Phitsanulok City Center hotels & places to stay

YES!!! It was good experiences in Dragon River Avenue Hotel in Phisanulok. I have ever visited Phisanulok often because of my work together with Naresuan University. However main purpose of this trip was joining Wedding ceremony of the Sun of my wife's professor. Therefore I would like to book the hotel near the Wedding ceremony place which was city center of there. - Enough car parking - Friendly staff at reception - Enough space of the room - Good cleanness of the room and also public area - River view restaurant in the breakfast - City center near the famous Thai temple I am recommend this hotel and it maybe I will book again when visiting Phisanulok

I stayed in this hotel on two separate nights en-route between Chiangmai and Nakhon Phanom. I have tried before to find a pleasant hotel in Phitsanulok but to no avail. Wonderful that I now have this choice when I make this regular trip. On the banks of the river Nan, close to Wat Pra Si Rattana Mahathat (aka. Wat Yai), it has just 21 rooms, 2 suites and 2 connecting rooms. Modern and stylish yet retaining a Thai feel. It has all the conveniences of a five star hotel but with an air of intimacy and privacy. The Amore restaurant, where I had breakfast on both occasions and dinner on one, was faultless. An excellent choice of authentic Italian and Thai food; presentation, taste and service were impeccable. My only wish is that there were more hotels of this type and standard for road trips as they provide such a welcome rest during long journeys.

the ayara grand palace hotel is a breath of fresh air compared to most of the dingy old hotels in phitsanulok. from the moment we arrived and were greeted with a cold drink we knew that this hotel was going to be good. the attentive staff could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. the rooms were bright, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed, including a powerful shower with lots of hot water, a flat screen tv and very attractive décor. we ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. breakfast was also very good. no question of where i will stay next time i visit phitsanulok!

The Harmony Plus Apartments are very nice, but seem to be more for the business traveler, just my opinion and good for us as we were just spending one night on our way to Kalasin. The directions given for GPS systems take you to the Harmony Condo complex, but the Security there is used to travelers turning up looking for the Harmony Plus Apartment. The rooms are a nice size, air con was good and car parking was easy. We went for a walk in the evening down to the riverside, when we decided to head back we decided on a taxi, the one we tried to hail was already taken but to our surprise he called the booking office and another cab turned up a few minutes later, good service.

We stayed at the hotel during our visit to the Chinarat Buddha at Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, which is only 5 minutes down the street and easily accessible from the hotel. I was not expecting much from a small town hotel, but it was surprisingly nice. The lobby and dining room are older but very well appointed, and the rooms are comfortable and nicely maintained. We don't normally eat dinner at hotels, but there is nothing in Phitsanulok beside the standard Thai street meals so we gave it a try. We were very impressed. The menu is extensive, the dining room is quite fancy with a live singer, and the staff were very good with our little girl. We were able to order a full fish, three sides and drinks for around 20 USD. The breakfast the next morning was as good as any we have had in Thailand also. Overall, I would definitely suggest this for a stop in Phitsanulok.

This hotel was perfect: Clean, friendly staff, fridge, good bathroom, large room, nice bed, by the river with nice places to have lunch / dinner and drinks. The only problem was that here were a bunch of stray dogs on the 1km road between the hotel and the bridge to the city center. These dogs growled at us and were clearly unhappy with our presence. Since they were a pack we decided to head back to the hotel and get the nice lady at the counter to call us a taxi. A very nice hotel, and I realize the dogs aren't part of the service, but they were a big minus on our experience. This affects my 'location' rating and recommendation.

Super impressed! The place is very cool-decorated. All staff are friendly (especially the old lady who owns the place.) A must-visit hostel when you come to Phitsanulok!

Well-priced and very clean. The bed was large, the shower was hot, the staff was very friendly (some speak English), and the breakfast was diverse and delicious. Hotel staff even offered to take us to the bus station and made a second trip after we forgot a water bottle at the hotel. Great service and excellent location (about 10 min walk to bus station). I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is on the western outskirts of Phitsanulok - so it is convenient if travelling NS or East. Mr room (2501, I think) was not on the 2nd floor but the 5th, and faced the busy main highway. Closed windows and drapes blocked out most of the noise but if you are a light sleeper request a room in the adjacent building or on the non-road side of the first building. The room was clean and comfortable enough and the breakfast (free) was excellent. There is a small swimming pool but I did not try it. On my return visit I stayed in the older building which offered slightly larger rooms.

For the price you pay, this is probably the best hotel to stay at. The hotel room was very clean and tidy and it was spacious enough [for me]. Bathroom / toilet was also nice and clean. I could hear the music from the ground floor bar / restaurant, and to be perfectly honest, I didn't particularly like that, but this is not a 5 star hotel - you can't really expect soundproofing windows, walls and ceilings used in the hotel The bar / restaurant on the ground floor, which is basically a part of the hotel, is kind of chic though. Food served is not spectacular but good. Especially given that Phitsanulok is a small town (whose population size is 84,000) and this is basically a budget hotel in the small town, the bar / restaurant offers a pretty good selection of beers and wines - i was not expecting that. (I can only wish that they used a soundproofing ceiling here.) Let me put it this way. If I go visit Phitsanulok / Sukhothai again, I'll be staying here.

If you are in Phitsanulok for a layover and need to be near the bus station, this is a good deal. The hotel is located just a few minutes' walk to the bus station and a number of excellent restaurants and street food stalls. The staff are sincere and helpful. However, if you want to be in the city centre, this is actually some distance away from town. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

Perfectly located for the old bus station. Only 5 minutes walk. Staff friendly. Rooms are a good size and clean. Always quiet for a good sleep. A small buffet breakfast is normally included. This hotel has always been perfect for my needs and I look forward to staying here. If using this hotel as a base to explore Phitsanulok then you will need some form of transport. Motorbike, car or taxi. Plenty of parking available. I normally have a rental motorbike which can be hired near the bus station. My first choice budget hotel in Phitsanulok.

ok so 350 baht will get you a double room on the top (4th) floor. There's no lift so it's a bit of a climb and beware of the first step as you ascend from the 3rd floor, it's a bigger step than the rest. But I've skipped ahead. check in was quick and efficient but without any warmth. Probably a language barrier thing. The rooms are a good size. The bed is a queen size I think and firm but not overly so. The air-con is cold and there's a good sized fridge along with everything you'd need by way of furniture. The floor and all the bathroom is polished concrete with clear gloss finish which really just looks grotty more than anything else but the room itself was clean. Location wise it's close to many Things, there's a 7/11 less than 200 m down the road. The included breakfast is toast and coffee only, which is actually available all day, not only during the advertised hours. The eating area adjoins the reception area. I think it may be some time since anyone swept or cleaned the area and many of the chairs were broken so consider somewhere else for your morning repast. in summary.... pros. it's cheap cons. it's cheap. the big test is, would I stay here again? Yes I would. 350 baht near the centre of a big town is pretty good value and the shortcomings here are outweighed by the value and location. There's off street parking, too.

The hotel is in a very large building and offers a very comfortable and spacious rooms. The rooms are very clean. The Bathroom was a little bit outdated, but managable. The staff is extremaly friendly, especially the manager of the hotel. The internet is 50 bat. The hotel also has an English speaking newspaper. I was offerred a free shuttle to the railway station. The breakfast is quite good with lots of options to choose from. The hotel is far from the city center, but managable to reach. The bus station is very far, but, the railway station is closer. It is a very quite place and I highly recommend it.

Stayed there only one night but would´ve liked to stay there much longer! When we arrived, parking just outside reception, the owner(?) came to greet us. Checking in was swift and easy and your first impression was that you almost felt at home! The lobby was nicely decorated with a personal touch and the rooms (we had two) was fitted with everything you need. Nice and quiet with a perfect location (easy to find from the main road). For staying in Phitsanulok use this hotel! Very good value for money.
