Where to stay in Port Elizabeth
Port Elizabeth hotels & accommodations
This is an old hotel with some nice features. The lounge area is warm and friendly and the hotel is situated just over the road from one of the nicest beaches in Port Elizabeth. Its a stones throw from the Boardwalk Casino as well as other restaurants and spots on the beach. The rooms are spacious and clean but the bathrooms only have a bath/shower....no separate sh...
The spa was excellent. He rooms were large, with a comfortable king bed and an amazing shower and bath combo. The rooms and hotel were kept clean throughout ur stay. The area felt very safe to walk around at all times of the day and night. (Pleased to see only a few electric/barbed fences in this area). Unfortunately the spas location leaves it quite a distance from an...
Lovely spacious room and bathroom with tea/coffee station and bathroom accessories like shampoo, soap, shower cap and body lotion. Air con was noisy in our room and we asked for a sea-facing room which had a lovely view over the harbour but the noise from traffic and road below!!! I'll definitely stay again but will request a back facing room with no view, but I wou...
I have just returned from a three night stay at the City Lodge Port Elizabeth, whilst attending the SA Society of Aaesthesiologists annual congress. Everything was fantastic with real value for money. Location is really a five minute walk to the Boardwalk Hotel and Conference Centre. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well appointed. Service is very good. This...
Very enjoyable. A great hotel for a week or weekend getaway. Winter weather in Port Elizabeth is very pleasant.
The hotel was very full when we booked in and unfortunately we were given a room with a problem. The maintenance man came very quickly and then decided the room was not suitable and arranged for a new room, plus he helped us with our luggage. Very good service
The Courtyard is in a great position on Summerstrand, the perfect spot when visiting Port Elizabeth. The rooms are well equipped and have lovely balconies overlooking the sea. The Staff were all charming. The public areas are excellent and the welcome bar and the tea/coffee and cake in the afternoons are a great idea.
We enjoyed a three night stay at Hacklewood Hill Country House and were delighted with our spacious room and bathroom. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. The house itself has an interesting background and has many original features. We had a lovely evening meal at the hotel and some tasty breakfasts. A great place to stay when going to Port Eliza...
No 5 is a hotel located in a quiet street 5 minutes from seafront in Port Elizabeth. It is an absolutely stunning hotel with the most beautiful rooms. It is art deco themed and stuffed with fantastic furniture pieces and amazing works of art. We stayed in the suites situated across the road and we were absolutely delighted with the spacious, luxurious accommodation. We...
Stayed in the lovely presidential suite; perfect space to relax and enjoy. Was a bit far from things, not within walking distance, so a good place to plan to stay if you’re just looking to relax and enjoy the view.
The best thing about the place was the staff, Gloria and Randell , Both New at thier work had been exceptional. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and had been so accommodating that we felt they were part of our family. (I have stayed in many hotels round the world which we cannot compare to as this was a lodge / B&B type place) , however the servic...
Our family of 4 selected this as an overnight stay. We flew into Port Elizabeth late at night and it was close to the airport. It was a wonderful place to overnight. It was clean, comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our breakfast was outstanding too! If you stay here you won’t forget it!
My husband and I stayed at the Carslogie House for our 1 night. The owner was there to greet us, showed us around, and gave great pointers about the Port Elizabeth area. The room was beautiful with a large bathroom and was right off the pool area. At breakfast, the owner provided a delicious breakfast and great coffee. This B&B felt more like a resort than a traditi...
Even if we stayed only 16 hours at Cape Flame it was a very pleasant experience with very attentive and friendly staff. Unfortunately we could not experience the breakfast buffet as we had to leave around 5.15am but they did make a copious cold breakfast available for us the night before. We shall without doubt recommend it to our friends visiting Port Elizabeth. In ...
Quite, clean and friendly staff. We stayed in one of the self catered rooms. It was a spacious room with plenty of cookware and access to free wifi. Wifi was a little slow but it was sufficient for our purposes. Whenever we had question, the staff was friendly and delightful. We had a lovely stay and only wished we could stay longer.
Staff members are all super friendly and helpful but unfortunately our room was not ready at arrival. Indicated check in time between 1 and 2 pm on the booking. Staff was really nice and requested we return at 3.30pm as they had a group booking that checked out late. We arrived back at 3.40pm but room was still not ready. We were told at reception that we can check ...
Our third visit and we would most certainly stay at the Kelway Hotel again when in Port Elizabeth.
We stayed 2 nights at the Beachwalk at the beginning of our trip to South Africa at the beginning of March. When we arrived we had a very friendly welcome from the owner, Lea, and her 2 dogs. She showed us to our room (No. 1) and we were wowed. It had everything we could possibly need, including a fridge and microwave also some candles in case there was load shedding (...
We got picked up by the son of James from the airport, he explained us a bit about Port Elizabeth city and drove us near to a township because we told them we never saw any township yet :) Port Elizabeth is pretty safe city and Forest Hall Guest House is well decorate, room is beautiful and comfortable. It was rainy day when we arrived, but yet we felt great when we ar...
Everything at Singa was wonderful. The only sad part was that we were only staying for one night. The room (#11) was fantastic, though with the open bath, probably best for solo travelers or couples. The service was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. It was a perfect stay!
Close enough to town. Clean unit with special little effort of rusk in the room. Comfortable unit and spacious.
We stayed in room eight for a week whilst attending a family wedding. The room was huge, with a separate living area and a balcony which overlooked the sea. The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable on the activities to do around Port Elizabeth. Parking is within the secure hotel compound so no worries there! A good range of hot and cold items available at breakf...
The Grand hotel is impressive although old. Large rooms with traditional furniture and old wooden floors..but CREAKY. Dont book the bottom floor :-) great for passers by!
Cleanliness was just something remarkable about this Place- Friendly staff and a Perfect View with a see View
The Treetops Guesthouse is a very quaint B&B located very close to the Airport. When we arriveed, we called Steven and he was there in 5 Minutes to pick us up. Steven has a Wonderful personality that is very welcoming. He not only recommend a restaurant for dinner, he drove we to Bocadillos, which, by the way was also wonderful. The guesthouse has courtyards and ...
Best location to visit the Addo's - elephant park and lonely dunefields too! Very attentive staffs - very british breakfast with homemade jam an bread - exit by jeep ist a great experience - 6 hours elephants, cape-buffalos and elands ... good recommendations to dinners.
From the moment we saw the secure gate and parking within we knew we were going to have a great time at this accommodation. Reception were brilliant fun and so welcoming, inviting us to choose for dinner. The room was fantastic with all amenities and a massive bath for weirry travellers. The property is very lovely. It is a big house turned accomodation. The reception hall / waiting area is like a living house curated with beautiful furniture and decoration. Breakfast spread was great and love the china utensils.
Beautifully appointed rooms, great maritime ambience. Just a wonderful place to stay in Port Elizabeth.
The best is the owner, warm welcome and lots of tips. 100% Recommended!
Cheap places to stay in Port Elizabeth
Stayed in one of the huts with double bed for 7 nights. The hut was fine, till the rain of the last 24-hours or so which seeped through gaps in the walls and pooled on the floor. The shared bathroom was fine, except being built under an existing dwelling you've got to be careful not to hit your head on the joist. A security guard watches the front of the property, ...
Not enjoyable. The bathroom was not clean and there was dirty water in the glass. The shower leaked spraying water all over the bathroom. The bed was most uncomfortable.
Stayed in the lovely presidential suite; perfect space to relax and enjoy. Was a bit far from things, not within walking distance, so a good place to plan to stay if you’re just looking to relax and enjoy the view.
Everything were 100%; better than expected ; easy access to the beach and beautiful to run along the beach and pass AmterdamsHoek so peaceful, late afternoons and early mornings It felt safe with all the other walker, runners and cyclists
very clean and comfortable
stayed here for a week whilst visiting relatives. Spacious room, everything worked well, wifi good. Nice touches like fresh milk left in fridge and kitchen well stocked with coffee/tea and everything you need. Owners away when we stayed so didn't meet them but no problems.
Simple room but it has all the things you need, fridge, kettle, spacious bathroom , hair dryer! Personal touch, John and Marilyn are wonderful hosts. The owners made us hot drinks upon arrival, and we sat and chatted for almost an hour. Gave us good recommendations for dinner in town. We had to leave very early the next day, so the lady of the house made us a packed br...
This guesthouse is amazing. The owner is really nice. The room is comfortable, big and with many facilities. The breakfast is awesome.
The staff were very accomodating and flexible even when I was extremely late for checkin. It was a perfect stay and I would definitely return here. Thank you
What a beautiful place this was. Enjoyed every moment of just being there. It's in a nice quiet area, that best suits for a couples getway. My wife and I are definitely planning a trip to visit Keiskama B&B with our friends next month. Looking forward to it. Everything was great except for the weak Wi-Fi signal at the outside rooms. An extended is required.
The places is comfortable and clean. The owners are very kind and they're willing to help and assist you. Although the place is not so close to the beach, you could walk for 15-20 minutes or Uber/Taxify.When you go to Summerstrand, you should definitely stay there!
the Staff was rude , during over stay the room was not cleaned . the bed was not made . i have spill some juice on the floor no one came the floor was sticky . i have asked that our room be cleaned but no one even bothered to come see. i was a horrible stay. they say the Wi-Fi is free but not even a single day i managed to log in . wh...

We had a wonderful time in PE especially at the cool windy stroll along the beaches & watching young guys surfing. The room is clean & with kitchenette. I enjoyed every moments in Aqua ...
A well located, good value option in Port Elizabeth. Nicely appointed, clean room in a lovely garden setting. Genuinely friendly and helpful manager.
We stayed here for 1 night because of our late flight to PE. The House was clean and the staff was really nice to us. Free WiFi, super nice shower. If you are looking for a short overnight stay near the airport then this accommodation is perfect for it.
Everything was just perfect.
Thanks to Mara for lovely one night stay. Comfortable clean and next to pool. Parking and safe. DSTV as well.
The best is the owner, warm welcome and lots of tips. 100% Recommended!
We started our Garden Route in Port Elizabeth with a 2 nights stay at Le Blue Guesthouse. Jean Pierre and his father made us feel very welcome. Excellent start to Garden Route trip!
Great place to stay
I arrived very early as 06h15 there, I knew checkin time is 14h00 but they welcome me and offered me breakfast although I didn't take it. Amazing thing I got the room at 10h00 am, it was woooow neat and more nice than I was expecting, closer to shopping centre, closer to Nelson Mandela Stadium where I had to attend festival, 10min walk to the beach. Great bed and breakfast. Convenient for us to walk to the Summerstrand and sea front of Port Elizabeth. Great owners who were full of personality, kindness and and thoughtfulness. Cooked breakfast was delicious with always an offer of home made pancakes!!!! Helped us with my error of booking one night too few! And they let us stay an extra night.
We chose the hotel for wheelchair accessibility. You can travel in a wheelchair from the car park to reception, to your room, to the bar, and to the restaurant, some via elevators. good place to have a holiday but not longer than 3 to 5 nights. The only bad experience was the dity beaches and streets and no control over taxi's scipping red lights as and when they want to.
If you don't have to then don't bother. This city is not geared up for white, independant tourists, feels intimidating and is not particularly attractive.
Very nice place to visit with plenty of things to do with-in the city. Lots of places to relax on the beaches and shopping in the boardwalk.
The gem of the Eastern Cape remains very under rated as a tourist destination. Port Elizabeth has it all to offer.
