"sadly we only stayed in Sungai Kolok for a day. the moonshadow is located above a restaurant and has more of an airbnb or homestay feeling to it. The owner is really helpful and offers to drive you to a tree in the jungle if you are free. the interior is really nostalgic as well, and they offer a great freshly made breakfast. Definitely a good stay if you are backpacking and looking for a more local place."

"I walked to this hotel after crossing the border from Malsysia to Thailand. It wasn't that far of a walk. The hotel itself is brand new and it shows. There is careful attention to detail and everything is clean. The internet is very fast and suitable for video conferecing and remote work if needed. There is a ton of food options in the area and the people are nice. The hotel is super quiet and inside a quiet soi, so you wont hear a ton of traffic. The bed is also very comfortable. The hotel owner is a very nice lady who took the time to get to know me a little and offered great hospitality. This is a hotel that is taken care of personally by the owner and those are the best type of places because they care about their guests. "

"Positive: Scenic view around the hotel, super friendly and helpful staff, awesome room condition- spacious and clean, beautiful garden view from the room, provide free transport to town area as per request- just give tips to the driver, friendly and nice driver, by the way. Negative: far from the town area- we thought of renting a motorbike but failed to do so, no hairdryer, no hot water for showering- as we arrived in a rain, we really need hot shower and hairdryer. Overall: a very comforting and relaxing stay, will come again, with own hairdryer."
