The hotel is one subway stop south of Kyoto Station. There is not much going on south of Kyoto Station in terms of shopping or nightlife, afaik. But the convenient of having a subway station a couple hundred meters away and a bus terminal right across the street is very very nice. The room is compact but clean and modern. There is an onsen too if you like. The neighborhood is very quiet at night. The internet speed isn't great (about 8 mbps). Definitely good for the price if you don't need fast internet speed for anything.

We didn’t use any of the facilities, but the room itself was very spacious and clean. It felt a bit dated, but otherwise everything was great. I’m not sure why some reviews rate it as a 3-star hotel—I’d say it deserves a 3.5 to 4 out of 5. The location is convenient, with the metro about a 10-minute walk away and a bus stop right outside the hotel. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and plenty of space made for a solid stay.

The hotel is in a great location, close to Kyoto Station. It's a clean and pleasant place with a public bath where you can enjoy an onsen. They provide amenities like an ice maker, instant or drip bag coffee at the counter, and a microwave, which are very convenient if you need anything. One thing to note is that the staff doesn't speak English well and gave me incorrect directions to my room. They told me it was in the next building, so I left the main building, but they didn't stop me even though they saw me leaving. They might have thought I was going somewhere else first. I had to go back and ask for the correct directions again. It was a funny moment, but just be careful about this.

“2 night stay in kyoto”
Cons: First impressions were rough. The guy at the front desk didn't seem very happy or in a good mood. We arrived 20 minutes before checkin and he turned us away saying the room wasn't ready yet. What ever, its their policy I guess, but he could've been nicer about it. Atleast he was nice enough to let us keep our bags there till we checked in. When we returned, the ladies at the front desk were nicer to deal with. The bed in the room was really uncomfortable, the mattress felt like a rock, possibly the hardest bed I've slept on to date. The "tv" in the room was a 20 inch computer monitor... The room design also felt dated. I was there to explore the city so i wasn't that upset with it. Pros: breakfast was decent with a good selection but on the smaller side. They also indicate what each dish contained to be considerate of your dietary restrictions. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel! Super convenient. Its also walking distance from the train station, and the nearby mall. Overall it was an OK experience but i wouldn't come back in my subsequent stays in kyoto.
