I had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights and loved every minute of my stay. This is my first time staying in Alva. I was booked a river view room and so happy been upgraded to apartment and the room itself was spacious and clean. A contemporary design hotel and very attentive service. Staff were always welcoming. I’d like to give a special thanks to Fiona and Mandy at the front desk, very attentive and courteous. They went above and beyond to help me out. Dinner Buffet has a wide variety of food choices and also would like to special thanks to Leo with great service. I thoroughly enjoyed two nights of happiness, would be happy to return when my hubby's birthday and my daughter love the spa shower!! I was so impressed by the superb quality of my stay even I staying under the situation of Typhoon. Finally, I would like to thanks Ying from Housekeeping who passionate and professional helped us to clean up the room. I will definitely come back again and Alva is one of my favorite hotel in Hong Kong.

Although the location is not in the central area of Hong Kong, the environment is very good! It is not far from the subway station! If you take a car from the airport, you can arrive quickly. The bed is comfortable, and the room does not have a musty smell! The service staff are very patient, and can communicate in Chinese for the most part. The only minor issue is that the breakfast menu is almost the same for two consecutive nights.

Alva Hotel - Good value for money”
We were pleasantly surprised how this hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of price, cleanliness, facilities, staff friendliness and excellent service. CONS The only minor gripe is the location but there are frequent hotel shuttle buses to the train station and only a 7 minute walk to the nearest mtr train station. Opposite the hotel there is a bus stop with buses to Admiralty (via North Point and Causeway Bay), and buses to the Airport run every 30 mins so getting around was not an issue at all. The breakfast buffet was good but not much variety if eating daily for more than a few days. PROS Check in and Check out process was quick and easy. Room was clean and quiet. Housekeeping came everyday with fresh towels. Noise insulation is good and we had no disturbance during sleep. Facilities include a roof top pool and a gym which were not busy when we visited during Easter. The equipment in the gym were still very new meaning gym is seldom used. Special mention to Ted Wong at the concierge desk who provided an impeccable service by going out of his way helping us wheel our heavy suitcases to the airport bus stop opposite the hotel. The 7-11 convenient store attached to the hotel was very handy. We didn’t eat at the hotel restaurants as there are a lot of local eateries in Shek Mun (less than 10 min walk away). SUMMARY Highly recommended if looking for a good clean hotel at a decent price.

Nice room but overpriced during the holidays”
Stayed one week at the end of the year 2023. Room was bright and comfortable and faced the cycling park across the street. The floor to ceiling window gave a gorgeous view of the river and the surrounding neighbourhood. There was a lot of storage space in the room, which would make a longer stay possible. Bathroom was bright and clean, with a great number of hooks, which was a rarity these days. The shower was difficult to operate at first but they did provide clear instructions. There was no body lotion in the amenity box but one could request for it from housekeeping. The hairdryer was fixed to a drawer in the bathroom, which was a bit inconvenient. One thing that I found strange was that they did not put bin liners in the rubbish bins, which made it difficult to keep the bins clean. I had to specifically ask housekeeping for bin liners as I wanted to throw out my own rubbish. I also found out that they just threw the stuff I put in the recycle bin into the same bag as the rubbish. Staff were not very professional. When I asked for simple information at the reception (e.g. shuttle bus time, bike rental arrangement, etc.), they often asked me to go to the concierge. I sometimes got conflicting information from different staff. Staff also seldom offered information voluntarily. I felt like it was easier to get information myself from the hotel website. The lifts took a long time during peak hours. I waited for 5 minutes on the ground floor once before a lift arrived. The card readers in the lifts were also not very sensitive, which meant that people sometimes missed their floors (I saw it happen a few times during my stay). All in all, ALVA Hotel was a mid-range hotel with pleasant rooms but could do with better service and management. The room price was exorbitant during the holidays (over $2,300 per night for a standard room) but was reasonable on off-peak days.

It is always my go-to holiday place. This time I stayed in the biggest suite and it was super. absolutely enjoy the bathtub, and worth that extra for me welcoming sweets, and letter! wonder if it is for the biggest suite only, I would rather have chocolate＆cookies though, appreciate the effort finally room service is available, though the choice is quite limited, especially midnight and breakfast, didn't try at all and why cut after 1230? I always find ALVA not to my needs when it comes to F&B. I travel myself and I only enjoy eating by myself. That's why I only order take from the outlets, but I would love it if could be included in room service, especially the Bento choice from the JP restaurant. I saw the THANN bath amenities, which I didn't use at all. Simply not a fan, I only use the normal shampoo they have there, and ask for the normal body lotion. appreciate you still provide the originally one, they are good enough! However as the top room type I found two part missed me 1. no bathsalt in the amenities, and it is the only suite in the hotel with bathtub, can't believe I need to bring my own, luckily I did 2. Fitness bike in room was a good idea, however could have been excellent if it would turn off by its own. absolutely disturbing even with the black cover, I need to unplug it by MYSELF to have a good sleep After all, such a sweet suite to stay, excellent cleanliness and style as always, except as the top suite of the hotel, I think it is not to my standard as a 5star. could be improved by effort
