    “A Perfect Kyoto Retreat”

I recently stayed at Kyoto Umekoji Kadensho and had a wonderful experience that far exceeded my expectations. One of the highlights was definitely the private bath facility — it was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The private onsen options offered a peaceful and relaxing retreat after a day of sightseeing, and the overall environment was incredibly soothing. The hotel also provided a variety of thoughtful amenities that made the stay even more enjoyable. There was a free-flow of ice pops and lactic acid drinks, which were perfect refreshments, especially after a hot bath. In the evening, they served complimentary late-night noodles — a cozy touch that felt very warm and welcoming. Other facilities were equally impressive, including a relaxing lounge area, a selection of yukatas to wear within the hotel, and a comfortable atmosphere that blended traditional Kyoto charm with modern comforts. The attention to detail and hospitality from the staff truly stood out. Besides that, I also highly recommend trying the matcha drink available at the hotel — it’s absolutely delicious and tastes amazing! It's a small detail, but it truly added to the authentic Kyoto experience. Overall, Kyoto Umekoji Kadensho offers an exceptional combination of comfort, cleanliness, and hospitality, making it a perfect place to unwind in Kyoto. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, authentic, and well-cared-for stay.

    “Amazing Stay and Experience!”

One of the most most unique and wonderful stays! The onsen and breakfast are worth it alone. Traditional Japanese rooms that are ultra clean and the entire experience is worth the cost. I only stayed one night out of three in Kyoto and wished I had spent all three there. Has both public gendered and private onsen. The public onsen was not overrun with a good variety of baths, cold plunges, sauna and shower facilities. I cannot describe how incredible the breakfast buffet is. It must be experienced!

“My whole family enjoyed a lot the stay”

This hotel is value for money, especially when you travel with elder or young people. My son is 14 months old and just learn how to walk, in this hotel I never afriad that he will fall down and get hurt or feel dirty. the whole floor is covered by tatami and in clean condition. My parents love the stay as well since the onsen is great and the breakfast buffet is full of option.

    “Relaxing”

This is our first time staying at Ryokan and we absolutely loved it! The staff are polite and welcoming. The facility is well maintained, very clean and beautiful! The family room is spacious and the facility has everything you need! We tried both public and private hot spring and both were amazing. The kids really enjoy the popsicles after the hot spring bath. Their breakfast once again has stunned us, the variety of japenese style breakfast choices is unreal! We only stayed for one night and we wish we could stay longer! We will definitely be back again!

    “Family of four”

We stayed for 4 nights and 5 days in Osaka, with two days in Kyoto, and among the accommodations, this one was truly satisfying! The accommodation in Osaka also had good reviews, but this one was much more satisfying, haha. We are a family of four with elementary and middle school children. The kids really enjoyed the experience of wearing yukatas, the hot springs, especially the variety of private baths where they could wait to go in, and the hot springs relieved all our travel fatigue. They even said they wanted to stay for an extra week because of the various snacks served at different times, haha. Today, we took the train from Umedekouji Kyoto Nishi Station right next to us to Saga-Arashiyama Station, where we explored the bamboo forest in Arashiyama and visited Tenryuji Temple, then returned by train. After coming back, we unintentionally visited the Kyoto Aquarium located in a park next to the accommodation, and we had so much fun there. We returned to the accommodation around five o’clock, changed clothes, had some snacks, and are going to enjoy the hot springs again. I found out that Toji Temple is a 20-minute walk away. From the accommodation, we could see the high pagoda, and when I looked it up, I found it was Toji. While Kinkakuji and Ginkakuji are nice, it’s also great to take a stroll to Toji, which has Japan's largest five-story wooden pagoda and is a bit quieter. I highly recommend this accommodation. Tomorrow we have to go back to Korea, and we plan to take the Haruka from Kyoto Station, which is just one stop away, to the airport. Although we had to transfer a few times when taking the subway here from Osaka and got a bit lost, it’s all a joyful memory. We plan to come back again^^
