"I could've found a cheaper hotel in Johannesburg, but then I'd have needed to pay for a cab out to Oliver Tambo. Excellent to be able to walk to the check-in desk without having to wait for a shuttle or without having to try to forecast traffic jams. Also liked the fact that I could do last minute gift and snack shopping in the airport mall. I didn't use the hotel restaurant (breakfast in the Mugg and Bean with a view in the Transit lounge instead). The one thing the room lacked was a fridge., but the reception desk girls put my stuff in the kitchen fridge. "

"Instead of heading to downtown Joburg which is more dangerous at night, why not stay at the Airport Inn. The room is huge and spacious, with atatched kitchen and living room. They allow late check in past midnight and the hotel is only a 10 minute drive from the airport, good for a wash up and rest during a long stopover or late night arrival."
