Stellenbosch hotels & accommodations

De Oude Werf property impresses on every level and we cannot say enough things about this wonderful venue. Nestled and tucked away on a trendy Stellenbosch street, we were warmly welcomed by the manager John and his concierge staff. We even got a tour of the hotel and the hospitality simply amazing. The rooms are out of this world and I leave that for you to find out....

Beautiful estate. Lots of features in addition to the wine estate. SO much to do. LOvely wine to taste. Great out doors. U can choose to just sit down, lay back and enjoy the peace by the river, or see birds of prey. The room were really nice as well. Fire place. service was warm and personal. we left the estate with a heavy heart after two days of wonderful stay and s...

About 7 miles from centre of Stellenbosch, this is the finest place we have ever stayed in or around the town. Beautiful surroundings, historic Dutch-style buildings and great staff. The views of the mountains and the lake are wonderful. Breakfast excellent. We had a cottage which was great. They do not serve dinner here, only breakfast and lunch, but there are pla...

Stayed 4 nights and really enjoyed it. We loved our modern, comfortable apartment and enjoyed playing golf and the very good location which was 10 mins drive to central Stellenbosch and within easy driving distance of many wineries. We liked the ability to self cater and also enjoyed dinner in Chez Shiraz - very nice food, good value and friendly service. We will de...

Stunning gardens, magnificent art, and beautiful rooms. The villas and rooms were well appointed with current designer taste throughout!! The food is gourmet/ delicious! The service is top notch from the front desk to the servers, the spa staff and the concierge!! Our room staff kept everything immaculate so we can only say thank you and give you 6 stars. We were tre...

The majeka is one of the best hotels I have stayed in around the world and an excellent value for the money. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best presented meals and the quality of food amazing. I cannot wait to return.

Amazing views we didn’t wanna leave but we chose a wrong time to go where it was cloudy and rainy.. but still when the sun peaks out it was breathtaking... we got one of the best views! Food there is amazing too and wine tasting was so affordable and the cloud wines are top notch! Will go there again as it’s next to the Delaire Graff also, and we get a private buggy to...

This boutique hotel ticked all the boxes: excellent friendly service from knowledgeable staff; fittings in the suite, especially the bathroom were excellent, and the breakfasts superb. An excellent location just outside the main town of Stellenbosch that gave good access to many of the regions wineries and restaurants. The views from our balcony and the public rooms w...

This hotel is located outside Stellenbosch in a quiet area with beautiful views. The rooms were large and comfortable. The restaurant was good but not of the quality that we anticipated. The breakfast staff unfortunately were offhand and didn't appear to be interested in the guests. This was however in contrast with the evening dining staff who were very pleasant and a...

We stayed at Avenues Guest Lodge for 2 nights towards the end of our 4 week trip to South Africa & absolutely loved it! Avenues is very conveniently situated, meaning that we could walk to the restaurants, bars & shops. The lodge was beautifully & tastefully decorated & our room was spotlessly clean, well equipped & comfortable! The pool was an added bonus & very welco...

Sugarbird Manor is a small paradise around 7 km from Stellenbosch Centre with a spectacular view over the mountains. Great service from Roxanne and her team (Thanks Roxanne) The ambience is modern, stylish and elegant. The artworks from african artists are beautiful. Nice pools overlooking the area. Just perfect !

From the moment we arrived at Twice Central everything was perfect. Our room was huge and decorated beautifully. They really did think about every little detail, even leaving us a nightcap for when we got back exploring Stellenbosch. The location is great and so easy getting to all the restaurants and bars. Breakfast was fantastic and all the staff was so friendly and ...

The lodge is ideal for a stay in the area for exploring the wine-growing regions around Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. The rooms are very nice and guarantee a relaxing stay in a very quite facility. The breakfast is great and very delicious, the restaurant offers great meals for dinner. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The own wines can be tasted at the "Herenhui...

The unit felt like it was lived in by a permanent resident that moved out so that we can stay there. It had 4 eggs, a half a block of marg and half a block of fat in the fridge. In the bathroom it had a random collection of headache pills, dettol etc and one mall gown hanging on a hook

This place is beyond what we imagined. It’s a 4-5 rooms huge permises, each has its own private bathroom and kitchen. (There’s also a big shared kitchen and BBQ grill if you wosh to cook on your own). Breakfast was fresh and fabulous and accompannied by the magnificent view of the place - same view we woke up to every morning and thought we were still dreaming. Nick an...

I enjoyed a very nice stay at Lumley's place. On arrival I was surprised to see so many cars and people but it turned out to be the owners Son's 21st birthday. All fine and I settled in for a quiet evening whilst the family celebrations took place. Later in the evening I was then invite dot join them for some unexpected dinner. The owners and the family were very frien...

The apartment has a great location, close to all the restaurants and attractions in Stellenbosch. We found the apartment, spacious, clean, comfy and well provisioned with a washer, dryer and dishwasher. The welcome pack of staples and fruit was much appreciated as we arrived late at night. The bathroom in the bedroom is a little odd, but there is a second toilet in th...

A gem of a place, and only a 10 minute walk to the town center. The staff and owners went out of their way to make this a fabulous stay and you were made to feel at home. The breakfasts were fabulous, the rooms were a bit small but very cozy and the pool was inviting (even if we didn't use it because it was winter). I would stay at this guesthouse time and time again. ...

Very pleasant small hotel close to town centre yet quiet. Range of excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. Room was very comfortable with good bathroom and shower. Cheap places to stay in Stellenbosch

Great location near the town. We were not in the Magnolia Guest House as booked. We were in an annex in a nearby street. Met a staff member at Magnolia on arrival, then no one else for our entire visit. The room was large and clean, dated with a fridge, microwave and kettle.. No sink to wash up, had to use the bathroom. There was a large outside seating area whic...

Located centrally next to Stellenbosch Universities main campus, the lodge is situated in some old traditional building (heritage?) and the whole atmosphere around the place is quite nice. The lodge itself is actually quite cute and has so much potential which could be uncovered if only it were treated properly. Just because the building is old, that doesn't mean that ...

rivierbos guest house is strategically located in the heart of the beautiful and historical town of stellenbosch. museums, art galleries and curio shops are all within safe walking distance. it is the ideal destination from which our guests could explore the heart of south africa’s wine country, franschhoek, paarl, cape town with table mountain, cape point, the waterf...

Laanhof Victorian Place is an excellent place to spend some time in Stellenbosch. Very quiet yet convenient location with easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and university. My second year staying in 7 Ackerman Place in Stellenbosch. Such a lovely place and only walking distance to the centre. My room/bathroom were kept spotless (the bed linen is also exceptional!) and it is somewhere I can definitely recommend. Where would I also find a washing machine and separate drier to do my washing (including the supply of washing powder!) and...

Old decoration. Could be nice but would need a bit more love, to me. Stay in itself was alright. Room too full of useless furnitures. Pretty dirty curtains. Ok but not definitely not a wow. Would have went for cheaper. Consider the price pretty high for what it is.

The aircon did not work and the only reason I booked there was because there was an aircon facility. It was very hot and uncomfortable without an aircon.I phoned Rosie to tell her about the problem the evening and the next day two o clock they still hadn't attend to the problem.

Very close to Stellenbosch and 25 minutes from the airport of Cape Town and 10 minutes to the big Somerset mall. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is prepared to order and is excellent. Fast laundry service and a good Restaurant. We can rerecommend it anytime. Sept.2017

Can recommend a stay at the self catering units. View is amazing and you have a large spacious unit with a big kitchen as well as a stoep with braai facility. Large garden with lots of birds on the dam. Only downside is that the units are close to a main road and flies seems to be a problem. Wine tasting as well as a restaurant at the farm. Check before you arrive if...

We have stayed at Fynbos Guesthouse before, but this time we were placed in the Annex which is a house away. Our second stay at Kleine Zalze and we'll return again, highly recommend. Great location, with fantastic golf course, outstanding Terroir restaurant and wine tasting all on site. Stayed here twice before. Disppointed with the room, staff were helpful in trying to resolve but the hotel was almost fully booked. Breakfast was good and the staff very friendly and efficient. Would definitely make sure a loft room was booked for the next visit. Location great, easy and safe walking into Stellenbosch town.

The guest house is very secure and has lovely rooms and a very nice garden and pool area. the staff are very friendly and hospitable. It is a very short walk to many restaraunts, shops and other local attractions as well as the university. Internet access is good and the breakfast is very nice.

We had a very brief stay overnight at In the Vine, but thoroughly enjoyed it! We spent the weekend of 15-17 June 2012 at Asara. From the sincere welcome at reception, the waiters and maintenance staff was superb - the staff go out of their way to be helpful and to assist. The town itself is interesting. Busting with eager students, there are certainly more than enough pubs, bars and clubs to keep you entertained! Some great restaurants located all around the city which is easy to navigate around.
We only spent a brief time in the actual town of Stellenbosch which was quaint and pretty with some shopping and good places to eat.
Typical University town with loads of students. The call of the surrounding wine farms was load enough so that we did not linger in the town.
a definite visit to wine tasting, the brandy distillery a MUST. also the family markets on weekends.
Nice town, beautiful wine farms, good restaurants.. can access cape town , paarl and Strand for the beach.
Lovely little town with lots of small shops and great cafes to eat and drink - wonderful young people vibe.
