"This hostel was so perfectly clean and relaxing. The staff were so accommodating and spoke very good English. There are bicycles to use. I think this hostel is great for more mature adults (30+) who want to relax but not be around the craziness of youth hostels. It is around the corner from the Hankyu train station, also close to a convenient store and a nice short walk to the iconic bridge to watch the sunset. I really enjoyed my time in Arashiyama and this place helped make my stay more pleasurable. They clean the hostel every day at 10:00a so around that time you cannot use the facilities. My one complaint about it is that they could choose a later time to clean in the afternoon when no one is around. Other than that, I had a great stay and definitely would stay there again. I highly recommend the private tatami room if you are staying as a couple. "

"I think Togetsutei Hotel is excellent, the service is excellent and the meal is great, but cannot expect a "all you can eat" quantity, but still, I think is good enough for a normal dinner. staffs can speak simple English. However, the room is not the type of room that I expected when I do the booking through Agoda, the information from Agode is not accurate and not details enough, the actual bathroom is different from the photo of the bathroom that I see when I did the booking through Agoda. This is the only thing that I don't feel good at all and there is nothing to do with Togetsutei Hotel, just Agoda need to improve the way to book this kind of Japanese onsen ryokan and I was disappointed by Agoda."
