A compact, comfortable room with effective air conditioning. In the room on the second floor, when you open the door and step outside, you can see the neighborhood street from the top of the stairs, and you could enjoy observing the comings and goings of local people, plants, monkeys, and birds. The hot shower was available immediately, and the water pressure was sufficient. In this respect, it was overwhelmingly more comfortable compared to other accommodations I stayed at in Sri Lanka. Like other guesthouses, there were no shampoo and conditioner provided, so you can either bring your own or buy them at a nearby supermarket. There was toilet paper and soap available. You can purchase a large bottle of water. I came to Mirissa for snorkeling, so I initially booked just for a place to sleep. I was sad when I hurt my throat and had to give up snorkeling, but because of that, I ended up having many valuable experiences! The host took me to a nearby spot where I could see local wildlife by tuk-tuk. I liked it so much that I went to see it on foot twice in the morning and evening. I saw several peacocks, water buffalo, reddish-brown birds with feathers, and blue and white birds around the rice fields. I spotted monitor lizards in front of the guesthouse for two consecutive days! The neighborhood kids waved at me with smiles. When I made the reservation, I was undecided about a place closer to the beach, but after staying here, I really liked the surrounding environment. The area around the beach has a lot of traffic on the main street with cars and tuk-tuks, and the air is bad due to exhaust fumes. The music from various shops is also loud, so I was really glad to spend quiet mornings and evenings at the guesthouse. I enjoyed breakfast and dinner while relaxing in the garden with a fan blowing on me. They even asked about my food preferences in advance via message and prepared meals accordingly! They consistently checked if I needed anything or was having any trouble, allowing me to relax and enjoy my stay with peace of mind. Regarding the location, the surrounding area is a peaceful residential neighborhood with rice fields. A 7-minute walk from the guesthouse leads to a street with several nice cafes, and just a few more minutes of walking brings you to the main road. The main road has supermarkets, pharmacies, and a few boutiques, making it convenient. We enjoyed the differences in the surrounding environment and the walks. It might depend on the time and place, but when I was struggling to catch a tuk-tuk using pickme, they quickly came to help when I contacted them via WhatsApp. If the location is far, it obviously incurs extra charges, but it was really helpful not to have to deal with drivers negotiating high prices. They even took us for free to a place where we could see the sunset! Finally, I had a cooking experience at the guesthouse, and it was great to understand how intricate and delicate Sri Lankan rice and curry can be! I will definitely appreciate and savor it more from now on. I had to pay more since I often ordered laundry and other options, but at the end of the payment, they explained everything in detail while writing it down neatly. Thanks to the hosts, it became a memorable trip. Thank you so much!
