Where to stay in Whitby
Whitby hotels & accommodations
really satisfactory and comfortable.
Pros are easily accessible to Whitby town and amenities. And the view was lovely. Cons are the room smelt of damp and was very basic with no blind at large bathroom window. Breakfast was poor and regimented.
Based up on west cliff so you know you will have a steep hill to climb. Wouldn’t put us off . Will return .
It was the best YHA I've ever stayed. It was so nice and lovely that I regretted to stay only for 1 night. The building itself has a long history that gives us a unique experience to stay. The location was perfect. It located just next to the Whitby Abbey and St Mary's Church. The hostel is group and family friendly. This YHA doesn't offer a typical self-catering kitch...
The hotel online offer was better than the one I paid. The hotel would not change it as my deposit had been taken. We asked for a sheet but never got one. Out of the two rooms we had one had a lovely view and one of the fire escape. Need a car but this end of Whitby is really quieter and lovely. We drove to the hustle when we needed it. Hotel clean, it’s very inkeepi...
Lovely owners, couldn't have been more helpful. Nice breakfast. Great location.
Thoroughly recommend this hotel, overlooking the stunning small village of robins hood bay. The village, which is down a very steep road is full of fascinating shops, pubs and quaint houses.
Handy to Whitby, walking track from Hotel to town. Good breakfast (cooked to order if required) after night out, drinks available. Good knowledge of area avilable. Friendly spirit (really!!) Lovely management, who are a great help. Local pub does good grub with fine Ales on tap. A great place to be based.
What a view
The pros are mostly everything. A huge whale on the wall and a dolphin in the bathroom. Instantly made me feel at sea. It was very clean and modern plus has good privacy for a couple. The location and nearby pubs were brilliant. Good security for getting in. The cons were not enough sugar or milk for 2 days and no change of towels and sheets. I thoroughly enjo...
Overall, the place is clean, quiet and comfortable. The host provided a traditional full breakfast in the morning, it is nice. The room is not that big and there is no television. But the scenary is cool.
After I arrived at the hotel, it was after 7pm. I had no idea where I could go for a short visit when I was at the hotel entrance again. A lady staff approached me and asked me what she could help me. I told her and she immediately introduced me to walk along the cliff and walked down to the town. I followed what she said and the view along the cliff was gorgeous. Next...
10 mins steady walk or £5 in a taxi Breakfast basket was so cute & good choice Fridge in room a bonus Lovely hotel
It had all the basics right plus the wonderful view. I would recommend it to anyone going to whitby unless you are driving. its a little off city central but thats what gives it the wonderful view!
Would benefit by Having a Lounge or Sunroom to Use other than Dining Room ..as Bedrooms are Rather Spartan..If Weather Is inclement would be Nice to have Somewhere to Sit and Read a Magazine with a Coffee..
Stay was very good but the room was too small and there were bank beds that we had to sleep separately.
A very friendly welcome and easy check-in, with parking arrangements included in the stay. We booked last minute for two nights but couldn't stay in the same room although the Pier Inn tried their best to accommodate us. Had a great stay and Whitby is beautiful. The Pier Inn has fine beers and the included breakfast was a great selection and was well cooked and served ...
Very nice stay in quiet location in centre of whitby,
Really enjoyed this place! The location on the circle facing the water is great and so easy to get to all restaurants, bars, etc. This one bedroom we stayed at was great ! Fantastic living room, very well appointed for kitchen. Only tricky part was that I hadn't left US cell phone number for staff to text security codes to unlock front doors and unit. Bedroom was a lit...
The room was fantastic, the view was tremendous! the staff were lovely, dog friendly even thought of my dog ....he really enjoyed his treat at breakfast .....thanks would love to come back xx
all round 5 star many thanks Pam & Lee
Only thing is that there is no where to find any staff. Our toilet was leaking and couldn’t find anyone to solve it. Tried calling the number given in the email but no one ever answered. Ended up avoiding using the toilet which was quite an inconvenience. The location is good, room was nice other then that.
Small things matter. Arriving on a day where clearly staff smiling had been banned and an apparent weariness of yet more visitors did not bode well A single shower gel and a single shampoo between 2 people per day when you are paying a substantial figure felt ridiculous. Was it inconceivable that people might shower in the evening and the morning?. After 5 attempts o...

This is our second visit here with our dog location is opposite Sandsend beach and less than an hours walk into Whitby Accommodation modern and clean and staff very accommodating would recommend this place as you don’t have to compromise just because you want to take your fur baby
