"Hotel is in the perfect location on a quiet side street in Gion. Hotel is modern, efficient and incredibly spotless. The Onsen - separate for men and women - is a nice touch, especially when traveling in colder weather months. Seamless check-in and check-out, friendly staff, warm interiors. Some room types are small and very compact, yet efficiently designed. Stayed four nights and did not mind the small size. It worked well for the two of us. "

"- Location: Such a perfect location. It's located in heats of Gion where is the most historical Area in Japan. - Facility: Completely brand New, and clean. Staffs are working hard to keep clean. The mattress is perfectly comfortable. (didn't want to wake up!) There are 3 floors as: Only for man, Only for woman, man and woman mixed. We are 5 ppl man and woman mixed group, so stayed at Mixed floor. 1st floor is entire free space for everyone. We enjoyed there with cooking, and drinking. - Staff: All staff are such a nice and friendly. They are very nice and friendly, so every time we back to hotel, we felt like coming back to our home! We guess there's nothing to better than this hotel (hostel) in Japan. Strongly recommend. We will back here soon!"

"This was probably the best hostel i have stayed and super good for the value of money. The hostel was a little hard to find initially, but its definitely worth the find. Its located away from the main street so you can expect quite environment. First of all, the staffs were very welcoming and friendly. They guided and provided few suggestions during my stay there. Beds were very comfortable and the facilities were beyond expectation. They have separate toliets and bathrooms for gents and ladies and these are fully equiped with toiletries for free. Excellent amenities! Tables and chairs are available at the reception area for dining. There is coffee vending machine available in the hostel. They stay was too good that i went back again after few days of traveling to other place. Location is very strategic as it is close to the train station and also few main attractions in Gion. Highly recommended for solo travellers."

"Wish I could keep this place secret. It was fully booked when I stayed - for good reason. Staff speak adequate English and are very nice and helpful. Amazing kind friendly professional staff. Typical Japan. Capsule room is comfortable - on Japanese futon cotton bedding - and sleep rooms are non-smoking, clean and comfortable. Quiet except for snorers (maybe bring ear plugs). Not recommended for claustrophobes though. Large luggage kept at checkin and store clothes smal items in small locker inside. Communal Bathing/Sauna area is on another floor. Need take lift elevator to top 6th Floor. Japanese style so male communal bathing with shared hot tubs, sauna, and steam rooms (and relax lounge and massage areas). Have nice outdoor jacuzzi. Traditionally no swimwear worn in water or sauna area so not recommend if you body shy. They clean sauna bathing area between 9:30 and 12 everyday (so plan your shower before or after this time). Restaurant connected to sauna and relax areas serves nice basic family Japanese food (noodles, sushi, curry rice). Included breakfast is Japanese style (rice, eggs, miso soup, grilled fish). Delicious and free breakfast. Love this place. Will stay again if its not always booked out. Location is right in heart of Gion... few train stops from Kyoto Station but near sites like Ginkakuji and Kiyomizo and Pontocho. Clean and comfortable wirh great staff. Very Japanese. "

"My wife and I traveled to Kyoto from Osaka. We took the Hankyu Line over JR because the terminal stop at Kawaramachi was just a 10-minute walk to the hotel in Gion, near the Yasaka Shrine. This was the perfect location for us as we explored the eastern side of Kyoto from the Ginkakuji to Kiyomizu and further south to Byodo-in and Fushimi Inari. The hotel room was small but comfortable and well designed. If you're traveling with large suitcases, it might be too tight. Check-in/out was quick and easy, having pre-paid thru Agoda. The front desk is on the second floor, and we bypassed it most of the time during our four-night stay. So we didn't interact much with staff, but had no needs or complaints. Many top sites are within walking distance, and several nearby buses take you everywhere else. This is a colorful part of Kyoto, where dozens of visitors rent yukata (summer kimono) to stroll the streets, and you can still catch a rare Geisha or Maiko going to or fro."
