    “A lovely stay!”

The resort is very easy to access, as they offer a shuttle service from the train station, which takes about 5 mins. Without the shuttle, if you're going on a day excursion, the walk from the station is about 18 minutes - it's not too bad, but there's some inclines, so I don't recommend that if you have luggage. Resort overlooks the water, which is amazing. While the resort might be a bit dated/traditional, everything is extremely well maintained. The traditional kaiseki meals are incredible and a massive amount of food, so arrive hungry. The restaurant staff, especially, are terrific and friendly. I will say if you have any food allergies/intolerances, they might not be able to accommodate you - you'd have to check for your specific allergy. Good to note, if you opt out of the meal plans, there is a grocery store about 5-6 minutes walking distance away. Lastly, having a private onsen on our balcony was amazing. Note that it'll fit one person at a time, unless you and your travel mate are tiny, but it was piping hot and such a treat after days of lots of walking!

    “Pleasant and Relaxing Stay”

I stayed at the Asian Taste Twin room with an outdoor bath (アジアンテイストツイン・露天風呂付客室). For all the room's amenities, I think it was relatively affordable. There was enough space in the room for luggage. There were 2 chairs and a table by the window with a nice view of the sea. There was a closet which provided pajamas and indoor wear. There was a refrigerator, a hot water kettle, and a capsule coffee machine (it was my first time staying at a ryokan/hotel in Japan with one). My favorite part of the room was the big outdoor bath, which was nice to soak in while seeing the sea and hearing the waves crash through the shore. The shower is the Japanese style one where you have to sit down in front of the faucet. The shower area and the bath feels like it's visible from outside, but the room is pretty well covered and is pretty high up, no need to worry. The room was cool enough (even in the summer), and the beds were comfortable, so I really had a nice sleep. I also recommend taking advantage of the public bath in their sister hotel (Yoyoen/Yuyuen) right across the street. The open outdoor bath on the 5th floor with an infinity pool-like view of the sea and the horizon, was spectacular. I wish I could have stayed soaking in it for longer, if there wasn't any danger of overheating. As with any public bath in Japan, that bath is men-only or female-only so check with the front desk beforehand on the schedule. For food, I opted for the room-only reservation, because I like to explore and eat out. This time I regret that decision because there weren't that much restaurants or places to eat around the area, apart from a convenience store, a McDonald's, and 1 local restaurant that was open (but it did close early). I recommend making sure you either have your own food or just opt-in for the breakfast/dinner course at the hotel. For activities, there is nothing much to do around the area. There is a Sea Garden Ikeriji a couple of steps away, but it's mostly rocks, and I think it's more targeted towards kids. There is no actual beach. I think the area is really meant for you to just soak in the onsen and relax at your hotel/ryokan. The staff were friendly and accomodating. Even though I didn't request to use the shuttle back to the station, they offered it to me and drove me back even if I was the only one in the shuttle. Also, make sure to inform them if you are going out at night or in the early morning, so they can bring your shoes out.

“Accommodation for the purpose of marine activities.”

The purpose of our stay was to enjoy Sea Garden, and I brought my 3rd-grade son and my 1st-year high school son along. In the end, it became the best memory. Here are the points I thought were great: - It was just a 3-minute walk to Sea Garden. It was really close and helpful. - The tatami mats in the Japanese-style room were Ryukyu tatami and very cute. The cleaning was thorough and it was clean. - A Wi-Fi router was properly set up in the room, providing a comfortable internet environment. - The refrigerator had chilled mineral water, which was appreciated. - There were coffee machines in both the room and the lounge, allowing us to enjoy coffee while looking out at the sea. - We received a special plan introduced on TV Tokyo. The quality of the ingredients was high, and dinner was a fusion kaiseki meal that was truly delicious and soothing. - The alcohol and soft drinks can be ordered via smartphone. There were many local sake options as well as local beers and shochu, with a variety that rivaled an izakaya. Additionally, there was no need to ask for service each time, making mealtime very pleasant. - Breakfast was served in a lacquered tray divided into squares, each filled with bite-sized dishes. It was very easy to eat and paired well with white rice. Dried fish and ham and eggs were served on separate plates to be warmed on the table, which was also delicious. The miso soup with kinmedai was excellent. The seasoning was just right, and for rice lovers, you could easily have three bowls. Even for those on a carb-restricted diet, the portion was satisfying enough. - For younger elementary school students, there was a separate menu that was properly handmade, making it the best I’ve experienced in hotels so far. - It was a great service to be able to use the hot springs in the main building for the same price. The open-air bath on the 5th floor of the main building had great water quality, and the ocean view was amazing. The moonlight reflected on the sea created a mystical pathway. Additionally, the sauna room was well constructed, and it felt hotter than saunas in Tokyo, which was nice. Although I hadn’t planned to use the sauna, I ended up going in for two rounds. It would have been better if the cold bath was a bit colder, but given the season, I judged it was understandable. Overall, it was great. It relieved my fatigue. I thought I would like to invite my partner's parents in the fall or winter for the baths and meals and revisit. Next time, I would like to try the teppanyaki course.

    “全体的に二重丸!”

    なんといってもお食事とロケーションが素晴らしいです。ある程度古い建物をリノベーションしているのが分かりますが、とても綺麗で過ごしやすかったです。お風呂は温度低めに感じましたので、相当長く浸かってないと芯からは温まりませんでした。 スタッフさんたちも名前を覚えていてくださったり、食事中の声掛けなど丁寧な対応して下さいました。 一泊2食付きで、この施設利用は本当にリーズナブルでした!
