Where to stay in Trat Province
Trat Province hotels & accommodations

When we arrived, we were surprised to find out that our room building was across the main street that runs through Koh Chang, not on the beach side. I had the impression we would be on the beach side but it was just the unclear hotel map on the kacha website that led me to believe that. We asked if we could stay on the beach side and they informed us they were fully ...

Great hotel, but we stayed for just Two nights instead of a week as it rained all day. We arrived in the middle of a tropical storm. We drove from Pattaya through Rayong, Chantaburi and Trat to get the car ferry across and what should have taken us 3 hours took 8 hours due to heavy rain and flooding of the roads. In one village the floods were about a meter deep. Sugge...

This is a brand new hotel. At the time of writing this review this is the BEST hotel on Koh Chang that I have ever stayed at and I visit there quite often and have stayed in all the other top hotels and resorts on the island. This is the hotel I will now be using from now on, until another winner comes along and takes its crown. The rooms are superb and very spacious....

This was our 2nd stay at Aana and we were not disappointed. It is a lovely hotel worth the plaudits of other reviewers. After a sumptuous relaxed breakfast by the canal you have a choice of paddling to the private beach or to one of the two pools. Very relaxing hotel in tropical surroundings with good clean simple rooms. We would definitely consider returning for...

My wife had stayed here many years ago and felt its resort status and location were going to be the same. The location of the resort on that portion of Koh Chang beach was the best. It was located on a protective cove so the scene was serene. The breakfast buffet was excellent with more food items than could be imagined. We used the beachfront restaurant for lunch ...

The hotel at a year old is still being built. Overall we enjoyed this hotel. Rooms are beautifully designed and comfortable. Individual remote controlled a/c does it's job well. Lobby and beach restaurants are excelllent. Beautiful beach, killer sunsets. Stangely the pool was built at the lobby level of the resort instead of down the hill at the beach which makes it al...

After having visited a number of islands in Thailand, I would say that Koh Chang is quite easy to get to from Bangkok. One hour flight and another hour to get to the hotel from Trat airport. Sea View is located about midway down the western side of the island. The food was pretty good and not to expensive, the view was spectacular from my room at the top of the hill, m...

The Dewa is just awesome. Rooms are specious with comfortable beds, a bathroom with rainshower, bathtub and all you need. The balcony is spacious with comfortable seats. The service is very discrete, staff is super friendly. The breakfast is great with fresh juice up on your needs, eggs every style, soups, western bread, fruits and so on. The pool and beach are awes...

The Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort was exactly as we had hoped it would be. Quiet with a lovely beach. We booked an ocean front cottage which was expensive but worth it to wake up each day and see the ocean. The resort is remote and you need to rent a motorbike to get around. We tried walking into the village for dinner one night and it was very dark, hot and about 1...

We stayed at the Amari for 11 nights in August and really enjoyed our stay. It was low or "green" season so we had no trouble getting a sun lounger and the resort was generally peaceful and relaxing although I can imagine it gets very busy later in the year. The pool was lovely and staff were very attentive and friendly. Our room was large and clean with a spacious ba...

This resort is superb. Thirteen of us have stayed for four nights during our company trip. We have booked all cottages as beach front villas/ room and they are all just great. The rooms were super clean, staffs were incredibly friendly & helpful, the beach itself is great, water super clear and view during sunset is one of the best. Not too expensive neither. Food was ...

It was me, my mother and my son 13 months old. We had some time off from our China visit so we flew down to Koh Chang as we heard it has least rain during this period of year september. But mother earth has her own lille plan and the rainy season is normal and heavy during july and august. But not this year. When we arrived on monday it has been so heavy it cost fl...

It can be pot luck sometimes choosing a hotel online in a place you've never been. We are frequent travelers to Thailand, and Grand view resort was a wonderful find. Its just at the end of White sands beach, but that's perfect if you want something a little quieter. You can swim straight in front of the hotel, restaurant has lovely food, and reasonable pricing for Thai...

This hotel although not located on the beach is well worth staying at. It has a beautiful feel because of the garden design and the continuous sound of water bubbling from the lakes/pool fountains. At night tasteful jazz music is played in the hotel restauran. You can hire a motor bike from the and travel to town or the beach to which the hotel offers free shuttle buse...

This is a beautiful resort located on probably the best stretch of beach on Koh Chang. The bungalows are very nicely designed, great aircon and the bed is top quality too. The gardens are lovely and very well maintained on a daily basis. The resort is very well located...close to restaurants, supermarkets, bars etc and the other beaches both north and south of Klong P...

I stayed for a week in the Erawan hotel. As they were full on arrival I had one night in the Cookies hotel next door. The difference in quality and standard was clear to see. I had a great time from start to finish, food service amenities etc. A special mention to the manager who was warm, friendly and welcoming and making my travel from the hotel to Trat airport seamles...

I booked the hotel in August 2012 for a stay over Christmas. In spite of calling and emailing and receiving assurances that we could have a bungalow with an extra bed in it, on arrival there was no suitable bungalow type available so the first night had to choose between 3 adults in a double bed or going to a simple 2*resort 10 minutes away. As we only had 3 nights in t...

Cliff Beach is a wonderful resort, it's honestly the best choice for Kai Bae Beach in comparison to others. Kai Bae is only about a mile and a half long and Cliff Beach offers the only accessible sandy beach with no rocks. I was looking into the Awa and White Knot, their beach is terrible, but they offer great views. Our room was great, we had poolside view and ocean v...

We booked a twin villa for myself and partner and his dad and his wife. The accommodation was very spacious and clean. There is a kettle with coffee / coffee mate in rooms (but no tea). Room safes and towels (room & beach) are provided. The beach, which is literally on the doorstep was lovely. The beach was quiet and had lovely sand. You can see the elephants walk...

This was like a dream coming true; staying at a place which has best of everything to offer which you would be thinking while making a booking. Its located on the main road, which is a big plus knowing that this is a beach resort. Has a quick, responsive, responsible, amiable staff which will go out all the way to make you feel special. The hotel will make every effor...

I work in Trat province as a teacher and go to Koh Chang often with friends. Nature Beach is always our go to spot for a stay or just a hang out spot. The staff of the resort and restaurant are extremely nice. We seem to make new friends each time we go and this makes us always want to go back.

Great spot. Pool lovely. Lots of places to eat within 5 min walk. Would come here again. We hired a car in Pattaya and drove to Trat and caught ferry across. This worked out great as we got to see a lot of the island. Island much bigger than I anticipated.

We enjoyed our relaxing and rejuvenating 7 night stay at Rest Sea Resort. The Resort is decorated beautifully and is very modern and well maintained. We loved staying in the pool villa with our own private garden. Natty, Nicky, T and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly and happy to help with anything we required. I am unable to eat gluten and the staff were v...

The room we booked through Agoda was not the room we were given on arrival. When we discussed with the desk staff they quickly reviewed the booking and moved us to the correct room ( garden view vs. street view). The bathroom in the garden view room was small, there was no counter space and we found it a bit tricky that the recessed shower floor was so close to the to...

this resort is located near the small village of chai chet, where there are a few stores and restaurants, but the best place to eat is at the resort restaurant. it has terrific ambiance, great food, and super prices. the infinity pool is beautiful as is the landscaping near the hillside rooms. the beach is gorgeous, of course, but not great for snorkeling. the stan...

The 3D2N was amazing. If you wanted a serene area, this is the great place to stay with the best sunset view. Staffs were amazing, interns on the reception area were helpful amidst a lil language barrier. Stayed in a budget fan room. This is the only part that is not well taken cared of. The lights were a lil dim, there was not much of repair done i guess over the yea...
Cheap places to stay in Trat Province

I stayed few nights there in super cute bungalow! Room was clean and there was air conditioning. Stuff is super friendly. Food in Cafe del Sunshine is the best in Koh Chang. So delicious! And it’s value for money. And yes, it’s loud there because the guesthouse is in the party street. But if you like party it’s great place to stay! And you can get ear blocks from th...

I was only in Trat for the night, on my way to Koh Kood - couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! The guesthouse is beautiful, and the woman who runs it is so welcoming and friendly! The room itself was very bare bones, but for the price I have no complaints!

Party hostel located right in front of the beach with a great view towards the sea and far streched Lonely beach. The dorm is fresh and well air conditioned with everything you need and the staff is very nice and helpful. I stayed there when they arranged Half moon party and had a really fun time and met awesome people.

I can only recommend this place, we booked for three nights but spent 10 days there. The reason is that we really felt like home thanks to our hosts Tommy and Mameaw and also the environment that is so peaceful and welcoming. We didn't want to leave and we hope we can go back there some day. Rooms are basic and comfortable. But I spent more time in the hammock ;) The o...

The dorm beds here are the best I’ve ever come across, each having lots of space, a huge mattress and a curtain that completely enclosed the space. There were 2 en-suite shower rooms/toilets and they were also great, with free shampoo and soap. There were quite a few ants in one of the bedroom spaces, and we had to get fresh loo paper ourselves from reception area,, a...

The owner is very kind and accommodating. Each bungalow is equipped with a comfortable bed, mosquito net and fan; a clean bathroom with shower (no hot water) and western flushing toilet. Windows are louvered glass and there’s a lock for the door. The front porch has a hammock and sitting area. With lights, electric sockets and free wi-fI as well, it’s hardly primitive....

Pros: Near to Ao Nid pier, free transfer to & from the pier, free wifi [no need password to connect], open patio to watch sunset and relax, next to the sea with coral rocks, good food & drinks, hammock in front of every room to sit and relax, big room with free towels, soap, toilet paper and water provided, I stayed in a fan room, despite the wall fan, the room had ano...

A great place to unwind and watch the world, it’s the best TV in the world! All the staff are so helpful, they will laugh at your bad Thai, get you cheap deals on anything you need, but the best thing is that they are all very trustworthy. I did not lock my door once, they look after the environment and the view from the bar and beach front properties is amazing. YuYu ...

The owners were very, very friendly, helpful and nice and the place was very clean. Small hotel but facilities ok with small private bathroom, tv, bed comfortable, coffee and hot water for your own drinks at a cheap price, free cold water and a free banana in the morning. I mainly care about cheap hotels being clean so was happy. There seems to be a small foreigner ...

Very clean and good hostel. Close to many restaurants, laundry, motorbike rent, supermarkets and the beach. Very easy to get around the island and visit other beaches by motorbike (but winding and steep roads). There‘s a kitchen with a fridge which is handy. Beds are very firm, but I like that. Love the shower (good water pressure). That‘s my second stay at The Habita...

We stayed at Koh Chang Hut Hotel before. We have tried several different rooms and 2 bungalows. All very nice. If you live in bungalows you can have a real quiet stay. Some of the rooms are facing the street and of course there is a Little more noice there but it is nice to Watch the life. Rooms facing the garden are quiet. We shopped around for nice and comfortable...

This is our second year in a row staying at these huts. If you are looking for a 5 star resort in the middle of "the strip" this is NOT for you!!! It is an amazing location for what we like. It's back by itself off a dirt road so it's very private. Our ocean view hut was RIGHT ON the water. Bailan is a smaller and relaxed area but is also a quick scooter ride away from...

Eve's house was a very nice stay! The bungalows were very sweet, the mosquito net did a good job! The scooters cost 250 Baht per day, which is cheaper than in most other places! And the scooters were very good, the best we had yet in Thailand. If I ever went to Koh kood again, I would definitely stay here. The beach is only 3-4 minutes away with the scooter, I'd reco...

Felt very welcomed and at home here. Everyone especially the kids full of smiles which is nice to be greeted with. Delicious, reasonably price meals and convenient place to rent a reliable motor scooter. Location near the ferry dock but on the other side of the hill from the most of the touristy beaches. However with this in mind the guesthouse and the village has a sl...

The Ploy Inn is right in the heart of Lonely beach - just a few mins walk from the restaurants, bars and cafes and about 10 mins walk down to the beach. Our room was a standard room and was great - a large bed, air con, wifi in the room, hot shower etc. The staff were lovely and so helpful. Some rooms I think don't have windows so you may want to check this when you bo...

I came here with my boyfriend on holiday, and although we are not really in the "backpacker" scene anymore, we wanted to see all parts of Koh Chang. We booked a very cheap room at blue sky, and it was a bit too "budget" for my tastes. The host offered us an uprage for 100 baht a night. That was the best 100 baht ive ever spent! We had our own detatched bungalow literal...

Lovely stay, even if the bathroom did turnnout to be more or less part of the bedroom (no door). However, the bed was comfy, and we were well tucked in for the night. The woman at the front desk is lovely, and helped us book our onwards fare to Koh Kut.

We had a very good experience staying here for two nights. I stayed also in Lonely Beach and white sand beach and have to say I really prefer this neighborhood to stay in Koh Chang. Probably my favorite beach, and best variety of restaurants and shops. Paradise Bungalows sit across the street from the beach access (SO worth a two minute walk to save the money from the ...

We had just booked one night in this hotel before going to ko kood. Knowing we would find other available hotels during the green season if this one was disappointing. So the first day, we rented a motorbike and visited a few other pre-selected hotels on various beaches of the island to see if they would be better. In the end, Away appeared to be the best choice. ...

Barali is perfection. I have never stayed anywhere better, as relaxing and inspiring, or felt so safe. The location is divine with only a few people enjoying the pretty palm tree beach and calm sea. The silky smooth fine white sand beach is postcard perfect encompassing the delightfully calm archipelago ambience. The entire Klong Prao bay is sheltered so has tiny wa...

My wife and I live in Bangkok but go away a couple of times a month to escape the hustle and bustle and oppressive heat of the metropolis. This was our first visit to Koh Chang and the first thing you notice is that the proximity of the hotel to the sea keeps things cool. The hotel itself is modern and in a good state of repair. The room was nice and big with a jacuzzi...

Brand new resort, very nice facilities, nice beach (best on island?), nice remote location (you can rent moped at hotel). Best of all was the extremely friendly, welcoming and personal “service” from personnel and family who runs the place. They are very passionate about ensuring best guest experience. Did not feel like “service”, but rather people really caring about ...

This hotel is not located near busy bars and beach goers. There's not much touristy shops located nearby, which I liked. The bakery on the main road is no longer open. The staff were very helpful. They offer wifi for a fee. I think it was 200 baht/hour. But, you can use their computers next to the main lobby area if you don't bring a laptop. The gardens, ponds, and wal...

Hotel is really nice, sunset is right in front of it an amazing. They also provide a service to bring you back to Bangkok with speed boat to the coast/ minivan very well organized for 900thb. Can rent kayak and paddle board. Restaurant is good and cheap. Bad points are: breakfast is really, really poor for a hotel this price, if you like eating sweet things in the morn...

The room we have booked is right next to the beach and it stunning as you can lay down on the bed and look at the beach all day. Also, there are upper floor you can spend your time look over the sea to Kham island (small island nearby). If you feel like doing an exercise you can grab a free kayak of 2 hours per client per day and just paddling across the sea to Kham is...

(NOTE: Stay here during slow season) Amazing to have this small modern hotel on a remote island like Koh Mak. Modern room with all the trimmings (hot shower;satellite TV; free wi-fi,infinity pool..) True, it has to have the best view on the island; however,to get to the beach it is a 15 minute walk away from your area. Also (detail here)if I was the architect-designer ...

Booked for me and friends because of location price and proximity to the beach, the hotel looked great for the money then when we arrived we told we were not in main hotel but a 5 storey one star block 350 yards across a main road, this was not cool and although the room was clean and had ac the shower had a mind of its own in every room, boiling hot then cold fast the...

Nirvana resort was exactly that - a little slice of heaven perfectly situated amongst two beautiful beaches. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the manager Tom is always available to give great advice on tours, activities etc. The resort arranges transfers to and from the main Pier and some private beaches in the area and day trips. They also assist wit...

this resort is managed by a wonderful caring couple. the pool is glorious and the white-sand beach is a few steps away from your room. at christmas time there was plenty of night life along the beach - i travelled with my adult son who found plenty of parties. the seafood at the pier is so fresh and cheap-the best i have ever had. just be sure that your driver finds ou...

Perfect getaway vacation. The hotel is only one year old so the facilities are great. It's located on a beautiful beach (private for hotel guests), and offers kayaks and surfboards for guests. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was super gorgeous and spacious, if you book the deluxe room, the mini-bar is free and refilled daily. Breakfast buffet is good, the r...

This place was amazing! We arrived at the pier and there was no-one there to pick us up (we had arrived on the last boat in low season) but within a few minutes a local had rang the resort and a taxi (pick up truck) was on it's way to collect us. On arrival at the hotel and throughout our stay the staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The food was cooked beauti...

First of all you may face a confusion to find it, because this villa is part of Siam royal view resort and it is not mentioned anywhere in the booking as it is owned by private person. With some help of local people we have reached, but first we were disgusted with mouldy smell inside the villa, also it was told to us that there is a maid who is cleaning every 3 days. ...

The hotel is very new and modern, we only paid around £30 a night so it was very good value for money. Only criticisms would be; The staff do not speak very good English but are very friendly all the same. The pool bar is too expensive and the service was very slow. Apart from that, it was a great experience, the sushi in the Japanese restaurant was very fresh and they...

When first approaching the hotel, we thought we made a big mistake. From the outside it looks run down and the name also says Siam Royal View which at no where it mentioned the name Peninsula Beach. Well, the hotel is there at the end of road and check in is straight forward. The room is much nicer than the photos and tastefully decorated. The hotel sales info and phto...

I've never been to Koh Chang before, But this time when I visited this hotel,I'm so surprise that Trat has a beatuiful place with a good service and relaxing place. If I have to give a point, I'll give 8 point for this hotel and everything. If you go with your kids take them to kids zone..

The hotel and its facility are very modern and I was able to relax enough in the hotel. Staffs are well trained and much friendly. Also, I requested the elephant safari, the staff was obliged to arrange it. The elephant riding was ve...

This resort was just great. The staff were instrumental in my wife and I having a wonderful and unforgettable week in Koh Chang. One of the most beautiful resort we have been and on this island it is definitely the best choice. The service was top, we had a little problem with contacting the hotel on Koh Mak and we didn't know how to get from Koh Kood to Koh Mak, our butler "Khun Ae" arranged everything for us, also we want to thank F&B staff at breakfast, especially "Khun Yim" and "Khun Eye", f...

My husband and I spent 3 days in a Cliff Villa to end off our Honeymoon trip to Asia and WOW…what a finale! Soneva Kiri is truly the most beautiful place we have ever had the privilege to stay. It was really best hotel I have ever stay before! Not 5, 6 or 7 stars!!! So nice and stylish, everything is made of wood, room is amazing (superior room): really huge with a soft bed, coffee machine and several varieties of tea and coffee, cookies and many snacks, aroma lamp with a pleasant lemongrass smell. When I have arrived- senior manager met me and showed everyth...
