The absolute waterfront Bund location allows for jaw-dropping panoramic views over the curving Huangpu River and boulevard, and across to the effervescent skyline of Shanghai CBD. The hotel itself is aesthetically stunning, and would be deserving of a visit if only for the high-quality refurbishment. The interior has been lovingly restored, with an understated decor & a sympathy for its cultural origins that is almost non-existent in China (which is so prone to low-quality bling & gaudiness). The rooms are elegant, well-appointed, and sumptuous. The staff are warm and professional. The restaurant dining was a delight (although I disagree that any restaurant menu should be presented on an iPad). The food and wine was some of the best I have experienced in China. The breakfast spread was similarly exemplary. The only let down was the baffling absence of anywhere within the establishment to procure a decent drink, i.e. spirits or cocktails. More baffling was the nightly display of bottled spirits showcased within a backlit antique cabinet in foyer; the contents of which are not available for purchase from anywhere in the hotel. I would not hesitate to recommend to friends and colleagues and will certainly be returning to this hotel... albeit armed with my own bottle of Chivas Regal!

this hotel was just fabulous. we stayed with a 6,5 &1 year old and loved it!! of the 4 4/5 star hotels we stayed in in china this was definitely my favourite. it is a magnificent looking hotel with very friendly english speaking staff. the restaurant was very accommodating to us and we're able to get high chair for our bub. (bring a high chair type thing if coming to china because most places don't have them). there is a court yard that is in the center of the hotel so we let our little ones run around and play and no one minded as it was just us this is all round an excellent hotel and i really wish we had stayed here on our return to shanghai. location is also great!!! ♡ it!!!

Pros: About a 10 minute walk from the shopping/tourist area of Wangfujing and near some great hutongs that aren't overrun with tourists. Superior room booked through Agoda was very spacious. The bed was very comfortable and cleaning staff did a good job every day, though the room itself was showing clear signs of wear (some peeling wallpaper, old caulking in the shower). Bathroom was also very large, with one standing shower and one shower/tub combo and large vanity. The gym, though small, was decent and an uncommon amenity in hotels in China. Cons: We were in a non-smoking room, but could sometimes smell smoke while in our own room. After checking out of the hotel 4 days later, my clothes smelled strongly of smoke. The front desk staff was as a whole very accommodating and friendly. However, I had one negative experience where we had made a new reservation on Agoda to extend our stay and settled everything with the front desk that morning, but a man called that afternoon saying that we had to check out. He was extremely rude and condescending when I went down to explain that we had already confirmed the new reservation that morning. He refused to look at my Agoda confirmation and said there were no rooms left. Luckily, the woman who had helped us that morning was there and showed him our new reservation in the system. Second bad experience was with the bellhop: when going to the airport, he was very rude and impatient when we asked him for help getting a taxi (as the front desk has told us to do). Generally, it was hit or miss with the bellhops--some smiled and were helpful, others just stared and watched you struggle with luggage. Despite two bad experiences, our stay at the Prime Hotel was good and I would stay again. This is definitely more of a 4 star hotel and doesn't compare to the service you would get at a place like the Westin. However, it's a great deal through Agoda.

I visit Qingdao regularly for business and as with all my destinations research all possible hotels as much as possible. Initially I could find little or no information / reviews about Far Glory, especially on Tripadvisor. As with all Chinese hotels I was skeptical about reviews and information provided online. Farglory is an amazing hotel. It is located almost next door to may 4th square right in CBD of qingdao. As it is very new few taxis and locals know of it as a hotel. As it doubles as both an appartment and commercial complex. The room was very clean, large and modern. A full set of bathroom amenities was available, wonderful large bathroom, free wifi, kitchen (pls note no cooking utensils - plates, cutlery, pots etc) HBO & Sat TV, microwave, large refrigerator, enormous bed etc etc. all the amenities you expect from a 5 star hotel but in an appartment setting. Some of the reviews I read suggested difficulties with English at front desk & concierge however I experienced no such difficulties. The service standard was excellent. I even requested help to work the washing machine and within 10 minutes house keeping was at my door to instruct me how to operate the appliance. Breakfast is good but don't expect a 5 star breakfast in terms of selection however I found it more than adequate with selection of both Chinese and western. All food was well prepared presented and fresh. The view from the breakfast area is what sets this appart from other hotels. The recreation facilities are superb both pool and gym with views over the square, ocean and city. All in all and excellent hotel. If you are staying 1 night, 1 week or 1 month u will not be disappointed. My stay was 3 nights. If ever I am placed in Qingdao for longer stays this is the location as it is more of a residence. My only concern with this review is that by posting this more people will stay and ultimately the price will increase! An absolute bargain and an amazing hotel. Great pool & fitness centre

my stay in xiamen was really nice. hotel is good, and the staff is welcomed and taking good care for guest. even though the hotel is relative new, but it seemed very crowed. many corporate events taken placed in their ballrooms. lastly, this hotel is really 5 star international hotel, managed by western gm (many hotels in china, which called with chinese name always exaggerated their star value).

The hotel is 2 mins walk to a subway station (JinTaiXiZhao), medium size shopping mall with enough restaurants and cafes, a financial center and PwC Beijing office. There is also a convenient store 7-11, again 5 mins walk away from the hotel. In short location is perfectly convenient. Space of the double room we booked is also 5/5 value for money. As it is a short stay, we didn’t get to try out other facilities. The only thing we believed it’s overpriced is the breakfast buffet. But if you are not used to Chinese breakfast, the breakfast buffet might be the best option for you. Overall, this is indeed a 5 stars hotel which we definitely will return again the next time when we visit Beijing.

Overall, we were really happy with our stay. However, there were a few minor niggles. The bathroom left much to be desired, such as: a door that closed all the way and perhaps even opened without someone on the outside assisting and a shower that drains properly. I’m pretty sure the the shower’s drain was placed in the floor’s highest spot...that’s not right. Breakfast was ok but a bit sparse. The kids liked it but I’ve com to expect more from a hotel breakfast in China. Every single employee we dealt with was very nice, ready to help, and interested in the quick resolution of every request. A great crew all around. We’d definitely stay here again (worth the 30 minute subway right in order to save some money) but some adjustments to the above issues would be great.

Price is excellent for a five star hotel that provided a large clean room with complementary slippers, tooth paste and tooth brush, shaver, comb, soap, shampoo and conditioner. Bath robes, a weight scale, safe, iron and boardwas provided as well. The lobby is complemented by courteous knowledgeable staff. Location of ten minutes walk from Wangfujiang shopping area and the subway of the same name. The down side is that eating at the hotel is expensive means one would have to go out to look for breakfast. I would have liked to eat breakfast reasonably in the hotel before going out for the day. Although my wife spoke Mandarin, I would have preferred more of the staff to speak English. Unfortunately hotels in China does not provide free wi-fi.

i am a traveler, and whether for pleasure or for business, i always make sure that before i select the hotel @ agoda i check on the reviews if ever they meet my requirements. in most asian countries that i have been, i have experienced staying in some citadines chain of hotels and i would say they always satisfy my taste each time. i stayed in three different hotels in shanghai and i am giving a "thumbs up" rate to this citadines shanghai jinqiao hotel. the location may be a bit too far from the bustling city area but i didn't find it hard to get a taxi and to go to places where i need to be, because all attractions and shopping districts are reachable in just few minutes. the metro station may not be of walking distance but would only cost you 14rmb. the breakfast had a small number of choices in the buffet table but they change courses each day. there is this restaurant, about a little walk and just 2 corners away from the hotel(sorry i forgot the name but it won't be too difficult to find) which serves the best shanghainese food ever! i was glad we were able to discover that restau for they have so many authentic food choices and everything seemed so delectable and yummy at very affordable prices. you should really try it!! there is nothing that i dislike in the hotel for all the things i need in one accommodation is complete and all in one nice and cozy room - the clean bathroom, mini kitchen with big ref, a working table and a reception separate from the bedroom, soft bed (most hotels in china have orthopedic hard beds)and good-smelling bed linens. if you need something you can have it in just one call at the concierge or housekeeping section. the service is so efficient that i won't hesitate to stay there in citadines over and over again. i simply love all the comfort that comes with your stay in it! thanks citadines..

What really impressed me was that I was offered assistance to wheel my luggage upon stepping into the hotel. And this was not a bellboy but one of the staff walking past. You don't get that in majority of the local hotels in China. Also, upon checking in at the reception desk, the courteous concierge also presented me with a map of the city and a subway line guide. This was my bible for the rest of the trip. Rooms were bright and spacious. Toilet extremely clean. One downside though, the Internet connection was quite bad.

great hotel and part of the raffles chain. unfortunately china being china its run teh chinese way and not the way a 5 star opulent grand hotel with such a great reputation should be run. staff are poorly trained and instructed, it shows when you walk inside and they start hiding instead of saying hello like all otehr hotel staff do. the experience of staying in such a grand hotel needs to be followed through, but the staff fail it. inside the main entrance security guards stop guests from photographing the interior, its a crazy policy. this place has so much potential but needs an analytical business mind to get it pumping, not a govt communist static mind. the gift store doesnt sell any souvenirs of the historic hotel, cant understand why!! the jazz bar is great and lives up to the reputation. by far the most outstanding member is the assist director of food and bevrages miss. patricia. this lady is trying so much to improve the place howevever appears to be hitting her head against a brick wall with staff who dont perform. the jazz bar waiters though are so professional, best i have seen in years. the place needs a hip vibe rooftop bar to get things going as its got a great view of shanghai, pudonga nd the bund from the rooftop.

The Shangri-La in Qingtao is part old tower part new tower. I booked through Agoda, so I assume the hotel immediately puts all the OTA bookings in the old tower. The rooms were clean, fine, but dated, and didn't feel 5-Star. This half felt 4-Star. The front desk staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome. The lobby lounge staff were friendly too, but the service was very slow and not attentive. Also the lobby band was terrible. Way too loud (this is not a rock concert venue, turn it down, WAY down) and not fun. I didn't try the breakfast, but I did check out the pool and workout facility, both were very nice and well maintained. The tennis court was nice too. I tried to look at a room in the other tower but was told no rooms were available to show, which I find odd, as I went during the turnover time between check out and check in. I think they didn't want me to see what I was missing out on, staying in the old section of the hotel. For the money, new side only. Otherwise, pass.

We had 4 nights at the White Swan and overall were very happy. It is on Shamian Island which is a little sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of Guangzhou. There are restaurants and coffee shops scattered within walking distance. I recommend finding them as the prices in the hotel are a bit ridiculous. ($19AUD for a bowl of cereal, $11AUD for a cafe latte). The hotel itself is beautifully maintained. The staff are very good with a fairly high level of English which took some of the stress off little things like communicating. The staff were also extremely helpful. The site has excellent facilities but I can't abide rules for the sake of rules. I was planning on using the pool but was put off when I was told that I would have to wear a swimming cap that I would have to pay for (I am bald why would I need a swimming cap). Given the price I paid for a room and the price in the restaurants, having to pay to use the pool seemed to be going a bit far. There are multiple places in the hotel to eat. Oddly for a number of them, the location changes but the menu doesn't. As with most 5-star hotels in China you are paying for the surroundings rather than the food. It wasn't bad but is definitely not worth what they charge. With all that being said I would consider staying here again but would not bother eating on site as there are plenty of other options available within a few hundred meters

The location, facility, amenity, hospitality, all was fine. We traveled with 11 months old baby and 4 year old girl and never experienced bad in this hotel. Our 11 months old enjoyed their breakfast (especially rice porridge), and tried so many different kind of food that he never experienced before. We asked for bed guard net before our arrival and it was already set in our room. Never experienced such service in other hotels in China. Highly recommended hotel for the family with children. We stayed 3 night and 4 days but somehow they forgot to clean our room one day. That's one minus ★. But everything else was all fine. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay! We'll definitely come back.

Its right in the middle of a train interchange and its connected with an all weather below the ground walkway. The staff is very helpful indeed and provided all the information we need to move around, Google does not works in China in case you are still not aware. Ok it is not exactly on the cheap but in life you always get what you pay for. We paid slightly over S$100 per night and we got access to a indoor swimming pool and full size gym all thrown in. They also provide free food and drinks at the top floor at certain hours of the day. Location is important even if you are on a budget. Everybody can start a day fresh and excited but the story can become very different at the end of the day when you are tired and have to face a bad weather to find your way back to your hotel. This hotel is in the midst of the most happening part of the city. Plenty of shops and places to eat and see and some even within walking distance. Definitely recommended!

I usually stay elsewhere in Shenzhen, but tried the wyndham for a change and was really impressed for the price. it's a 5 star for what matters. what I like about wyndham in china is they also have European of north American staff on rotating training courses there so you can always speak to someone in English is you need to for more complex things. it's been helpful in the past.

The hotel is right at Wangfujing Street and is only a couple minutes walk to the pedestrian-only section. A great location for food and shopping. Subway station is within walking distance, but I would advise taking a taxi to get there if you have luggage since it is several minutes of walk from the subway station. The hotel enforces the non-smoking rule pretty well. There was no cigarette smell in the lobby, corridor, and room. It is unusual in China. (Many five-star hotels in China don't enforce the non-smoking rule, even in non-smoking rooms.) If you can't stand cigarette smell, stay in this hotel. The room is kind of small and old but functional. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok, not much to choose from. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. I will stay there again.

I booked this hotel because of the location (withing walking distance to my daughter's apartment) as well as the reviews that I read online. The rooms were well maintained and the staff was friendly. This was my first time in China. James, who I believe was the Assistant Manager was especially helpful with directions and advice on where to go and how to get there. I was very appreciative since I only speak English. I would definitely stay at the Grand Regency on my next visit to Qingdao.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The bed was comfortable and the room is of a good size. Good tv channels, nice toiletries and room was nice. For the price, i believe the room should have a bathtub and free internet. I have stayed in many hotels in china and i will return to jianguo the next time as it is cheaper with better deals except their bed is harder as it is chinese type.

when we arrived, they told us that they upgradred our room to their 5 star hotel, grand central hotel, which is beside central hotel. so i cant give information regarding central hotel but they do have a very nice lobby and friendly staffs...the grand central hotel is the best, we stayed there for 5 nights. very close to metro station (east nanjing road) and also to shopping center and restaurants. the room extra nice and 5 star facilities...we did night swimming and its warm water...overall we are very happy and will be back to grand central hotel shanghai for our next visit.

This has to be by far the best experience i had with any 5 star hotels in all my time travelling as a travel professional. This hotel is so well managed with impeccable service levels, motivated staffs and great rooms with fantastic views of the bund. Had issues with the booking due to confusing room types and rates displayed on Agoda. We booked this hotel only for the view of the bund but ended up booking another room type with no Bund view. Check-in staff was professional and even gave us an upgrade FOC after i explained our predicament. I really appreciate what they did as i was preparing for the worst when i realised we accidentally booked the wrong room type. Their desire to provide you with a pleasant stay with them and the fact that they went out of their way to do that shows what a 6 star hotel should be like. Yes 6th star is for impeccable service levels for hotels that walk the talk. Due to the booking error, we had only one breakfast included but there were 2 of us. Hotel allowed us to get the breakfast for 2 while they tried their best to get it sorted out. However, Agoda was very slow in response and could not even resolve the issue after 1 day. It was amazing as this is the only hotel i know of who allowed us to check-out and rectify this issue after i fly home. I have never quite know of something like this before. Concierge was a very pretty lady with very well spoken english who was very helpful and nice. I have to congratulate the GM of the hotel for the great management, motivated staffs and high service level all around.

The location is just strategically located nearby 3 major MRT lines. We can get to anywhere we want easily by taxi (never have to wait for more than 5 minutes to catch a taxi). The hotel is clean and cosy. I am impressed that they give a mini water dispenser machine and huge bottled. It means a lot to huge water drinker like me. Also, the beer - Budweiser in the fridge is selling for reasonably CNY10 only. There are not many hotels (3 star) serving breakfast in Shanghai. As food cost in Shanghai is high and I am lazy to find food early in the morning, I like the American breakfast served in the hotel so much! Furthermore they served good coffee (hard to get real good coffee in China)... Will definitely stay in this hotel again for next business trip.

Our stay at IFC was just wonderful. Our 2 bedroom apartment was plenty big enough for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers). The 2 bathrooms helped also as did the kitchen for a home cooked meal (after living off weeks of take-aways and restaurants). The metro underneath the IFC Mall was a great way to get around Shanghai especially as it rained for the whole time we were in Shanghai. The Hop On Hop Off Bus (with a stop just across the street) is a great way to see the sights of Shanghai and the bus stop location was one of the reasons I chose to stay at IFC. Having a washing machine/dryer was a god sent - this meant I wasn’t dragging suitcases of dirty laundry home to Australia. A clothes airer in the bathroom would have been nice but we managed just fine. A very big thank you to Jimmy at the business centre. He was friendly yet very professional and his (international) customer service skills should be commended and recognised by IFC. Jimmy’s directions and suggestions on using the metro to get the airport was spot on. He even told us which carriage to use so as changing trains would be easy considering all of our luggage - thanks Jimmy!!! The house keeping staff were very warm and friendly too and were always smiling. (The staff at check in and check out could certainly learn a lot from jimmy and the house keeping staff). Compare to other hotels in China, breakfast was only very average and lacked variety but the toast and coffee were in good supply. Overall a beautiful place to stay to finish off our China holiday before heading home. Thank you IFC!
