A hotel with beautiful scenery, friendly staff, clean rooms, and delicious breakfast with great value for money. It was my favorite hotel during my 3-night, 4-day trip to Kyoto.”
This is the best hotel we stayed at during our 3-night, 4-day trip to Kyoto. Even considering the off-season, the price was unbelievably cheap at around 100,000 won per night for two people including breakfast. The location and scenery were great, but the friendly service, comfort, and cleanliness were even better than the 4-star hotel we stayed at previously. Even the simple Japanese-style breakfast was delicious. The hotel is located right in front of Togetsukyo Bridge and behind Arashiyama Park, offering beautiful views. My mother, who traveled with me, also approved of this place. The bus stop "Arashiyama Park" is right in front of the hotel, and most tourist attractions are within walking distance. Our room was on the third floor, and when we opened the door, we could hear the sound of the river flowing around Arashiyama Park, which was very refreshing. The double-paned windows provided excellent soundproofing, making the room very quiet when closed. At first, I was not impressed by the hotel's appearance in the photos, and I didn't expect much from it because it was the cheapest room available, and the room was not very spacious. The hotel has three floors, with the first floor being the hotel counter, restaurant, terrace, and bicycle parking lot, and the second and third floors being guest rooms. There are only four rooms per floor, for a total of eight rooms, which is why the hotel is more meticulous and attentive than other hotels. The staff is very friendly. We left our luggage at the hotel in the morning and checked in later in the evening. Although there was no elevator, it was not very inconvenient because there were only three floors, and the room was not as luxurious as a high-end hotel, but it was comfortable enough. The bathroom and toilet were combined, and the bathtub was small, typical of Japanese-style. The cold water pressure was strong, and it was easy to fill the small bathtub with warm water, making it comfortable to take a bath. There was a slight smell of chlorine in the water. The night view of Togetsukyo Bridge was also beautiful, and we felt great wearing the Japanese-style pajamas provided by the hotel and taking pictures. The bed was very comfortable, and I accidentally fell asleep. Since there were many tourists, we couldn't have dinner and rented bicycles in the evening to go out for dinner. The staff kindly checked the bicycles to make sure they were in good condition. I highly recommend renting bicycles from the hotel. They are well-maintained and easy to ride. There were four bicycles available, and they were free when we rented them. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and I heard that they can be used even after check-out. Arashiyama is quiet and has few cars in the early morning or after 7 pm, making it a great place to ride bicycles. After having a delicious dinner and a good night's sleep, we had breakfast from 6:30 am to 9:00 am. If you sit at the first-floor table, the staff will serve you. The Japanese-style breakfast was simple and satisfying, with a reasonable amount of food compared to most buffet breakfasts. After eating rice, we could choose from various drinks, coffee, and ice cream for dessert, and the staff would serve us on the terrace, which had a fantastic view. We accidentally checked out 30 minutes late, thinking it was 11:00 am instead of 10:00 am, but the staff was very understanding. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Arashiyama next time. It is suitable for couples as well as families. The only downside is that there are no convenience stores, famous restaurants, or cafes nearby, but it may be even better because it is less crowded and quieter.
I hope you will stay at Arashiyama for at least one day.”
1. The employees are really kind. 2. The accommodation is clean. 3. The location is great as it is close to Arashiyama Station and it takes only about 5 minutes on foot to get to Togetsukyo Bridge. The location is perfect. 4. If you open the window, you can see Togetsukyo Bridge and the river right away, which is very satisfying. When you open the window, you can hear the sound of water and feel the refreshing air, which is so good that I almost cried. 5. If you stay here, you can get a discount coupon for Onsen Hufu no Yu. I went to the hot springs every day during my 2-night, 3-day stay, and I was very satisfied. 6. The room is quite spacious. 7. The surroundings are quiet. Arashiyama seems to be generally quiet. There are only two downsides: 1. There is no elevator. However, this is somewhat offset by the fact that there are employees who will carry your luggage for you. But I felt really sorry for them because my luggage was heavy. 2. There are no convenience stores or good restaurants nearby. You have to walk about 10 minutes to get to a convenience store like Lawson or Family Mart. The same goes for good restaurants serving local cuisine like domi. However, this can also be offset to some extent. As Arashiyama Station is not far from Kyoto Station, those who travel leisurely can go back and forth between the two stations. I went back and forth like that, and it felt like I was living here, which was actually nice.
Great staying experience with reasonable price”
Small hotel but cozy; good location for both coming by public transport and driving; free parking at the hotel door; room is spacious and clean with stunning bridge and Mountain View; braskfast is Japanese set which is very delicious. Overall, a good choice if hotel type is preferred
Lovely breakfast, great staff ”
This small hotel has an elevator, lovely complimentary snacks, and a fantastic breakfast. Aircon, humidifyer, kettle, shower and bathtub, and other amenities were all working. The one thing I needed that this place didn't provide was a way to launder my clothing. The closest coin laundry is about 30min walk away, quicker on bicycle which you can borrow freely. Staff were lovely.
The location is superb”
And honestly, the area surrounding the hotel itself is beautiful like a glimpse of the past. The hotel also gives you a river view and you can see the togetsukyo bridge. But note that the main station is asaga-arashiyama station. For easy access to Kyoto and all, this is the station you need, not arashiyama station
