Just in time to check in, a short stroll nearby to experience the local everyday's life in this quiet part of Cultural Capital. A designer machiya in Gion. Harmonious between traditional and modern heritage. Filled with Japanese cultural atmosphere bridging a blend of tradition yet modern styling to form a new vibe in Higashiyama area. Bar金色Konjiki is another highlig...

I found out that I've made a mistake on the booking and booked smoking rooms instead of non smoking rooms. To my surprise, the front desk staff did everything within their capability to get us non smoking rooms. Not only did the front desk miss got us non smoking rooms but one of the rooms had an amazing view of the temple and mountains. It was gorgeous. I think that r...

My first time with a minimal-human interaction hotel. Arrived Kyoto station mid-morning, walked to the office as instructed by email (about 10-15 minutes, with help from Google maps), left our luggage, advised to wait until 4pm for check-in. Did some sight-seeing and eating, returned to office at 4pm. Shuttle bus to the Japaning Higashiyama Sanjo (there are other Japan...

This hotel is located about 100m from the commuter/subway station. Which makes it easier for those who use public transport. Many eateries around the hotel. It's location in the Gion area only steps away from Gion corner, Shirakawago river, philosophy walk and a few beautiful temples. We booked 2 rooms at the ground floor. Rooms are sparkling clean. Toilets and bathro...

My stay at the Miyako Kyoto Hotel was everything I hoped for and more. The hospitality and room were perfect. The location was the real reason everyone should come to the hotel. Walking distance to Keage station and easy walking to Ginkaku-ji temple. Lovely people and very friendly. Will go back when in Kyoto again.

We had a western style room (they also have Japanese style rooms with futons), very spacious and comfortable. Many temples and shrines and beautiful gardens to see in this traditional, old-Japan neighborhood . Everywhere you look, beauty! The Maifukan staff was excellent, everybody pleasant and very helpful, with good English speaking skills. A lovely Japanese style...

This hotel is small without many facilities and therefore seems pretty expensive for what you get. The room was lovely though, really spacious and the staff were courteous and welcoming. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Gion and very close to the station for travelling to other sights. Exactly what we needed for our stay.

Nice and comfortable hotel in Kyoto. The rooms are tiny but clean and warm. The staff is very helpful and speaks English, they were so kind to book us restaurants in japanese. Make sure you try the night bar, no cover fee and a great bartender, Hide, who will take care of you with the best drinks.

Our 6 nights here in Kyoto Travelers Inn Hotel was wonderful. First of all, the hotel is comfortably located in the Higashiyama area, right besides Heian-Jingu Shrine and the Nanzen-ji Temple. The bus stop is 3 minutes away. There is even a 7-eleven store just around the corner. The staff have also been very friendly. They offered us help whenever they could and the...

The hotel is a short walk from the local station, Sanjo, following an easy transfer from the central train station. Walking back towards Sanjo station (i.e. towards the river) takes you into the main shopping and dining precinct - only a few hundred metres. Heading off in any other direction will bring you towards the many shrines and temples that make up the area, so ...

Located right by the Hanamikoji Street in the Gion area and just a 3-minute walk from Yasaka Shrine, Hotel In Kyoto Sasarindou features air-conditioned Western rooms with a private bath, an LCD satellite TV and an electric kettle. The lobby has a free-use internet PC. Each room at Hotel In Kyoto has a unique design with a stylish ceiling. Slippers and toiletries are pr...

The hotel staff was super gracious and they did their best to accommodate us. The Japanese beds were very comfortable and the room size was larger that I expected. Love the large public bath, definitely give it a try. The convenient location is super wonderful, we were able to access all the lovely spots by Godai Ji and Kiyomizu with ease.

Memorable! Great walking tour and cherry blossom viewing, relaxing evenings in quiet neighborhood. Easy access on foot or bus to NE Kyoto: we walked the Philosopher's Path with incredible cherry blossoms along the way, visited the Ginkakuji Temple, Honen-in Temple, Nanzenji Temple, Heian Shrine, Kyoto Handicraft Center and Kyoto Museum of Traditional Craft, all from...

chose this hotel as it looks like a very pretty boutique hotel. however room was very small and bed is really terrible! very hard bed it’s like sleeping on the floor. one thing about holidays is restful sleep but this was a super big NO NO. so unless the hotel changes its mattress please reconsider booking. room did not have any mirror for me to do my makeup and when m...

The place has such an amazing location. Train station right in front. Pontocho shopping area nearby. The staff was good for the most part, but at times it did feel like we were a burden. This not a hotel, but condominium type apartments/bed and breakfast.

Everything was excellent, from the initial welcome at the door to the final goodbye. The room was ample, very clean, with good tatami and futtons. Breakfast, served in the room, was superb. The bathroom attached to the bed room was the standard tiny ryokan bathroom. The location is very convenient, 3min from the subway and train station, just on the other side of the b...

When we arrived, we did not expect that this is a "service apartment" in Ryokan style. After we phone to Hiro-san, and get the correct passcode to enter the Ryokan, we immediately felt in love with the place. There is a lovely Sakura plant in the garden, where we see its full blossom. There are two toilets, that comes with wooden bath tubs that you can do your own o...
