and smack in the centre of the Sakae shopping district. I asked for the two rooms that i booked to be next to each other on my booking form and they fulfilled my request. The free coffee at the lobby was good quality and always looked forward to a cuppa after a long day sightseeing or shopping. The service was great and was really impressed with the staff's effort to prepare our takeaway breakfast on the morning that we had to leave the hotel before the dinning room was opened. I did not expect that a budget had this level of service. Outstanding!! Would definitely use this chain of hotel again when in Japan. Lastly, Agoda's service is also very good - they responded very promptly after I pointed out that the voucher issued had an error and that was fixed with no fuss. Definitely will use Agoda again on my next trip. All in all a very good experience. Good job to both.

The location is actually good since the station nearby (Hisaya-ōdōri Station) and just around 6-8 minutes walk but we need to be careful that we need to carry our baggage upstairs and downstairs from metro station. But this is a good location since Sakae station could be a 15-min walk and it means many restaurant and shopping options nearby. the room is good and comfortable as well!

About 500 meters from Hisayas-Odori train station. Catholic church (Mikokoro Center, 3rd floor) is on the other end of the block. Family mart is just across the street. Quiet neighborhood. With onsen bath at top floor of the hotel, a nice warm water bath at the end of the day to relax tired muscles. Sakae shopping is about 1 km away which is approx. 20 minutes walk. You may also take the train. Walking distance also to Nagoya Castle. Also, walking distance to Oasis 21 and Central Park undergrping shopping.. Oasis 21 has a bus terminal that can take you to Mitsui shopping outlet in Nagashima and also to Toki Premium Shopping outlets in Gifu. Pls check bus schedules before you go. We have a nice and relaxing stay in this hotel. We will definitely book again here next time we go to Nagoya. Hope this feedback helps.

The hotel is 5-10 minute walk from Sakae subway station. If you come with heavy luggage, would recommend to use the exits with escalators or elevators, which will land you inside other building (but you can find your way out just fine), but it's better than lug those bags upstairs. The hotel itself is quite new and located in the middle of nightlife neighborhood, so there're bars everywhere. The room, the bed is quite comfy, but no air humidifier which I think should have been provided during winter. The breakfast was 'The Best'. I loved the traditional Japanese ingredients for the rice very much, especially the black paste. The coffee making machine was awesome. By the way, I happened to have seen the controversial book 'The Real History of Japan' that you purposely placed in the room. It's ABSURD. And since I saw the news that you are going to remove it, I'll have no complaints about this.

Spacious twin room. Have two washing basins, one inside the toilet and one outside it. Good for make up. Very clean. Ten feet wide window facing ferris wheel. Just jpd11000 each night. Good location in Sakae . two subway stops from Nagoya Station. Breakfast yummy but just jpd1000. It uses silver plated utensils! 3 star room rate but 5 star service and room. I have been to Japan ten times. Definitely one of the best hotels i ever tried in Japan . Better ask for the room at the end of the lift lobby. It should normally be the biggest room. Mine was Rm1701.

It is a good value hotel located in Sakae station, a central location in Nagoya with lots of restaurants, malls, convenience stores and walking distance to subway, i.e exit 8 with sunshine sakae (ferris wheel) on top. Upon exit turn left, walk straight after 3-4 blocks turn left again until you see starbucks, which is located at the lobby of the hotel. Another option is exit 7. The hotel has a good wifi with comfortable rooms, i think bigger than the usual rooms in japan. Hotel staffs are also very helpful. I just noticed that smoking is allowed in the lobby, other than that, i dont have any problem. Also, from the station to the station is relatively wallking distance, once you get used to it, it is quite near and manageable.

Hotel is new and is nearer from Fushimi Station (5-7 mins walk) instead of Sakae Station (15-20 mins walk). Lots of eateries nearby and it wasn't noisy at night (room was located on 12th floor - 2nd highest floor). There are vending, microwaves and laundry machines strategically situated across the 13th storey hotel (1st. 5th and 8th floor). Smoking rooms are on the 2nd floor and there is also a smoking room area on level 1 in front of the reception area. When we arrived on 17 Oct 2019 at 11am and was too early to check in (at 3pm), we left our luggages at the reception and head off for lunch nearby and explore the nearby attractions (Nagoya City Science Museum and Osu Kannon Temple and Shopping District). When we reached back after 3 pm, we were handed our room keys and was told our luggages were in the room. This is indeed a surprise as this is the first time I have encountered such remarkable service from my years of travelling and staying in various hotels.

the room very clean...same with toilet bath, ohhh anything is worth to get a clean toilet bath, i praise those in-charge. room big enough for asian size. its 15 mins away leisurely walk from sakae where mitsukoshi and matsuzakaya are and for more dining options. osu-kannon is 20 mmns away leisurely walk. sakae and osu are on opposite directions from fushimi. science museum max 5mins walk. exit a and yoshinoya behind you, walk towards yoshinoya and turn right on that st. walk straight and you will see a circle with K on it, i call it circle k, its a convenience store, turn left there, and the hotel is a few steps away. infront of nagoya trusty hotel. i would prefer to stay in the sakae area nxt time bec im lazy, not bec fushimi is far.

hotel mystays THE HOTEL i can't believe a hotel costs just about usd 35 a night. it is very clean and modern, albeit small. and i love the sheets. at the lobby you can get facial wash et al. i loved the facial wash. LOCATION it is about 10 mins via walking from the sakae stAtion (violet line). oh the mayhem! i managed to get home to the hotel everytime with the japanese's meager english. there is actually a centrair limousine that goes direct to the nagoyu tokyu hotel, diagonally across hotel mystays, at 1200 yen. the gap between each is 4 hours. AROUND THE AREA diagonally across the street is a drug store, the prices of which i find exorbitantly high. i always buy at daikoku drugstore, tax free (foreign passport needed), which is in the nagoya station (locate zara home) walk to the right and cross the street, it is below one of the train lines. it is also about 10 mins away from the nagoya tv tower, oasis21, mitsukoshi. oasis21 is also home to the sakae bus terminal. the meguru bus stop at the oasis 21. overlooking the nagoya tv tower.

Hotel Silk Tree Nagoya is conveniently located between Sakae and Fushimi stations (it's nearer Fushimi station Exit 2). The room is small but clean and complete with everything you may need - even the small bathroom fits a bathtub perfectly. The hotel offers only bread, coffee, and juice for breakfast but it's okay for the price you pay. There are lots of restaurants in Sakae area and a Family Mart is just beside the hotel. The staff are friendly and very eager to help.

My stay at the Nagoya Sakae Washington Hotel Plaza was quite comfortable. The rooms were quite small but very clean and the beds were comfortable. The air condition was set at a low temperature, which could not be altered to a colder level which therefore made it a bit of a discomfort coming from outside where the temperature was in the high 90's.The staff seemed polite, they didn't seem to speak English much, they would just give the cards for the rooms and you would be on your way. Overall I would rated this hotel for it's cleanliness and for the purpose of being near the Sakae Skyle Mall.

This is the first time I stayed with APA chain hotel, very good impression, nice , clean , well maintained. The only reason for four stars facility is because I didn’t get a chance to try out the Japanese style bath on the second floor which is free, cause I wasn’t feeling too well, next time will definitely try so that I can rate. And the service is four stars because not always have English speaking stuff available, out of the 8 times (estimate) we need assistance at the front desk, there’s one time we cannot get our issues solved. We can tell everyone is really trying to understand the situation and help, but the language barrier made it difficult.

The Meitetsu line from Centrair will take you to Nagoya and Kanayama train station. The hotel is located only 2 to 3 stations away from Nagoya Station and Kanayama Station, hence it is faster and much cheaper to take the subway than to take a taxi from either of the station to the hotel. Both Nagoya and Kanayama are main stations that can take you to different parts of Japan, so it is very convenient. In terms of food, the cafe offers good pastery at the lobby. Or just a stone throw away is Tully's Coffe, located at exit 8 of Sakae station, which you can get something to bite.

good facility for business traveller. Even computer and printer is available at free of charge. breakfast is included. Simple but delicious. location is near to airport bus stop. Walk to Sakae and Nagoya station at about 15 min. staff are very kind and helpful. Special thanks to the young lady staff who ran to airport bus stop to return the my mobile phone left accidentally in hotel
