Windermere hotels & accommodations

the entrance to the hotel is a nice manicured garden, the view at the reception is lake windermere, the staff is always smiling and wonderful , professional, breakfast selection decent, but quality really really good, service is great, nice complimentary stuff like top notch drinks and tea and coffee , fresh and great breakfast, good nice garden , very nice for mornin...

1. The location is the best! From our room, we can see beautiful scene of lake district. Super love it!! 2. The location of the hotel is very near to the boat terminal where you can choose to go to other part of lake district or just stay on the boat to view the majestic scenery of lake district. (There were 3 types of boat you can choose to enjoy the lake district) ...

My husband (a senior citizen) and I stayed in Kirkwood Guest House, Prince's Road, Windermere City Center, Windermere, UK during 14 - 16 June 2018. We were visiting from Singapore. The Guest House is situated approximately midway between Windermere Railway Station and Windermere Lake (Bowness). The location of the Guest House is ideal for exploring the place by walking...

We enjoyed the beautiful family room and garden The dinner and breakfast were excellent too and the service staff were polite and efficient. We also liked that we can park our car just across our unit n every unit has their own reserved lot! No fighting for parking lots 😄

We were initially disappointed with the room we were given, a tired interior with outdated furniture etc. and a shower over the bath which did not match the room description booked, which states that "all select plus rooms have separate showers and bath" etc. To the managers credit after querying the booking, we were given a fabulous refurbed modern room which aligned ...

Everything was great except that I was the only one in our group that did not have a bath tub in my room. We all booked at the same time and paid the same price. I spoke with the reception and they said that I should have requested for it even though the pictures shows that the room that I have booked has an en-suite with a bath tub.

We stayed at Langley view Guest house Thursday 24th October. We researched properties in the Area first through various booking sites. This Guest house was reviewed highly and it is very close to the centre of Things in Bowness. Close to the Angel Inn and Roundabout so it’s really good to get around from here. Very friendly couple running Langley View, nice warm welcom...

I was travelling from Manchester north to the Lake District with no specific place to stay other than likely in Keswick. When I discovered the road was shut down due to the flooding I decided at the last minute to stay in Windermere. Discovering Holly Lodge on an app, I booked a wonderful clean room close to town with a car park. It also provided breakfast which was sc...

It was raining and cold (in June) when we arrived but we had a warm welcome from Sue our host. Room was small but clean and bright. Location was good as only 10 mins walk to Bowness lakeside for the cruises and about 20 mins walk to Windermere town centre. We just parked our car and walked. Breakfast was cooked and very nice. Fully recommend this establishment.

Myself and a friend just had an overnight stay (unfortunately) at "Rum Doodle". We could quite happily have managed a few more nights. The house is amazing to see, an awful lot of thought and imagination has gone into it. It is quirky and a lot of fun. The house was very clean, inviting and everything is top notch. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice from the b...

The attic floor which housed the 4 of us was a little small but we were ok as we only stayed for a night. The location was superb & our lovely hosts were very friendly. Was especially thankful to Michelle who allowed us to store our 5 pieces of luggage in the premises till after lunch. Windermere is a lovely place & we will return to spend more time to explore the next...

Lovely weekend away in the centre of Windermere - on a quiet road with free off road parking spaces. Modern design in the bedroom with a really comfy bed and pillows. The breakfast choices were really nice, and even home made bread for the toast!

A traditional British B&B which give us homestay feeling. The owner is very nice and helpful. only 5-10 min walk to the Windermere rail station. There are travel info centre, bus stops, supermarket etc next to the station which is very convenience to traveller.

It is not in the middle of Windermere Town, which in itself is not a bad thing, because the traffic seemed to be very busy in town... it is also a decent distance to the Village of Bowness where there are decent eating places. Breakfast was a good Full English Breakfast spread with bread, cereal and fruit stations. Locals seem to like to come there for a leisurely br...

Rainy days and bad weather. Still hotel was OK. Dining a bit on the expensive side but breakfast very good and nice. I paid 138 GBP/night but could have stayed at 100. Umbrellas available. On the bad side: The whole windermere place is something ike an amusement park. I realize that this is the case for most people in Europe if they want to go places - there is not muc...

We had a very pleasant stay. The staff were very welcoming , pleasant, attentive and helpful. The food was excellent. The location is really good for exploring Lake Windermere. Our room was light and airy but the bathroom could do with a bit of an update particularly the shower - weak pressure. Also our room was near a large extractor outlet which was quite noisy fro...
Cheap places to stay in Windermere

Green Gables is a small B&B, it provides everything you need I didn't get to try the breakfast as I was out early however, my partner and family said it was fantastic. Maybe next time I will get to sample it, great location for exploring Windermere.

Nice little Inn strategically located just a few minutes walk from Lake Windermere. Lots of nice shops and restaurants nearby. The Inn's management and staff are friendly and hospitable. The food especially the lamb shank was excellent. Would recommend this Inn any time.

the hotel room is large enough, and well-equipped. there is a dvd player in the room and the guests can pick favourable dvds from the living room. quiet location, but is a bit far away from the attractions. one needs to walk for 15 minutes from the hotel to the attractions at the other side of the town. still, a comfortable place to stay in!

Information from yourselves was not quite right we arrived at 1-20pm but was told check in wasn’t until 3-00pm you informed us it was from 12-00. And check out 12-00 but the hotel said it was 11-00 am you need to sort out the check in and check out times

We booked a small economy room for 2 nights and did not expect much. But the room & bathroom, though small, suit our needs with comfortable beds and good shower. Maureen, the host, is warm and thoughtful, and we especially loved her home-baked bread. We had a lovely time staying at Beech House.

Everything is good in this hotel. It smells good. But the toilet in our room is outside our room, it is a bit inconvenient. Moreover, there is no reception in this hotel. You have to call the host to check in and out. It is not convenient for tourist who do not have a phone number in UK.

Invergarry was a great stay. It is situated midway between Windermere Centre and Bowness-on-Windermere Centre, both of which are within walking distance. My sister and I had Room 3 on the top floor, which was cozy, but well-appointed. The furniture was nice and country-like, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was nice and big. Breakfast was great and had ma...

Mary and Philip are absolutely lovely! Beautiful rooms, great location, and great food- order the pies for dinner at least once. Mary and Philip were very helpful for making plans for day trips and took great care of us during our stay. I couldn't be more pleased and hope to return soon.

We stayed in the Tivoli suite for 2 nights. I think it's the best suite from the hotel. The room was very spacious and cleaned. The decoration made the atmosphere of the room very romantic. The spa / hot tub room was amazing and added that special touch for our first weekend away together as a couple. The steam room in the bathroom was perfect too to relax before a nic...

We stayed in the Windermere room for 3 nights and it was the best B&B experience ever! There was a wide variety of breakfast options and everything tasted incredible. Denis & Anita took the time to chat with guests at breakfast time - they were very welcoming and offered some really good sightseeing tips. Room was clean and equipped with everything you would need. The property is equidistant between Bowness-on-Windermere and Windermere townships, and is very well maintained and staffed. We booked the large room with the super-king bed, and were impressed by the size of the room and the amenities. It was really nice to have real soap after so many properties only providing tube body wash! Kudos to Rich and the team, including for...

Having read the Swallows and Amazons books when a child but never having been to the Lake District, I went there while visiting the UK last month. I wanted to stay close to the lake but away from the town and the Cragwood met both criteria. The Cragwood is in a wonderful location a few minutes drive north of Windermere town at the top of a wooded slope overlooking the...

Wonderful place. Andy and Tracy were so welcoming with tea or coffee and delicious home made cookies on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Very clean and comfortable. Well placed for eating out in Windermere. Longer walk into Bowness. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

The place is run by a sweet English couple. They look after you really well. The breakfast was great. The location is bang opposite the Windermere lake. Only thing is this time , they had an emergency and could not extend our check out time. We had to leave luggage at Station and pay them. All else was good.
Luxury hotels in Windermere

Great hotel and lovely staff Shaun got us a table reservation at the Positano ,he is a lovely chap .Bar staff also friendly and reception check in went smoothly, only drawback was £12 parking charge because we didn't book direct with the hotel,so would advise booking direct with hotel.

Food and dining as anywhere. Much too touristic. Scenery is wonderful, but only at a distance. You will reach it.
It's good to drive along Winderemere Lake so that you could explore different sightseeing points more efficiently.
