"Lovely spacious room and bathroom with tea/coffee station and bathroom accessories like shampoo, soap, shower cap and body lotion. Air con was noisy in our room and we asked for a sea-facing room which had a lovely view over the harbour but the noise from traffic and road below!!! I'll definitely stay again but will request a back facing room with no view, but I would rather have a good night's sleep. A very nice hotel, clean, impression of open space and very pleasant staff at reception. We got a very good rate through agoda "

"The spa was excellent. He rooms were large, with a comfortable king bed and an amazing shower and bath combo. The rooms and hotel were kept clean throughout ur stay. The area felt very safe to walk around at all times of the day and night. (Pleased to see only a few electric/barbed fences in this area). Unfortunately the spas location leaves it quite a distance from any positive attraction apart from De Kelder (the best restaurant so far in South Africa). The BoardWalk is around 15-20 minutes walk away and then it's a further 10-15 minutes to the Humewood restaurants, which is more the layout of PE rather than the hotels shortcomings. The restaurant at Isango is hit and miss. Dinner the first night was delicious and well presented. Room service the following night and then dinner on our final night were both less than satisfactory. (Perhaps a different chef). Staff were also very friendly, however there never seemed to be a bartender available for drinks by the pool and when calling reception at night or early mornings there were times when no one answered."

"We had a wonderful time in PE especially at the cool windy stroll along the beaches & watching young guys surfing. Both the owners Cathy & Gordon are wonderful couple & a good host, welcoming and made us feel very relax & comfortable. Aqua Marine Guesthouse is only few minutes walk to the beaches. The room is clean & with kitchenette. I enjoyed every moments in Aqua Marine & especially withthe friendly hosts. Thanks Cathy & Gordon. "

"The hotel was very full when we booked in and unfortunately we were given a room with a problem. The maintenance man came very quickly and then decided the room was not suitable and arranged for a new room, plus he helped us with our luggage. Very good service"

"When I booked the Guest House I expected OK, but received excellent everything. The staff are amazing with their service, I'd give their hospitality 5 stars. The house keeping is by someone who has a hands on approach. Rooms were spotlessly clean, also newly renovated with totally modern furniture and linen. Bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. "

"I have just returned from a three night stay at the City Lodge Port Elizabeth, whilst attending the SA Society of Aaesthesiologists annual congress. Everything was fantastic with real value for money. Location is really a five minute walk to the Boardwalk Hotel and Conference Centre. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well appointed. Service is very good. This is like a mini five star hotel without the five star prices. Only thing is the breakfast is expesive at R165 but the spread is very good. Still, there is only so much one can eat, and R165 is expensive, when you can get restaurant breakfasts across the road for less than half the price."
