"The hotel is in the quiet side of the Togetsu bridge, same side as the Monkey park, a must do also. Plenty sights within walking distance like the Tenryuji Temple a World Unesco sight and Bamboo forest. The rooms are spacious. We were 3 adults and plenty room for our big suitcases. The cafe only serves breakfast & lunch until 5 pm. They allow food to be brought in for dinner. It is excellent and for the healthy people in mind. The rooms, linens, towels are 5 star. Except there is no appliance for making your own coffee or tea so if you wake up early, no hot drinks. We wake up at 6 am and the cafe opens at 7:30. You can go down and request for a hot pot of water so a bit of an inconvenience. Their coffee is excellent so if one can wait do try their coffee. Love the tub and shower, felt like a spa. This hotel is very stylish. Contemporary Japanese and there is plenty of info on the wall, books about Kyoto. Really love The staff are very helpful and friendly."

"Good service and clean. Both Dinner and breakfast are plentiful and delicious. Rooms are clean. Price is reasonable. Will be better if they have more instructions in English. However, staff are very helpful and try their best to explain. Location is good, right opposite to the train station of the Arashiyama station of the Hankyu Arahiyama Line. But is also accessible by bus (route 28 & 73) outside the Kyoto JR train station. We took a stroll down from hotel to Togetsukyo Bridge in the morning. It was very pleasant and peaceful. "

"This delightful Ryokan was just outside Kyoto. We planned our trip in the morning so that we would have our last port of call Kinkakuji. From there we hunted around for a Lawson station and bought a few snacks and drinks for after dinner. We caught 2 taxies near the "Golden Pavilion". The cost was each which was well worth it since we had a group of 6 and we were all tired from a big day. Staff greeted us and we were very happy with the room. He speaks some English was very welcoming. Around the corner we ate at the attached restaurant. The Donburi was excellent value at Y980. We had a relaxing bath and back to our rooms for some IPAD karaoke and chuhi on the landing outside our rooms. Everything was clean and gorgeous. The access to WiFi and a computer was an added bonus. Breakfast was a choice of western (toast, coffee, eggs)or Japanese . Both were great. We were able to catch the JR bus almost outside next day to Enmachi Station then a short train ride to Arashiyama. Best stay in Japan I've had at a small Ryokan and excellent value. Don't be put off by the location. The beautiful gardens and traditional feel make it worthwhile. Recommend you stop at the visitors centre when you arrive at Kyoto Stn and discuss your options with the staff there. "

"This hostel was so perfectly clean and relaxing. The staff were so accommodating and spoke very good English. There are bicycles to use. I think this hostel is great for more mature adults (30+) who want to relax but not be around the craziness of youth hostels. It is around the corner from the Hankyu train station, also close to a convenient store and a nice short walk to the iconic bridge to watch the sunset. I really enjoyed my time in Arashiyama and this place helped make my stay more pleasurable. They clean the hostel every day at 10:00a so around that time you cannot use the facilities. My one complaint about it is that they could choose a later time to clean in the afternoon when no one is around. Other than that, I had a great stay and definitely would stay there again. I highly recommend the private tatami room if you are staying as a couple. "
