Hotel staff were friendly and gave excellent service. Reception and lounge area were good. They also offered free breakfast from 6:30-9:30am. However, once you get to the elevator going up, it started to feel icky. The elevator floors were old and obviously dirty. Then when we got to our rooms, the wallpapers were old and dirty also. One of our rooms also had an unpleasant smell. The bathrooms were too tight with old wallpapers. One of the pillows had a reddish stain on it and had some black spots. To be fair, the staff changed it for me without any problem. The rooms just felt old and tired. If you’re a clean freak, this place is not for you. The location is near the happening places, but it’s located in I think, part of the red light district? Also, be careful walking home late because when I was walking back to the hotel around 11pm from Universal Studios, a Japanese guy came up to me in a corner near Family Mart and tried to block me. He was saying something, but I ignored him and quickly walked away. So, the hotel itself is old and tired, but the staff were excellent. 5 stars for the staff.
