Finally it was nice stay after trying many hotels in Sri Lanka. There are few things can be improved such as cleaning beach, but compare to other few 5 star hotels where I stayed I must say experience was nice. Thanks for upgrading us into sea view rooms, I will be returning on again 1st of April, booked two rooms, would appriciate if I can have similar rooms.

Brendan and Bernadette created a piece of paradise on this piece of Sri-lankan land. The rooms are very well designed, the restaurant serves the best food in Sri-Lanka - tasty, sophisticated and juicy. I especially loved the separate large luggage room - it allows to keep luggage separately of the main room and avoid it looking cluttered. The outside waterfall shower i...

First things first, this hotel is no where near Bentota! Its in Kalutara which is a 30 minutes by a Tuk-Tuk to Bentota. Hence if you are expecting the same lovely beaches as Bentota prepare to be disappointed as the hotel is located on a narrow strip which has the sea to one side and the lake to the other. The location and area is bit isolated and hence one can expect ...

Lovely hotel located in a quiet area of Beruwala right on the beach, there’s a decent reef 50m off the beach which offers some decent snorkelling. We had a ground floor room with direct access to the pool which was perfect for our kids. The breakfast is okay but nothing special, similarly the other available meals are nothing special and overpriced, best to walk 5 minu...

This hotel was chosen solely to attend my friend's wedding and having been there multiple times for wedding receptions i particularly never thought of a overnight stay. To stay at Amuura is to enjoy the warmth of Claire, Paulina and Carlotta’s hospitality (not to mention the excellent customer service of Amal), to relax in blissful boutique surroundings by a stretch Beruwala beach, and to be a part of a project that’s doing things differently - built with sustainability at its core. Meeting fellow travellers around the breakfast/dinne...

When I visit Sri Lanka again I will stay at no other place. The staff is the friendliest you will ever encounter. Our breakfast and supper was brilliant. I must say that "Dill" our host was the friendliest and most helpful I have ever encountered. I have travelled to a few places but never been treated with such hospitality. My family and I (me, my husband and 2 kids aged 2 and 5) spend a very nice weekend at The Plantation Villa. From the first step out of the car till we waved goodbye to all(!) the staff we felt welcome and were cared for in any way. The place is an old and charming victorian bungalow with big bright common areas and the suite, where we stayed, was big and beautifully d...

Excellent hotel for leisure. In general, Sri Lanka is a very crowded side, but this hotel gives a real chance to have a rest and relax. It has a good layout, a beautiful beach and comfortable rooms, brilliant staff - warm and attentive (especially want to point Sambath :) ). The owner of the hotel - Mr. Roy is very good and pleasant person, who holds the daily contact...

I booked a double room and a triple room for 20th of October. When we checked in we had an issue with the 3rd bed in the triple room as it’s was a small extra bed with a thinner mattress which wasn’t comfortable. We were very upset and dissatisfied. When we complained it was dealt by a gentleman called Raj from front office. He swiftly changed with a different bed with...

my wife and i had a memorable stay at this hotel, was very comfortable and the staff was very courteous and help full. we will certainly be back again. the best thing we enjoyed was the massage centre as we was so relaxed.all the rest of the facilities was great.

I visited Villa Ocean view for a brief stay in December with my Parents. Stayed overnight. Location is very good - adjacent to a beatiful strtch of beach in wadduwa. Food is also quite ok.Cleanliness and facilities can be improved- Hotel appears rather neglected. Everything was offset by exceptional staff-Specially Sanjeewa, Lasantha, Priyankara and Dhammika. Cheap places to stay in Kalutara District

nice family at this place. delicuous fresh food. very clean. took us to a local fish market early in the morning without any other travellers or tourists. beach was quite near, but big resorts over there. helped us with travel plans. had long and interesting conversations about nearly everything. nice stay.

We had a room with fan and mosquitonet in the ground floor. Sadly often those rooms have a problem with mould fungus, here as well. The bed was clammy and the linen were not nice and clean. Anyway the staff was very nice and maybe the upstair rooms are nicer. The price was okay for the standard, but i would expect a nice linen and dry bed where it feels good to sleep. ...

Raj is one of the nicest people we met on our tour of Sri Lanka. He was helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Our room had no aircon so he set up 2 fans in the room. The Inn has a juice bar cafe on site. I really liked the accommodation. Raj is doing a great job there. Bathrooms and rooms are very clean and modern. I stayed here by myself for four nights at the end of a four week trip to Thailand and Sri Lanka. A family run guest house run by a friendly couple. Lovely gardens and nice pool. Only a few rooms so the pool does not get crowded. Although near the beach there are no cafes, bars or restaurants near by. I used a local Tuk Tuk guy to take me to the 'strip' with restaurant...

When I cheked in, the room I was given the TV was not working. But there were other rooms with TV working. But the House Keeper said, if im to switch rooms I have to pay and additional amount, its totally the properties issue not reparing the TV. Since I needed the TV I paid and additional amount and got the other room. Housekeeper said its a large and better room, and...

I've stopped at Mr & Ms Silva's villa for 5 days. These 5 days were like staying "at home". Silva's family are helpful, tactful and kind people – they will make you feel safe and comforted. Mr Nelson can show you best sights or attractions nearby or help you organise your trip across the country – but will never insist or be disappointed by your refusal. Tip: there is ...

Excellent staff. They were very accommodating, attentive and always showing respect to guests. Especially to Dash, who assisted us on our stay. The guy in the reception Lamal (apologize if its wrong spelling) , the guy who was attentive to give us our own table beside the pool alwAys and placing a “reserved table” sign on it to make it sure we have our place. Mentioned that check in can be done from 730am however when i went there at 1230pm room was not available and finally got a room at 430pm. Booked a cabana but received an ordinary room.. Was very disappointed.. To add to it DIALOG TV was disconnected and got it connected by 630pm.. Asked for a tea and it took more than hour to serve a cup of tea..

since it was a small hotel there weren't much people so we had the pool to ourselves (it's quite a small pool though). The surrounding is very quiet and it's just a short drive from Colombo. If you are looking for a place to chill with a bunch of friends this is ideal in terms of budget, location and offerings.

The hotel is really a large quaint and clean apartment that overlooks the beach and ocean. Not a large amount of furniture, but enough to satisfy your needs and the bed with mosquito net was comfortable. We were travelling with our son and his wife and the room was big enough for our family and guest to hang out without feeling crowded. The refrigerator and kitchen ...

So this would be our 2nd Christmas in a row staying at Club Waskaduwa. We originally booked for a Ocean Deluxe Room, but because the hotel was overbooked they upgraded us to...

A beautiful hotel complex with excellent Irish management and a very capable reception manager! Our butler Ajith de Silva is also particularly noteworthy. Initially hotel looked like a 5 star property, but once we went inside and started interacting with hotel staff realized why the rates are cheap compared to others. Building, pool, beach access is excellent but everything is badly managed like cleanliness of lobby, restaurant takes 30-45 mins to serve any food, lack of vegetarian food options.
