"Stayed for a week. I loved the large and good-quality bed, and the large co-working space with a full modern kitchen. It felt like I was staying at a nice hotel for the cheap cost of a hostel (with the Agoda deals, since I was visiting off season). It was also located right in a bustling shopping district, with a convenience store nearby. I agree with some of the comments that the IoT remote / iPod touch system isn't the best. You have another thing to carry around all day, and the ipod kept losing connection, so I couldn't turn off the lights in my room or recline my bed. Kudos to the staff for helping me with this several times after midnight. The screen doors were also a little hard to lock. All in all, everything else went really smoothly and made for a great stay!"

"This hotel is perfect in every way! location is the best, just round the corner from shijo station exit 19 (stay on same side of the road & walk away from the cross junction), walk past Tokyu Hands & turn in at the Yoshinoya corner. Dont bother staying at Kawaramachi where you still need to transfer subway line, Shijo station is just 2 stop away from Kyoto station. Daimaru is just opposite & there are plenty of restaurtants in the street behind Daimaru (Ippudo ramen, pancakes, sushi, tonkatsu etc). Nishiki market is 10min walk & it link you to Teramachi shopping street. walk further down & you will reach Takashimaya. Room size is decent, compact but everything is available like a foldable writing table, fridge with 2 bottles of water complimentary, small bathtub. bed is comfy & reception allow early check-in for me. I will definitely stay here again!"

"I booked the superior capsule and it's the best capsule I had so far in Japan. Unlike most capsule, I don't need to check out of my room if I stay for multiple nights here and there's also option to choose for cleaning service for the superior capsule (no extra charges). It's like a mini hotel room with your own desk and door and bed... but without a lock. To me that's good enough because the price is great! Bed wise is very comfortable, not too noisy with a huge TV screen. It's comparable to a sky suite. Locker is huge enough for you to put your luggage in as well as your bags and others items (you have upper and lower storage space in the locker). The capsule although within about 5-10 mins walk from train station, its location is great as situated opposite Takashimaya and the most happening street in Kyoto and next to Gion. I will definitely come back here again to stay if I want save some costs on my accommodation in Kyoto and yet comfortable enough."

"I loved our stay at the Gracery in Kyoto this week. I booked the room after doing a little research, but it surpassed my expectations. Right out the door is the Shinkyogoku shopping district and a few blocks away are some of the best spots to eat in the city. The room itself is all you need. I expected the rooms to be smaller than the typical room found in the US, but it was more than enough for our three-day stay. After traveling for a few weeks already I was over the moon to find out they had two washers and dryers for guest use. It was 300 yen for wash and 100 yen for drying, nothing compared to the expense of sending out for dry cleaning at other hotels. The staff was very attentive and the breakfast had a good mix of western and eastern dishes. The only thing that would have made the stay better was a view, but we didn't spend much time in the room. Overall a very good experience and if we went back to Kyoto, we would stay at the Gracery. "

"Overall, my experience with this hotel was superb. Room: The room is big enough for one person. I don't expect the room to be as big as the ones in Taipei. It is big enough to open one large size luggage. The room is equipped with air condition, as well as, automated toilet. Staff: They are extremely polite and helpful. I had no problems checking in. When I just arrived, I needed some directions to get to some temples and they provided very good instructions and in good English. In addition, every time I leave and enter the hotel, staff will greet me by saying good morning and good evening in Japanese. That is a big thumbs up! Location: Personally, I think this is the selling point for this hotel. Getting to different temples and back to Kyoto Station are so easy. There is a bus stop 1 minute away from the hotel. You can get to anywhere you want. The subway station is a bit of a walk but it is just 5 mins away from the hotel. The walk is quite enjoyable actually. "

"If we stay in Kyoto there is no question we would come back and stay at the Royal Park Hotel in a heart beat. The hotel was great but given we were in Kyoto to explore the location was more important to us so we had a bonus to have the best of both. The hotel was close to a few subway stops. We were very close (walking distance) to the Gion district where I saw a Gashia in the street. They are hard to photograph they move like ninjas you see one for a second and then they are gone. We saw a few temples and shrines walking around in the Gion district too. We walked to the imperial palace and the Nijo-jo (castle) both are close and beautiful. We walked to several other temples and gardens needless to say again GREAT LOCATION! The hotel is practically next door (actually only a couple of shops away from a fantastic Pizza place (authentic Italian pizza), there was also a Ninja restaurant (very affordable and tasty) near by as well. Also there is a beautiful stream near by with bridges that cross it in several locations. The water is very pretty and a nice view from several restaurants near by. "

"We stayed here for 6 nights which is a relatively long time in a hotel so we got to really experience the service. It was great. The room we had was quite large compared to most we’ve experienced in Japan (we had a large twin room). The beds were really comfortable and had that luxury feel that often comes with good quality bedding and great pillows. The room was quiet (but we haven’t come across a noisy room yet in Japan - they don’t often use car horns thankfully) and our sleep was never disturbed. We and breakfast at the hotel several times - it was Japanese style but with enough variety to suit most people. One of the best things about the hotel was it’s lcoation. There are two of them in Kyoto. This is the one closest to Nishiki Markets. We were literally a block away from the main shopping area, and short walk to many attractions. Subways and the main lines were all within a minute or two also. Highly recommend this hotel. "
