"Brilliant location very close to the station on the quieter side of town. Exquisitely designed and finished in contemporary Japanese style. Best bed we have ever slept on. We had the rear garden room which was very quiet and private. Staff were absolutely delightful, warm and incredibly helpful. Fantastic French/Japanese fusion restaurant right next door and other little local dining haunts close by, laundromat and gourmet supermarket 150m away. A true boutique hotel experience which we recommend in a heartbeat. And make sure you buy bread or pastries from the fabulous Marché while you are in town. "

"Our dinner was great. Served by a lovely old lady. However our breakfast was served by a young lady who did not have much eye contact with us. The room is very spacious and its newly renovated. Clean and comfortable . We love the yukata provided. The futon bed is a bit old so I suggest them to change a new sheet . Walking to bamboo forest is near. The ryokan just few steps away from the bridge across the river. Great view "

"The hotel is in the quiet side of the Togetsu bridge, same side as the Monkey park, a must do also. Plenty sights within walking distance like the Tenryuji Temple a World Unesco sight and Bamboo forest. The rooms are spacious. We were 3 adults and plenty room for our big suitcases. The cafe only serves breakfast & lunch until 5 pm. They allow food to be brought in for dinner. It is excellent and for the healthy people in mind. The rooms, linens, towels are 5 star. Except there is no appliance for making your own coffee or tea so if you wake up early, no hot drinks. We wake up at 6 am and the cafe opens at 7:30. You can go down and request for a hot pot of water so a bit of an inconvenience. Their coffee is excellent so if one can wait do try their coffee. Love the tub and shower, felt like a spa. This hotel is very stylish. Contemporary Japanese and there is plenty of info on the wall, books about Kyoto. Really love The staff are very helpful and friendly."
