I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The service was top-notch, the rooms and facilities were exceptionally clean, and the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend! From check in to check out, everything was perfect. The staff made me feel very welcome, the hotel was spotless.
It was conveniently located just a short distance from Arashiyama Station and a 3-minute walk to the natural hot spring (Fufu no Yu). Unlike hotels with hot springs on the premises, it offered reasonably priced accommodations, but there was always staff at the front desk providing comfortable service. On rainy days, we were lent an umbrella each, which was really helpful, and they also took our luggage to our room that we had left in advance. It was nice to find a bottle of water for each guest in the room as well. The nearby hot spring facility was also beautiful, and we enjoyed staying there for a long time.
Kindness. Cleanliness. Surroundings. Services. Nothing is lacking. First of all, it is incredibly clean. There isn't a speck of dust anywhere in the hallways, bathrooms, beds, etc. The curtains in the hallway are as clean as if they were washed yesterday. It seems like an older hotel, but it is very neat and has no smell at all. The room is spacious and comfortable, so I slept well. The view from the window is also very beautiful. There are pretty and well-maintained bicycles, allowing me to happily explore the neighborhood. The best part was the kindness of the staff. From check-in, the staff was very considerate and friendly. Whenever I mentioned something I needed, they responded joyfully. After check-out, I left my luggage and went to the temple, and they neatly folded my underwear that I had accidentally left in the room and placed it in a pretty bag in my luggage. I was so grateful. I plan to return to this place in the fall.
Small hotel but cozy; good location for both coming by public transport and driving; free parking at the hotel door; room is spacious and clean with stunning bridge and Mountain View; braskfast is Japanese set which is very delicious. Overall, a good choice if hotel type is preferred

“Great scenery and friendly staff, clean rooms, delicious breakfast, the ultimate value for money, my favorite hotel during my 3-night, 4-day trip to Kyoto.”
This is the best hotel I stayed at during my 3-night, 4-day trip to Kyoto. With breakfast included for two, the price was in the low 100,000 won range, and even considering the off-season, it felt incredibly cheap. The location and scenery were excellent, but the friendly service, comfort, and cleanliness were better than the 4-star hotel I stayed at prior. The simple kaiseki-style breakfast was also delightful. It's located right in front of Togetsukyo, behind Arashiyama Park, so the view is fantastic. My mother, who traveled with me, also approved of the place! You can catch the bus right in front at the 'Arashiyama Park' stop, and if you don’t go too far, most places are within walking distance. Our room was on the third floor, and the Katsura River flows beside the hotel, creating a refreshing sound when you open the window, which has double-glazing that keeps the noise out, making it very quiet when closed. At first, I thought the hotel looked quite old and wasn’t sure what kind of guesthouse it was, but since the location was good, I didn't set my expectations too high. It was the cheapest room, so it wasn’t large either. The building has three floors with the lobby, restaurant, terrace, and bike parking on the first floor, while the second and third floors have guest rooms. There are only four rooms on each floor, making a total of eight, so it feels more tidy and well-cared for compared to other hotels. The staff were really friendly. Initially, I left my bags at the hotel in the morning and checked in later that evening. While there is no elevator, there are only three floors, so I didn’t find it too inconvenient. The room wasn’t the latest luxury hotel feel, but it was comfortable overall. The bathroom and toilet are combined, and the bathtub is small and meant for one person, in typical Japanese style. After sightseeing, I checked in in the afternoon and took a shower; the water pressure for both hot and cold water was strong, and I quickly filled the small tub with warm water to wash off, which was very relaxing. There was a slight chlorine smell in the water. The night view of Togetsukyo was beautiful, and I took some photos in the Japanese-style pajamas provided by the hotel, feeling quite pleased. The bed was so soft that I lay down for just a moment and inadvertently fell asleep. There were too many tourists, so I hadn't eaten dinner during the day, but when I decided to go out for dinner later, I rented a bike, and the staff kindly checked to ensure the bike was in good condition before lending it to me. You should definitely rent a bike from the hotel; it’s really fun and the bikes are well-maintained and ride smoothly. There were a total of four bikes available, and when we rented them, it was free. It seems first-come, first-served. According to other reviews, it appears you can also use the bikes after checkout, so you could leave your luggage and still take advantage of them. In the early morning or after 7 PM, Arashiyama is quiet with few tourists or cars, making it a great time for biking. You can travel to car-free areas. After a delicious dinner, I had a good night's sleep and woke up for breakfast, which is served from 6:30 to 9:00. If you sit at the table on the first floor, they will serve you. The Japanese-style breakfast felt tidy and was a reasonable portion compared to a typical breakfast buffet, which was satisfying. After enjoying breakfast, you can choose from coffee, drinks, and ice cream for dessert, and they serve it on the terrace in front... the view from the terrace on the first floor is stunning. I mistakenly thought check-in was at 11 AM instead of 10, and I checked out 30 minutes late, but they were very understanding, which touched me. I will definitely choose this hotel again when I return to Arashiyama. I traveled with my mother, but it would also be nice to come here with a partner. One downside is that there aren’t convenience stores or famous restaurants or cafes right nearby, but that might actually be a good thing as it keeps the area less crowded and quiet.
