Kruger National Park hotels & places to stay

The accommodation and experience you get from staying at Elephant Plains is incredible. Every staff member helped make our stay one to remember. The bar staff even taught my husband some of the local language! I can't say enough about our guide and tracker for the safaris - they gave us unreal, National Geographic-like memories. Our room was spacious and had not only a glass-walled shower looking out to the waterhole where you can view animals, but a tub with a skylight looking to the sky and windows again looking to the waterhole so that even when relaxing in the bath you can enjoy nature. The food each day was different and tasted good. The kudo filets were my favourite! I hope to return!

Comfortable rooms, fantastic kitchen, beautiful outside facilities, only five minutes from Crocodile Gate, extremely friendly personel...A perfect place to spend one, preferably two, nights before entering the Kruger National Park. We had a very romantic dinner during electrical power loss due to a thunderstorm. We were the only guests, and everybody of the personel was caring about us fantastically. A "must-stay"!!!

In general very good except for the last day - we were booked (and paid in advance the full amount) from 23.03.2015 up to 31.03.2015 - unfortunately the heavy rain in the mountains near the village of Gaba (where I was working) washed the road to the site away and we had to return to our head office on 30.03.2015. Thus on 29.03.2015, I went to reception to try and cancel the last day - the lady at reception was very un-helpful and just said that I had to do it online (asI booked online) I tried but was unsuccessful - I then approached her again for help but shed did not want to help at all.

We had a great stay and the accommodation in the self catering 6 sleeper lodge (Tamboti), overlooking one of the lakes, was superb, spacious and included 3 full baths. Excellent location only 5 mins from the Kruger Park, Phalaborwa gate and a Spar and liquor store 5 mins away too. Room service food was excellent but the food quality and restaurant service in the restaurant was not really up to scratch (although it was a Xmas meal). Room service re cleaning/beds make-up and laundry was very good. Overall good value for money for self catering.

We had a blast at crocodile bridge lodge! location was good, it is right next to the Crocodile Bridge gate entry for Kruger National Park. we were first into the national park at 5am, thanks to the location! Bruce and Elsa are fantastic hosts! Bruce were very helpful and active in showing us what we can spot from the lodge. We saw herd of elephants during the evening, crocodile at night and hippos! and of cos the braai fire that made the food extra fragrant! Elsa is a great cook, her daily mac&cheese, homemade bread, salad were delicious. They made our new's yr's eve very special!! it has a home away from home vibe every night as all the guests talk and share about our lives and finds in kruger.

This lodge is one of the best I have experienced. A beautiful setting with amazing, friendly and caring staff, who go out of their way to ensure your every need is catered for. The food is excellent and plentiful thanks to chef Julia. The owners, JJ and florence are so welcoming, you feel like part of the family. Robert, our guide is so knowledgable, with a great sense of humour. We will definitely return to this fabulous establishment. We stayed for 3 nights in a bush lodge at Grand Kruger and had a good experience. I think the place is expensive (relatively cheaper than other places in Kruger), but the staff is very courteous and always ready to help with everything. This is a great place to stay if you want to enter Kruger National Park through the Crocodile Gate. Food was decent and spa was excellent. Overall we had a good time there. We booked the evening safari, 8 hour safari as well as Panoramic tour (Blyde River Canyon) through the hotel. One may be able to get these cheaper by using other agencies, but I didn't have much time before visiting to explore other options. Hotel option was certainly very convenient.

We had a group of 10 (5 couples) and we loved our stay. The staff were so great in responding to emails prior to the trip (they even notified us of our cancelled flights prior to the airline itself). They coordinated pick up and drop offs from HDS and allowed us to maximize our game drives. Although we didn't quite get to see as many animals as I hoped, we definitely did see the big 5 including a leopard eating its kill which was awesome. Would highly recommend them!

This is an interesting house that looks far older than it is. The rooms are spacious and clean and there's good, secure parking. The big verandah looks over the Crocodile River into the Kruger National Park and elephants, waterbuck and other animals take a trip across the river, to feed right below. The breakfast was excellent, looking out onto the river and the wildlife. I would thoroughly recommend the Belvedere to anyone touring the area.

After about four years we booked again after a horrible experience. Such a beautiful property and well located. Over-inflated beverage prices. It is all and well giving a package for Dinner and breakfast but does not help to make up on the drinks prices. The sleeper couches are the same as back then (Unsleepable), my 11-year-old had to share our bed with us. Maybe pull a king bed fitting over the two single beds if you never intend to replace the horrible sleeper couches so the kid does not fall through the middle of the two beds. As previously I should not even write this review for there will not be a response, as years ago.

What a great find. The wildlife viewing from the lodge was almost as good as inside the park. From the deck we saw giraffe, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, many antelope, and super lucky to see a leopard stalk impala. The lodge itself is big and private. The pool especially refreshing on a 40oC day. Super clean and comfortable stay. If we come back anywhere in south Africa it will be to this lodge!

Should stay here if you have a plan for visiting Kruger National Park! Nice happy people...awesome meals and good property. Even just sitting in your veranda waiting for sunset or jumped to the pool for colling down is enjoyable. We met the Big 5 on our one day safari including eyewitnessed 2 killing moments. Johan was soo helpful with all the information that I need and Albert is an awesome tour guide. The girls and boys at the Lodge are also lovely. Thank you for making our holiday in South Africa sooo lovely!!

Great hotel and also very convenient for travelling to the kruger park as the crocodile bridge gate for the kruger was just 10 mins away and 1 road away. The only 1 problem we had was after a shower.. the water always seeped in toward the bed side of the room. Perhaps a shower door would solve the issue but otherwise we had a great time and looking forward to coming back.

We stayed at the Trees Too for one night, and we thank very much the owner for her kindness. She helped us A LOT about going to Mozambique, she was very helpful. she also gave us advices before we go to the Kruger about the best places of the moment (dry season). The place is very near of the border with Mozambique and very near of the crocodile bridge gate of the kruger park, and the place is very quiet. We enjoyed the meals, and all the people of the lodge were very nice.

We arrived in the evening after the Kruger Park, booked the room a few minutes before we arrived and we're accepted with open arms. The room is very nicely decorated, vintage style with a bath and shower, aircon, TV, coffee, tea and a mini bar. There is a swimming pool in the property and places to sit in the garden. There is also parking on the property. The owner is very kind and helpful, she gave us a booklet about Swaziland and directed us to the nearby shops and restaurants and gave us tips for the rest of the trip.

It was great! :) Within close proximity to Kruger National Park, the Manyatta Rock Camp has a list of to-do activities from which one can select from. We did a full day tour at the Kruger National Park and managed to see 4 out of Africa's big 5 animals, in addition to many other small animals. Our room overlooked the entire jungle/forest and there were monkeys roaming freely around. The drive to and from the Rock Camp was exciting as we saw impalas as well! :D Breakfast, light lunch and dinner was provided for. Good experience!

had spent 22 nights in Kruger Park so were looking for somewhere to relax and take it easy. have stayed here before and made a point of returning. owner, 'managers' and staff were very helpful, friendly and fun to be around. the accommodation is the best guest house we've stayed in. Clean rooms, large open public areas that are filled with so many interesting, unusual and quirky items, three days was not long enough to see them all. breakfast and lunch and the accompanying service are first rate. HIGHLY recommended.

This is not our first visit to Silonque Bush and not the last that's a promise, we fall in love with the Lodge and it's staff members the 1st time we visit it was with our 20th wedding anniversary and we promise our self's when ever we have time to go that will be the place. We love the bush and what was so great this time "penvark" came every evening just after 20:15 for his treat, (fruit). But the only thing that was a down side was the night we forgot to buy firelighters that cost us R60 and that was a shock for me, even if I went back to town that would still not cost that much. Real shocker. Overall the most relaxing place to be. If you really just want to enjoy your time in the bush, just sit at the lovely pool read a book or drink that glass of ice cold white wine. In the evening relax with bottle of red wine you put away for special occasions build your fire and braai that lovely fillet. Enjoy the cool night breeze This place will always be part of our hearts
