Quebec hotels & places to stay

Samantha checked us in and was very helpful and accommodating. Other staff members that we hadn't dealt with remembered us and our situation and we're very helpful. Was really nice to see. Calling after 11pm for some information and assistance wasn't the best but during the day they are. I really disliked the parking situation. You can only pay for valley and it's $30/night. But if you find street parking then it's cheaper or free. Or public underground parking is cheaper.

The location, rooms, staff and the indoor parking were all great, however, the breakfast was abysmal with a very limited choice and they don’t have a dishwasher so every plate/knife/fork/cup is made of plastic/polystyrene and gets thrown away. I had read a review that mentioned this before I booked but I didn’t fully comprehend the sheer volume of waste being produced every day - it is unbelievable that anyone can get away with creating that much waste. So, whilst the hotel itself is fine, I can’t recommend it because of its damaging environmental practices.

Rooms were terrific! As others have stated, they are small but packed with everything needed--fridge, microwave, coffeemaker. Bathroom was perfect and accommodating. Bed was comfy. I was able to hit the IGA daily to stock up on water, lunches, snacks. etc. Metro station was minutes away so I could travel between downtown and old Montreal. Will definitely stay there again.

Situated across the street from the train staition, this hotel has spacious, up to dale rooms , great staff, lovely breakfast buffet and the best pool ever! Imagine getting into a pool indoors and then go through to an out door pool regardless of the temperature! Float away in the night undrer a starry sky - how unique and magical is that!! You can’t beat the price for the location, lovely hotel rooms and magical pool. Enjoy your experience at the Hotel Bonaventure!

We were 2 couples with 1 baby. We ordered 2 rooms for 1 night. One of the rooms had a strong lingering odour where they had cleaned up after a previous guest, but the staff immediately changed our room without any fuss, and both rooms although fairly small were clean and comfortable . Staff were lovely to deal with and our stay was pleasant. The hotel is aging, but considering its location, and the price we paid, it still represents good value. If you're looking for a larger and more updated room, I would suggest you look at Best Western Premium properties as the one we stayed in at Quebec was great. Having said that, if you just need a centrally located room for a sightseeing or shopping base, this will do nicely.

Wonderful hotel. The pool was a little smaller than I expected but everything was good. Super comfy beds. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is that there were no curtains to cover up the huge window in our room. Just a white mesh lace curtain. So in the morning the sunlight came through too brightly which was hard for us to sleep in. Other than that the rooms were clean cozy and the staff were friendly.

Pros - location to airport, shuttle service, breakfast, appearance of room, friendly staff. Cons - NOISE.!! Could hear airplanes from airport, trucks on the road , and tour bus that pulled in outside my room at 5 am. Need double/triple pane windows to allow sleep.. Also need to tuck in the top sheet, not just lay it across the bed. Overall, adequate for a stay before a morning flight, but bring ear plugs if you want to sleep.

This hotel is located in upper Quebec, which is a relatively short drive from Downtown and Old Quebec (through the city streets without having to go on the main highway.) The reception staff were very polite and efficient. Facilities are great including a pool with an on duty lifeguard and a gym. There is an upmarket French restaurant in house, where we enjoyed a great meal and wines, and at least 4 other restaurants and a supermarket within 200m of the property. The room was pristinely cleaned, quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed 2 nights here whilst we explored Old Quebec, and I would thoroughly recommend it as it represents great value.

I have stayed at this hotel a couple times now when travelling to Montreal for conventions or sports events. I love how clean and tidy the rooms are. Eveything is very organized and I’m always impressed with the cleanliness of the entire hotel. This is very important to me when booking a hotel. They have upgraded the TV’s on the 4th floor since I last stayed there. There was also a mini fridge that actually worked in our room. 10/10 on quality of the items in the room. The hairdryer, coffee machine and the mini fridge all appeared to be new electronics. Great shampoo/soap (brand names) & Sealy mattresses. More than I expected for the size of the room. If you don’t mind the small room this hotel is a great option. I will be returning for sure.

The hotel was very easy to find, it has a very good location (downtown) and everything is close. It was very clean and you can rest very well. I recommend :) El hotel fue fácil de encontrar y tiene muy buena ubicación (en el centro) y todo queda cerca por lo que puedes ir caminando. La limpieza del hotel estuvo muy bien, puedes descansar muy bien. Lo recomiendo ampliamente!!

We arrived at Montreal from Halifax, after getting on 747 bus, and take the green line. The Hotel is just there, it located in a best place in Montreal, I can got anywhere I want by subway in half an hour or just walk. All these made me satisfied,, and the room is. big enough and extremely clear. The stuff is friendly and speak English well. I look forward to the next experience in this hotel!

My husband and I just spent 5 nights at the Novotel Downtown Montreal. This is a great hotel for the price you pay. It is about a 25 minute taxi ride from the airport and is located within walking distance to almost anything you'd like to do in Montreal. Old Montreal is about a 30-40 minute walk and there is easy access to shops, restaurants and the Bell Center. The front desk staff were very friendly and the room was very clean. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

The reason I book this was for how close it was to the train station, we had to take the first train early morning and it was super convenient, staff was great and the room was very clean and comfortable. My only comment will be that we went to the restaurant due to the rain that day and it was a very presentable restaurant, the lady at the bar was friendly and very informative, she convinced us to have dinner there and we did it was good, Italian menu, every dish we ordered was good, unfortunately there was a older guy been our server and he was not nice, he wrote our order down and lost it, so he got back and ask again for what we had order. I had order a soup as an appetizer and my main course came and the soup never came, he was in such a hurry and telling people to order quick because the restaurant has to close, it was busy there because of the rain, I don’t think it was nice, it is a beautiful restaurant and really good food, but it was awful eating in such a hurry.

I'd always skipped over Westins because of the high price, but Agoda got us a great deal. We made a last-minute decision to get away at the end of a school vacation, so we said "what the heck?" and booked it without a single thought to planning. I'm so glad we did. The room was amazing. Best mattress I've ever slept on, double-shower head invites you to stay in there forever, and a great view, even though this was just a standard double room. But, all that said, it was the concierge that made this stay as good as it was - he showed us how to use the underground city to warm up our walks on a very cold and wet weekend, pointed out the best spots to view the city's Montreal en Lumiere outdoor art, sent us to the best shops (for which my teen daughter will be forever grateful) and found us amazing places to eat that weren't necessarily on the tourist circuit. Montreal is a great place to visit, even in winter, but the hotel and the staff made it perfect!

My stay was great! I received complimentary drink tickets and breakfast vouchers as soon as I checked in, the room was huge, with almost a full kitchen (only minus a stove) and the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept on. The staff was attentive, but not intrusive, really a great effort by all there. And the best part was that it was a five minute walk to where our convention was being held! A great week, thank you Embassy!

This was the second time staying at the Le Centre Sheraton Hotel. Our room this time was smaller and a corner room. The bed was comfy and the Starbucks coffee machine is good for the morning. The internet was alright, I anticipated better connection but perhaps it was due to our room location. The fitness center has a nice pool and the hot tub has great jets. The hotel is located near excellent shopping on St Catherine and has lots of variety of good restaurants nearby. Overall, happy with our stay.

We chose the Intercontinental Montreal for a short break due to its proximity to the train station and the old town, as well because it appeared to be by far the cheapest 4 Star hotel in Montreal - something that made me a little worried. I had read the reviews before booking and was expecting an older hotel that was nothing particularly special. In fact, myself, my wife and my daughter were very pleasantly surprised. Yes, the decor of the room was a little older, but not badly at all. I liked the look and we all liked the comfortable feel, and the large size of the room. It was very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even giving my daughter a surprise gift bag on arrival (which contained a lovely soft-toy). The location was excellent, situated a few minutes walk from the central train station, and right on the edge of the Old Town. It is also part of the Montreal Trade Centre, which is in itself is a beautiful space. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

Beware there are two Comfort Inn Aeroport hotels, and this is not the Comfort Inn Montreal Areoport one. It's the Comfort Inn Aeroport Dorval. Identical buildings, a good 5km apart. If you need a hotel your first or last nights because of flights, this is great. I wouldn't stay here as a Montreal vacation hotel, which I'm assuming goes without saying, but you never know! No pool, guests arriving and leaving at all hours, and the location is only good if you need the airport. Everything else about it was great, and it was the best pillow I slept on my whole vacation. Too bad it was for only 5 hours.

The staff is very kind to help us call the tour agency and to check on their time of arrival while we were waiting at the lobby. On top of that, the hotel is located near Place des Arts station (you need to find the right exit that's the closest to the hotel). The hotel also provides microwave and mineral water which is a plus point as many hotels don't provide them. There is a supermarket nearby for you to get some late snacks. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!
