Best hotel we’ve stayed in here in Japan! Room was perfect, went above and beyond for our expectations of cleanliness! On top of it being already immaculate it was cleaned thoroughly everyday! We had an option if we wanted our room not to be cleaned, simple cleaning (Fresh towels & minimal cleaning & then a clean where you can request to have your sheets changed). We got a bag of razors, ladies set, toothbrush & toothpaste etc refreshed every day & was able to take home! Washing machine & dryer on the basement level (Cheap compared to other hotels) and there was also a restaurant right out the front of the hotel! I can’t recommend nd this hotel enough!!! We loved our stay here so much! If we come back to Japan/Kyoto well 100% stay here again! Thankyou for the amazing service Hotel Resol xxx

I will come back to the pocket hotel next time! I stayed 4 nights here and do not feel inconvenient with sharing toilets and bathroom with others. Staff keep very high hygiene standard at all areas to make everyone feel like home. Walking distance to markets and attractions. I can easily find buses at main street where just one block away. It is competitive to 4-5 stars hotel! You will love it!

Very conveniently located as a base to explore Kyoto. Walking distance to Nishiki Market and Arashiyama, Kinkakuji-ji and Nijo-jo are a short journey away. Only 2 stops to Kyoto Station that we used to travel to and from Tokyo and Hiroshima. The breakfast was one of the best of the hotels we stayed in during our trip to Tokyo and the croissants possibly the best I’ve ever had. I would recommend paying the extra for the premium rooms as these were much larger than you normally find in Japan and had a few extras like a daily drink coupon, better in room complimentary drinks and snack. It was also useful to have the toilet and sink/shower in separate rooms.

I loved our stay at the Gracery in Kyoto this week. I booked the room after doing a little research, but it surpassed my expectations. Right out the door is the Shinkyogoku shopping district and a few blocks away are some of the best spots to eat in the city. The room itself is all you need. I expected the rooms to be smaller than the typical room found in the US, but it was more than enough for our three-day stay. After traveling for a few weeks already I was over the moon to find out they had two washers and dryers for guest use. It was 300 yen for wash and 100 yen for drying, nothing compared to the expense of sending out for dry cleaning at other hotels. The staff was very attentive and the breakfast had a good mix of western and eastern dishes. The only thing that would have made the stay better was a view, but we didn't spend much time in the room. Overall a very good experience and if we went back to Kyoto, we would stay at the Gracery.

We booked four nights and had two connecting rooms. It was perfectly set up for our family of four. The hotel provided a baby cot at a small additional fee but it was all set up and ready when we arrived. The hotel was clean and offered snacks and drinks throughout the day. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but used the small coffee shops and cafes near by. A quiet street with easy access to the train station and loads of shops and restaurants. The staff were very helpful and attentive as well. Would stay here again for sure. PS - for parents with kids who love Pokémon - the Pokémon Centre is only a few blocks away. We had no idea when we booked this - but our son was in heaven!

We stayed here for 6 nights which is a relatively long time in a hotel so we got to really experience the service. It was great. The room we had was quite large compared to most we’ve experienced in Japan (we had a large twin room). The beds were really comfortable and had that luxury feel that often comes with good quality bedding and great pillows. The room was quiet (but we haven’t come across a noisy room yet in Japan - they don’t often use car horns thankfully) and our sleep was never disturbed. We and breakfast at the hotel several times - it was Japanese style but with enough variety to suit most people. One of the best things about the hotel was it’s lcoation. There are two of them in Kyoto. This is the one closest to Nishiki Markets. We were literally a block away from the main shopping area, and short walk to many attractions. Subways and the main lines were all within a minute or two also. Highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is on a main street in Kyoto. There is a 7-eleven next door which is perfect for picking up a light snack, getting out cash, etc. The hotel is about a mile from Gion (very easy/nice walk) and only a block from the Teramachi dori shop and market place, which is also where you'll find the Nishiki Market. I would 100% stay here again. The bus from Kyoto station drops you off directly out from, there is a bus stop with a bus directly to Arashiyama across the street and it was a great location for venturing out and about from. There is plenty of shopping and restaurants near by. The room was also very nice. The hotel also held our luggage for us when we arrived super early and we were able to go about and explore. It was raining and they also have free umbrellas for you to borrow. We stayed for 3 nights.

The location is probably 15 minutes walk from the train station, or in my case, 30 minutes since I was traveling in a group of 6 adults and 1 toddler. Upon arrival to the closest JR station, Nijo, Google map was a little inaccurate as it leads us to a beaten path where as we can opted to walk through the day market (Sanjo Dori Street). The staff speak English fluently so we do not have difficulty communicating with them. The hotel was really spacious, clean and comfortable that we decided to extend our stay! The staff were also very accommodating for letting us stay in the same room. I would definitely come back to Mimaru Kyoto whenever I got the chance to visit again. It's walking distance to Nijo Castle, and there are tons of good food in the area (Sanjo Dori street also have a few nice restaurants at night). P.S. although Nishiki market seems to be just a couple of blocks away, it is farther than expected and thus, my family were exhausted. :)

Three of us stayed at this hotel for two nights and really enjoyed it. The rooms are a pretty good size and everything was clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is very centrally located. The main street nearest the hotel (Shijo-dori)seems to be one of the main shopping streets in Kyoto and leads to the river and into Gion. The hotel is also a couple of minutes walk from the subway and about 15-20 minutes walk from Nijo-jo castle and quite a few temples. There's also a convenience store nearby and the hotel has its own in-house 'onsen' with no extra charge. Lovely! The free wi-fi is also a plus. We didn't have any meals at the hotel, but again, there are several little restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel (and a really good yakitori joint!). Overall it's a good hotel and we had nothing negative to say about it.

My family and I traveled to Kyoto and stayed at Hotel Kanra for our first four nights. From the moment we entered the hotel, we were showered with attention from the front desk concierges and other staff. Check in was a breeze, and we were each given a glass of refreshing cold sencha as well as an azuki red bean pancake sweet treat - a really nice mid day boost before setting out to lunch. Although check in was officially at 3pm, we arrived in Kyoto at about noon and our rooms were already ready to our surprise. We were thoroughly wowed when we were shown our rooms, as we did not expect rooms of this size and decor. The rooms are expansive, and the tatami seating area was a nice touch that added a little Japanese traditionalism to the interior design. Beds were adequately comfortable and we made use of the hinoki bath tub in the bathroom every night. We were given rooms that faced the temple which was a quiet street and so we slept well each night. Every morning we set out to a different part of Kyoto - Kibune, Fushimi Inari, Uji, and even a day trip to Nara. The front desk was extremely helpful in getting us 5 person taxis and pointing out directions accurately. Each time we walked out and entered the hotel, the front desk greeted us warmly and asked how our day was going which was a very pleasant touch to their hospitality. Although the hotel is not located along the main streets of Kyoto, it is 1 minute away from Exit 8 of Gojo Station, which is 1 subway stop away from Shijio (where Daimaru, Takashimaya and other main boutiques are located). We used a mixture of taxis and the subway to get around depending on where the sights were. Overall, Hotel Kanra surpassed our expectations and we would not hesitate to return in the not too distant future!

We stayed this Hotel 2nd time, now with our three daughers. Hotel is located near Nishiki market along Shijo Dori street. Restaurants is located across nearby Shinkyogoku Shopping District. Entrance to hotel is next to the lane, a bit confusing initially. Hotel do provide free night supper which is nice after coming back from night sight seeing. We will definitely go back there again if visit Kyoto next time. Keep up the good work Hotel Grand Bach Kyoto.

My family of 4 (myself, husband and 2 young children) booked the Vessel Hotel Campana Kyoto Gojo for a last minute planned trip. We've stayed in a comparable hotel very close by, so we're familiar with the area. We like the convenient location, just 1 stop away from Kyoto Station or Shijo Station (Shijo has more shopping and dining options). There is a great soba restaurant across the street, a convenience store next door, and a grocery store not too far down the road. I didn't get the chance to try the spa, unfortunately. My family also did not try the buffet breakfast. If you have heavy luggage, I would suggest taking the taxi to and from Kyoto Station as it can be difficult carrying up and down the subway stairs, especially if you have young children with you. For such a last minute trip, it was great value for our money. It was a great, short stay.

Fabulous location. Staff friendly if not English proficient. Best thing: when my daughter left her jacket on the shinkansen, staff tracked it down and had it delivered to the hotel for $10 (what?!). Worst: had room 407 and do not recommend any rooms ending in 05, 06 or 07. On the side street where people are walking, talking and more at all hours. Had white noise and earplugs to get any sleep. Not good.

This is a new hotel and everything is well-appointed. It's located a short walk from a subway station, a convenience store is a minute's walk away and walking distance to a shopping district. The room was Western hotel sized e.g. we had a triple room of three beds (not 2+sofa bed) and still had a room to move. The beds were comfy and aircon easy to control! Bathroom was also good. There is also a coin-operated laundry service, ice and vending machine. We didn't have breakfast option but a nearby cafe does a good breakfast deal. We've had some hits and misses in accomodation in our holiday around Japan and I'd 100% recommend this hotel as the best we stayed in.

I highly recommend this hotel for the location, the staff and the amenities. It is a little hard to find as it’s on a small street but it’s only about two minutes from Karasuma Oike station which is one of the local subway entry points which takes you everywhere you need to go in Kyoto. The location is right smack in the middle of downtown Kyoto and a 10 min walk from Nishiki Market, multiple restaurants and bars. A huge Starbucks is on the corner if that’s your thing. The room is great but small for a family, we have just one son and it’s a tight squeeze but we don’t spend much time in our room. It’s also equipped with a washer/dryer which is a great bonus. Free soda and coffee maker downstairs. I would highly recommend, we stayed here for 8 days.

If we stay in Kyoto there is no question we would come back and stay at the Royal Park Hotel in a heart beat. The hotel was great but given we were in Kyoto to explore the location was more important to us so we had a bonus to have the best of both. The hotel was close to a few subway stops. We were very close (walking distance) to the Gion district where I saw a Gashia in the street. They are hard to photograph they move like ninjas you see one for a second and then they are gone. We saw a few temples and shrines walking around in the Gion district too. We walked to the imperial palace and the Nijo-jo (castle) both are close and beautiful. We walked to several other temples and gardens needless to say again GREAT LOCATION! The hotel is practically next door (actually only a couple of shops away from a fantastic Pizza place (authentic Italian pizza), there was also a Ninja restaurant (very affordable and tasty) near by as well. Also there is a beautiful stream near by with bridges that cross it in several locations. The water is very pretty and a nice view from several restaurants near by.

The hotel is definitely valued for money, the room is small but practical, it fits 2 medium size suitcases, the bathroom is clean and well maintained. There is also a public laundry room which is a bonus. The hotel located near the central district of Kyoto, there are restaurants just next to the hotel, convenience stores (Family Marts / Pharmacies), bus stops are all within 5 minutes walking distances. Shinkyogoku Shopping Street & Nishiki Market are about 15 mins walk. We stayed there when the M6.1 Osaka earthquake happened, so we spent most days worry about how to handle ourselves during after-quakes. So if there's one thing the hotel needs to improve is that they need to communicate more with foreign guests about special situation like this. Overall the hotel is definitely my first choice if i should visit Kyoto again.

Fresh breakfast buffet. Clean & peaceful hotel. Great use of space in the room. Kyoto isn’t known for its skyline- so you can’t blame the hotel for lack of a view. Bathroom seemed outdated, but not enough to detract 5-star rating. Short walk to busy market across Karasuma. Money exchange machine in lobby with mediocre rates. Lack of lobby bar, but each floor has machines with beverages. Liquor Museum bar across from hotel has great prices if stronger night cap desired. STARBUCKS in between subway/hotel & convenient store across the street. Doutor coffee & 711 a couple blocks south. During cherry blossom season, the hotel lays out information in the lobby regarding which location has peak bloom. Unfortunately did not have time to visit the spa, but I heard great things.

Resi Stay is just an amazing place for our visit in Kyoto, we spent three nights there. It has a fairly good location right besides the major street, close to bus station and 10 minutes walk to subway. The room is pretty big comparing to hotels in other Japan cities. Clean with well organized arrangement, big beds with low price. There are convenient store and grocery store nearby. We arrived late at night around 11pm, the instruction to get the key card is clear and easy. We get back to the reception the next morning to checkin, which is located near Kyoto station. You can purchase day pass in the same building at the first floor. Overall our best hotel experience in Japan, we hope Resi Stay has the same in Tokyo. Highly recommended.

very impressed! although room was small which most Japan hotels are, it was really clean & comfortable. almost all toiletries needed are being provided including pyjamas as well. don't waste your luggage space, they even provide bath salts, body scrub towels, body lotion, shaving cream & after shave lotion! location was perfect for us, karasuma station is just a 5mins walk, bus stops located just outside & directly opposite hotel, convenient store is just across the street, 5 mins walk to the sheltered shopping streets at shijo karasuma, 10-15 mins walk to nishiki market/teramachi, another 5 mins to pontocho, another 5 mins to shijo gion area. many Kyoto city bus available for all famous attractions, we even manage to get a bus here to go to Ohara. Our one & only complaint was that the pillows provided were really small & flat, tried requesting for additional pillows but as hotel was fully booked, they couldn't provide extras.

Hotel Gimmond was a very comfortable business hotel. All front desk staff were able to speak English very well and they were very helpful. They went out of their way to help us book tours and look up websites for attractions we wanted to visit. There is a subway station that is located close to the hotel, so it's very easy to go to Kyoto Central station, rather than catching a bus or walking. It's on a quiet street with mainly businesses on the street but is close enough to the main shopping streets. Really loved staying here.

Very hard to find the hotel, make sure you have a Jap sim card and gps, otherwise will take 2 hours if you just ask people on street. The sign outside the hotel is NOT very obvious. And somehow from the big road entering the lane there is absolutely NO sign say the hotel is there. We spent two hours running around and search the hotel at 2am! After 24 hour of air flight with transit! The sign outside hotel MUST SCREAM! Otherwise people CANNOT see. The girl with glasses are very friendly. The night guy looks like a COLD Robot with no emotion, looked pretty annoyed! Remember to smile dude! You're in hospitality business.

Will definitely come back to stay next time becoz the breakfast buffet with plenty varieties. Staff are very nice n polite to greet. Room is ready for you with warm air after u arrive a bit late of a day. Luggages are also prepared for you in the room as well while others hotel just ask you to push your luggages back to the room yourselves. Privacy is very good here as you have to tap your room card eveb before you go for elevator. Would be more appreciated if the public bath n onsen area could be more spacious. Hotel location is good which is relatively quieter those on thr main street near Shijo Karasuma! Street nearby hotel is picturesque that the small and wooden houses fills up your eyes with the unique Kyoto-style!

Pros: - really good location, access to 2 different train lines [5min walk from Exit 5, one line going north south 2 stops from Kyoto stn & other going east (1 stop from gion) west], - 10min walk to Shijo Dori Bus stop (takes you to kinkakuji & other attractions), - 15min walk to Nishiji market - Very helpfull staff. Mo trouble with English, always happy to help. - New hotel so facilities are immaculate. Small rooms from western standards but they're well designed & include alll amenities. Bathroom was a lot larger compared to most airbnb's we stayed in during our trip (wished it's Tokyo branch was a similar price). - Laundry on lvl 5 was great as it allowed us to travel light. We booked via Agoda & was cheaper than booking direct with hotel. - $10 buffet breakfast was good value for money - convenience stores right at the door step.

Very clean room, everything super clean. Spacious and with a washingmachine and small kitchen included. Its really a 10/10 A friendly receptionist which helped us a lot with our questions about sightseein around kyoto. I can really recommend this Hotel! You get a lot for a "cheap" price. We stayed in 3 hotels in kyoto. This one was by far the best. Hahaha i dont comment that mich normally but we really enjoyed our stay! Thanks again !

This is the second time I stayed in this Hotel and I enjoyed my stay both times. The staff on both occasions have been able to speak english and my check in and check out has been seamless, I had luggages delivered to and from here without issues. Though I suggest googling or using apple maps to locate where you want to go, unless you have a fluent english speaker in front of you. The hotel is at least 10-15 minutes walk from the nearest train station, take the number 24 exit on the kyoto subway line so that you don’t have to cross the street, exit at number 23 and you have to cross the street to get to the hotel side of the path (look west). You have to take the kyoto subway line from kyoto station to get to the hotel. If you want to stay at a hotel near kyoto station then I suggest you move on and search further on agoda. The area around the hotel is littered with convenience stores and restaurants and eating joints. The nearest stop is about a ~5-10 minute walk each way. There is a stop on both sides of the hotel when you step out. I travelled with a group of older travellers so my times reflect that. Nishiki market, and the shopping streets are approximately 20 minutes away towards the east from the hotel. I would definitely book here again as the service, cleanliness, and staff has been excellent.

This is my first time staying at Noku Kyoto. Since I check-in at 3pm, the lady at front desk showed her warm welcome to me and conducted the check-in procedure with her friendliness and sincerity. Besides, she did explain some important notes to me in detailed with her patience. I can truly tell that I was experiencing the great services of a 5-star hotel standard since I stepped into Noku Kyoto; the first approach already made me feel impressive. After check-in, my parcel & I were brought to guest room by another front desk lady, she did show me & invite me to enjoy the in-room complimentary snacks and coffee with her warmest hospitality; and also help to place my parcel well inside the room. Besides, the room was spacious with simple but comfortable interior design. In room facilities were sufficient and cater to guest's need. Even I think that it's much better than those luxury ones in premier international hotel brands. Apart from the room, my room plan included the morning breakfast. The guests are entitled to choose Japanese style or Western style breakfast that serving per portion per person. Even it was not in buffet style, the portion of western style breakfast was enough to made you full in the morning. I appreciated the breakfast included freshly made orange juice and vegetables that made it healthy. In a conclusion, I did absolutely enjoy staying at Noku Kyoto. If you would like to have a intensive visit to Kyoto city, you may consider staying here for a relaxation accommodation. Moreover, it's just only 4 metro stations from Kyoto Station; but not that crowd of people/tourists nearby the Kyoto station area, it's much enrich the vacation atmosphere. I would love to stay at Noku again while I come back Kyoto next time.
