Best hotel we’ve stayed in here in Japan! Room was perfect, went above and beyond for our expectations of cleanliness! On top of it being already immaculate it was cleaned thoroughly everyday! We had an option if we wanted our room not to be cleaned, simple cleaning (Fresh towels & minimal cleaning & then a clean where you can request to have your sheets changed). We got a bag of razors, ladies set, toothbrush & toothpaste etc refreshed every day & was able to take home! Washing machine & dryer on the basement level (Cheap compared to other hotels) and there was also a restaurant right out the front of the hotel! I can’t recommend nd this hotel enough!!! We loved our stay here so much! If we come back to Japan/Kyoto well 100% stay here again! Thankyou for the amazing service Hotel Resol xxx

First, location in Kyoto is topnotch. Near Hankyu train stations and Kyoto subway station so going to many places in Kyoto is easy. Very near Nishiki market and shopping malls, walking distance to Pontocho Alley and Gion. Facilities are great, tablet provided in the room to check availability of bathrooms etc. Very clean and brightly lighted. Common lounge area is spacious. Luggages can be kept for free or for a fee using IC card. Staff are very approachable. Solo room was comfortable even if small, just enough for a solo traveller with some space for a medium roller bag at the foot of the bed and a mini shoe rack under the bed. Shared bathroom (female floor) was very clean and complete with bathing needs. Keycard is needed to operate elevators and bathrooms so it feels safe.

Very conveniently located as a base to explore Kyoto. Walking distance to Nishiki Market and Arashiyama, Kinkakuji-ji and Nijo-jo are a short journey away. Only 2 stops to Kyoto Station that we used to travel to and from Tokyo and Hiroshima. The breakfast was one of the best of the hotels we stayed in during our trip to Tokyo and the croissants possibly the best I’ve ever had. I would recommend paying the extra for the premium rooms as these were much larger than you normally find in Japan and had a few extras like a daily drink coupon, better in room complimentary drinks and snack. It was also useful to have the toilet and sink/shower in separate rooms.

The hotel's location was perfect! Next to the river where you could just people watch from your river view room. Step out into the path and walk down to gion and pontocho with all the restaurants. Close to modern shopping, close to older part of town. Close to nishiki market. Few steps to bus lines and subway. The street is tree lined, nice stroll in the evenings, you're not afraid to walk around by yourself. Lots of restaurant near by... Staff very friendly. Public bath in property They give free water, toiletries, even when you don't want your room cleaned house keeping left a bag full of fresh towels, soap, etc in front of my door! The room is enough for 2 people, with a sofa to unwind... So happy with this hotel!

A very well located and convenience hotel - 1. About 700m from either Sanjo (take Exit 6) or Kawaramachi (take Exit 6 or 9) Stations; 2. In between 2 Shoppings centre - Teramachi & Shinkyogoku. At the longer end of these two shopping centres, you can find Fuji Daimaru and Takashimaya (Kawaramachi Station); 3. Less than 200m to Nishiki Market; 4. Less than 15minutes walk to Gion - Pontocho Dori St, Hanamikoji Dori St. Another 5 minutes, you will reach Yasaka Shrine. We actually walked to Nene No Michi St to Kodaji Temple and back tracked to Yasaka Shrine. 5. Many good food outlet surrounding the hotel. Must try is Tendon Makino (tempura in rice bowl) in the Teramachi shopping centre. We enjoyed our stay at Gracery South wing (newer wing) except the bedding. The bed was rather very firm. The pillows were just too flat to sleep on. We asked for extra pillow but still the flat one. My wife did not have good sleep for the 3 nights we were there. I have to agree with her as we came from other hotels and we can noticed the differences.

We booked four nights and had two connecting rooms. It was perfectly set up for our family of four. The hotel provided a baby cot at a small additional fee but it was all set up and ready when we arrived. The hotel was clean and offered snacks and drinks throughout the day. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but used the small coffee shops and cafes near by. A quiet street with easy access to the train station and loads of shops and restaurants. The staff were very helpful and attentive as well. Would stay here again for sure. PS - for parents with kids who love Pokémon - the Pokémon Centre is only a few blocks away. We had no idea when we booked this - but our son was in heaven!

I love everything about this hotel--the location, service, and facilities. We travel light, so the washing machine in the common area is a great perk. The size of the rooms is slightly bigger than the standard size in Japan, so that's a plus as well. The staff are friendly, helpful, and courteous. Also, the location is great, adjacent to a couple subway stations and a stone's throw away to Nishiki Market, Pontocho area, and Gion. Would definitely stay here again when we come back to Kyoto.

Initially chose this hotel based on reviews and price. The reviews seemed to repeat two things: amazing location and the free washer/dryer service! 1. The location was truly GREAT. Central Kyoto's shopping street was literally 50m away from the lobby. Teramachi Shopping Arcade (2min walk), Sanjo station (5min walk), Gion/Pontocho (10min walk). We were also surrounded by restaurants, bakeries and shops. It was great. 2. The washer/dryer service on level 2 really did come in handy! English instructions available, easy to follow. 3. 15 min taxi ride from Kyoto station (1000-1500 yen) 4. The room was very clean and also quite small! It's definitely efficient. As two Asian ladies, we fit just fine. Toiletries/towels were lovely and replenished daily, along with complimentary bottled water. Overall a great stay (especially for Kyoto first-timers), would definitely come back during our next Kyoto visit!

The hotel is located about a 10-15 min bus ride from Kyoto station and situated very close to the bus stops. It's got a very different look from the surrounding buildings so it's pretty easy to find even when you're a couple blocks away. Our room was huge for a Japanese hotel and everything was very clean. We booked the Japanese Deluxe 5 suite and the 5 of us had plenty of room to sprawl out. Our room (especially the bathroom) was beautiful with modern equipment (including a washer/dryer)! The smartphone gadget that came with the room was a very thoughtful amenity, although I did not use it very much. The staff seemed to be very fluent in English and were extremely helpful and professional. Our group had a wonderful experience at Mimaru and I highly recommend staying here you are in Kyoto!

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Kyoto. If you are travelling in Kyoto, bus is the best transportation mean & the hotel is just 1 min walking to the bus stop. The best thing is that there is a hot spring and you can relax yourself there. Staff are very friendly. There is a tourist information center with a staff on duty to show you the best route to go tourist places. Family Mart is just right next to the hotel. Many good restaurants nearby with late opening hours.

Grand Bach Kyoto is a nice hotel, we loved to stay here. We looked for the hotel in Kyoto since 3 months in advance, and we found that this hotel meet our inquiry, good price, location, free wifi in room and facilities. But for last minute booking i think the price was overrated, perhaps because of it's hard to find a hotel during the Gion Matsuri Festival (3rd largest festival in Japan). Fash check in and check out, hot bathtub also available (separated by gender) but we didn't have enough time to try. Free coffee, tea in restaurant as complimentary and o chazuke as supper (it's unique, rice with various pickles and hot green tea in a bowl). Our room was quite small, but as for Japan standard it is okay. There is one sofa for 2 persons inside the room, and we can put our two medium luggages as well. The bathroom is so nice and equipped with high tech shower. If you are coming from Tokyo (JR Shinkansen) you have to walk, it's quite far with big luggages, almost 15-20 minutes, but you don't have to go out of Kyoto Station, just follow the signs via underground passage to find exit 11, or better to ask information center before you decide to walk. From exit 11, it's so close and easy to find the hotel, there is a map in the hotel's website. If you are using Hankyu Line it will be an advantage. You can walk from the hotel to Gion district, Pontocho Street and Nishiki Market. If you want to visit Arashiyama area in Kyoto, Hankyu Kawaramachi Station is just 5 min walk from the hotel. Easy access, nice hotel.

This hotel has the perfect location (surrounded by restaurants, convenience store). Hot bath was great. They provide free amenities kit. The room is a bit small (we booked Triple room). The best thing about this hotel is that hotel staff are superb helpful and friendly. They do not say no to any requests and always willing to help. Free welcome drinks and dining areas are very good as well. Highly recommend.

This hotel is great - the location is perfect, easy to access public transport including the subway and wonderful bus services, and walking distance from many key attractions and shopping centres, as well as a great variety of dining spots on Pontocho Alley and along the Kamogawa river. The room was clean and stylish, they provide everything you could possibly need and the bed is really comfy- great for weary long haul travellers! The free coffee facilities in the hotel lounge are a nice touch, and the breakfast worth paying the extra for if you're keen to try the traditional Japanese breakfast.

This is a new hotel and everything is well-appointed. It's located a short walk from a subway station, a convenience store is a minute's walk away and walking distance to a shopping district. The room was Western hotel sized e.g. we had a triple room of three beds (not 2+sofa bed) and still had a room to move. The beds were comfy and aircon easy to control! Bathroom was also good. There is also a coin-operated laundry service, ice and vending machine. We didn't have breakfast option but a nearby cafe does a good breakfast deal. We've had some hits and misses in accomodation in our holiday around Japan and I'd 100% recommend this hotel as the best we stayed in.

This hotel is one of the best hotel I have ever lived in. The room is very spacious relative to other hotel in Japan. Very clean. The washing machine with drying function is great, with one pack of free washing powder provided. Cooking utensils and oven are great for saving money when i can cook A5 Wagyu beef from the supermarket. Free drinks provided from 7am-11pm, no need to worry about being thirsty. The bed is big and clean. The annex is very near to the subway station and bus stops. Walking distance to Nijojo Castle. Nothing to complain at all. and definitely to come again if visit Kyoto.

I was initially surprised at the size of the room but it is sufficient, might be abit small for couples/more as it was just nice with little walking space for me and my large luggage. The amenities are amazing for the price - super comfortable bed, TV (with only jap channels so i didn't watch at all), jap-style toilet with bidet, bath tub, strong & free wifi, safe box and a fridge. My only other complaint other than the space, is that the windows can't be opened and it blocks the sun - great for privacy, but one day i slept till 11am cos the whole room was dark and i did not know it was already 11am haha. Location is superb... nearest Family Mart/convenience store is less than a min away, 3mins walk from train and buses), 5mins walk away from takashimaya, daimaru, disney store, a whole stretch of shopping outlets, 5mins walk away from nishiki market, 15mins walk away from Gion and Pontocho, I had lovely strolls at night walking back to the hotel. Highly recommended!!!

I had a very good stay @ Mitsui Garden Kyoto Sanjo. The room was small but very well organized and clean. The bathroom, also quite small, looked nice and had a lot of space to use for your own stuff, and featured one of those typical Japanese short but very deep bathtubs, which I just happen to love. The bed was very comfortable, and although I first was a bit skeptical about the pillows, they turned out to be the most comfortable I have tried in a while. From Mitsui, which is just metres away from a subway station, one can easily walk to Kyoto's shopping/walking districts, Pontocho and Gion. It isn't far from Ni-Jo Castle, too. The reception area is very nice, and (as the name of the hotel suggests) boasts an impressive Japanese-style garden. Mitsui Sanjo also offers a nice, yet small, communal bath (sento), which is the ideal way to relax after a day of walking.

This was the best accommodation for our trip in Japan. The reception was a challenge to locate which we ended up have to ask for help to find the place. Although they do provide shuttle bus, but there wasn't fix timing so we ended up took a bus to reach the hotel(4mins walk from the bus stop) with the help of the receptionist. The receptionist furnished us the info of how to get to the hotel and how to get the key card for self check-in. You may leave your luggage at the reception and collect later but there isn't any service to tranfer your luggage to the hotel. Alternative, the luggage can be stored at the hotel store room with no fee charged (self service). The staff at the reception were very polite, friendly and helpful. They were very fast and responsive(email). The room was spacious, spotless and comfy. The room was well equipped with all the facilities and extra Japanese snack. It was a pleasant experience and value for money, I give a thumb up!

very impressed! although room was small which most Japan hotels are, it was really clean & comfortable. almost all toiletries needed are being provided including pyjamas as well. don't waste your luggage space, they even provide bath salts, body scrub towels, body lotion, shaving cream & after shave lotion! location was perfect for us, karasuma station is just a 5mins walk, bus stops located just outside & directly opposite hotel, convenient store is just across the street, 5 mins walk to the sheltered shopping streets at shijo karasuma, 10-15 mins walk to nishiki market/teramachi, another 5 mins to pontocho, another 5 mins to shijo gion area. many Kyoto city bus available for all famous attractions, we even manage to get a bus here to go to Ohara. Our one & only complaint was that the pillows provided were really small & flat, tried requesting for additional pillows but as hotel was fully booked, they couldn't provide extras.

The hotel is in a great location central to Kyoto. It is walking distance to the subway line allowing easy access to get around for site seeing. You can also purchase an all-day bus pass OR an all day bus & subway pass from the front desk to save some money if you have a full day of site seeing ahead. It is also walking distance to pontocho where there's a large variety of restaurants and bars contained within various alleyways to explore. The hotel itself also has a Japanese style restaurant and an Italian restaurant (I did not try either so I cannot give information on the dining experience). Overall, I think it was a great stay and a good value for my money.

Loving this hotel so much. It's really near to the subway station Karasuma line, which you can ride to Kyoto Station or switch to the popular Hankyu Kyoto line. There are also bus station nearby. Going anywhere in the city is very easy. Furthermore, the rooms are really good! You'll get clean and modern bathroom, wide beds, a phone that you can take outside to act as your guide or internet source, kitchen (need to rent the kitchen equipment), and the best.. WASHING MACHINE + detergent AND DRYER. I love how I can wash all my winter underwear and dry them with dryer system inside the bathroom.

This hotel is quiet, and very welcoming. Staff were extremely friendly, and made the effort to make our stay very enjoyable. One of the women even chased us down to tell us that she would be on days off, would miss our departure and wished us the best. The breakfast buffet is excellent catering to both Japanese and Western tastes, and a special mention must go to the hotel onsen which is perfect at the end of a day spent walking. The icing on the cake for service was us realising the day after check out that our 4yr old daughter had left her beloved toy rabbit behind; she was in tears and yet a quick call to the hotel had them find it and offer to post it to our hotel in Tokyo. We are indebted and she is very thankful! Thanks for the stay, we'd love to come back, and will if we are in Kyoto.

Pros: - really good location, access to 2 different train lines [5min walk from Exit 5, one line going north south 2 stops from Kyoto stn & other going east (1 stop from gion) west], - 10min walk to Shijo Dori Bus stop (takes you to kinkakuji & other attractions), - 15min walk to Nishiji market - Very helpfull staff. Mo trouble with English, always happy to help. - New hotel so facilities are immaculate. Small rooms from western standards but they're well designed & include alll amenities. Bathroom was a lot larger compared to most airbnb's we stayed in during our trip (wished it's Tokyo branch was a similar price). - Laundry on lvl 5 was great as it allowed us to travel light. We booked via Agoda & was cheaper than booking direct with hotel. - $10 buffet breakfast was good value for money - convenience stores right at the door step.

Very clean room, everything super clean. Spacious and with a washingmachine and small kitchen included. Its really a 10/10 A friendly receptionist which helped us a lot with our questions about sightseein around kyoto. I can really recommend this Hotel! You get a lot for a "cheap" price. We stayed in 3 hotels in kyoto. This one was by far the best. Hahaha i dont comment that mich normally but we really enjoyed our stay! Thanks again !

Hotel is about 7 minutes walk away from Shijo Station (Exit 2) or Karasuma Station. From Exit 2 of Shijo Station turn left and walk straight down the street for 7 minutes. You will see Hotel Mystays at your right. Kyoto is best visited by City Bus. Bus Stop is just outside the Hotel. You may purchase the City Bus Day Ticket at JPY500 at the Hotel Lobby. Free Coffee/ Matcha: Lobby (6:00 am - 8:00 pm) Buffet Breakfast: JPY 1,500/ person (7:00 – 9:30 am) Buffet Lunch: JPY 1,404/ person (11:30 – 2:30 pm) Buffet Dinner: JPY 1,620/ person (5:00 – 9:00 pm) Coin operated laudry is available at JPY 200, Dryer JPY100/ 30 minutes, Detergent JPY100. The staff in the Hotel seldom greet the guest with smile. However, they do help when you are asking for attraction direction.

This is my first time staying at Noku Kyoto. Since I check-in at 3pm, the lady at front desk showed her warm welcome to me and conducted the check-in procedure with her friendliness and sincerity. Besides, she did explain some important notes to me in detailed with her patience. I can truly tell that I was experiencing the great services of a 5-star hotel standard since I stepped into Noku Kyoto; the first approach already made me feel impressive. After check-in, my parcel & I were brought to guest room by another front desk lady, she did show me & invite me to enjoy the in-room complimentary snacks and coffee with her warmest hospitality; and also help to place my parcel well inside the room. Besides, the room was spacious with simple but comfortable interior design. In room facilities were sufficient and cater to guest's need. Even I think that it's much better than those luxury ones in premier international hotel brands. Apart from the room, my room plan included the morning breakfast. The guests are entitled to choose Japanese style or Western style breakfast that serving per portion per person. Even it was not in buffet style, the portion of western style breakfast was enough to made you full in the morning. I appreciated the breakfast included freshly made orange juice and vegetables that made it healthy. In a conclusion, I did absolutely enjoy staying at Noku Kyoto. If you would like to have a intensive visit to Kyoto city, you may consider staying here for a relaxation accommodation. Moreover, it's just only 4 metro stations from Kyoto Station; but not that crowd of people/tourists nearby the Kyoto station area, it's much enrich the vacation atmosphere. I would love to stay at Noku again while I come back Kyoto next time.
